Hello sports fans. I must put a break in my Fan Fic Series to bring you this exciting game on Dire Straights. I REPEAT THIS IS NOT FAN FIC. Please enjoy.
The Ungodly hours of the Nohunters world bore forth a series of dull and tedious moments. I have lost two games two Cattlebruiser and was now looking for a new game to sink my teeth into. I saw ProtectorofAiur and heard he was putting together a little 2v2. i joined the game but was told I had to be an observer. SNIFF Nobody wants to play with me........anyhow, the contestants for today were MasturNate, Fear'Factory, [Yuri]~FinKL and of course ProtectorofAiur. For the safty of this BR and my own sanitiy ProtectorofAiur will be POA and [Yuri]~FinKL will now be Yuri. With that said, let us begin.
The teams for today would be POA and Yuri vs. Fear'Factory and MasturNate. All allowed fate to guide their destiny and the players settled in. POA landed a center at the lower right island and his partner Yuri warped in a nexus at the upper left corner. MasturNate morphed a zerg hatchery at the lower left island and Fear'Factory landed a rival center at the upper right island. For those of you who did not have the deducting skills of a troll doll the map of choice was Dire Straights. With the special Bob modifications of the observer slots.
All began a rapid peon build and gathered many minerals. Strangly the only zerg player, MasturNate refuses to send his ovie scouting for he does not want the others to know what race he is. Stupid or smart...you decide.
Both terrans seem to share a psychic link as their opening build orders are identical. Both build a depot followed by a refinery and then a rax. Yuri the protoss goes gas, gate, core and then stargate. He and POA strategize and POA syas he will go wraith and Yuri should go sair. At zerg central, MaturNate has morphed three hatcheries and an evo chamber. He also morphs a pool and begins a lair as soon as it completes.
The teching comtinues as both terrans build factories with shops and also begin starports. Yuri begins sair production and warps in a forge and facilities. A group of sairs are sent to investigate the map head for Fear' Factoriy's main. The protoss ships scout the main and run from turrets near the rax and factories. They do uncover a cc in progress to float to a nearby island. The sairs continue to scout and proceed to MasturNates main. They run into a floating ovies and gun it from the air. However they are intercepted by hyrdalisks just as the ovie burst. The sairs turn and run to live to fight another day.
By now production is at full speed all over the map. POA is pumping out tanks and wraiths and has set up a strong defense behind his mineral line. Turrets, bunkers and tanks are built and moved to protect the busy peons. Aside from that the mains are lightly defended. A few spore colonies guard the zerg. A cannon or two guard the protoss and the terrans have a few sieged tanks and turrets. Most of the money is headed for troops. Reavers, wraiths and hydras oh my. Drops are in the foreseen future as groups of corsairs and wraiths patrol for both teams.
Its about a good fifteen minutes into game play and the first expos come online. POA floats a CC to the small island above him along with a few marines and tanks. Yuri drops a probe onto both the large island to the south east and the small island directly to the east. MasturNate Drops hydras and a drone to the large island to the north east and drops a large hydra force onto the small island just north from him. Fear' Factory floats a cc to the large island to the west with a marine and tank escort.
With every island taken there can only be one outcome. Mass destruction for control of these vital expansion points. Fear' Factory is the first to succumb to aggression and drops a marine squad onto the small POA expansion below his main. The attack is repealed by the ground troops, but soon a squadron of Fear' Factory wraiths swoop in for revenge. POA's own wraiths counter but are repelled when a hydra drop from MasturNate spells the doom of the islands inhabitants. POA is forced back and his cc is floated to saftey. AT the other side of the world, Yuri is dealing with a double team from the terran/zerg alliance. A hydra drop suppported by marines take control of the Yuri expo just to Fear' Factory's left. Cannons alone defend the island and the corsair/shuttle reinforcements are soon chase away by cloaked wraiths. MasturNate who now has both the small expansions around his main, offers the expo to Fear' Factory. A cc is floated in as well as marines, tanks and scv's.
The onslaught continues as a group of ovies set out from zerg main. They are escorted by several mutalisks and head towards the protoss central island expansion. It too is protected only by cannons and the ovies absorb the energy blows as they delivar their cargo. They spill death from above in the form of drooling hydras. But the outcome of this battle will be far different as shuttles and corsairs arrive on the scene. The sairs remove the mutalisk infestations as reavers armed to the teeth unload their pint sized pills of pain and turn the hydar army into goulash. The zerg attack is repealed but MasturNate is far from done. He orders a new drop upon the forces of POA. POA has taken the central island for himself and has banished the Fear' Factory defenders straight to Hell where they join the army that Heartcutter had sent there long ago. A new expansion is set up in POA's name. Marines and tanks are moved in to protect the expo as turrets and bunkers are raised. A factory as well as a rax are also placed upon the isle to further enforce it. The zerg drop is accompanied by mutas and the Fear' factory wraiths. The tanks open fire and kill many hydras but the mutas and wraiths overwhelm the tanks. Fear' Factory also lands a MMF combo from the rear and attacks the factory and rax. POA's wraiths rush in and are accompanied by a comsat. The enemy wraiths are killed but POA's wraiths are gunned down by hydra spines. The calvary arrives just in time as goons and reavers are dropped behind the factory and rax. The MMF combo is dealt with and the reavers kill the remaining hydras.
Again the zerg cerebrate is unfazed by the loss and orders a third drop. This one is aimed once again at the protoss central island expansion. This time mutas eliminate the reavers and the hydras are free to kill uninterrupted. The protoss expansion becomes a hotly contested spot as every member sends troops to the island. This is the only toss expansion and if its lost then the game could be over. POA sends a wraith armada as does Fear' Factory. Fear also drops a marine group who assist the hydras in killing the nexus and cannons. Yuri sends an emergency groups of reavers and goons to deal with the invades. A wing of corsairs also follow into the heat of battle. The reavers fire scarabs in all directions and the ground turns red with the blood of the terran infidels. The hyrdas continue the assault but are overwhelmed by the goons and reaver forces. Three grand drops and three heavy losses.
The tide appears to be turning as POA and Yuri assert themselves on the battlefield. POA chooses to tech again and quickly goes about massing BC's. Two armories are built to upgrade the new war machine. Again the esp kicks in as Fear' Factory builds BC's and has two armories. Yuri stays with his current strategy of reavers, goons and sairs. He takes a large drop force and heads south towards the small zerg expo. The reavers do their thing and proceed to annihilate the hydras and sunkens ordered to guard the expo. The expo is now a receding scab and a probe is dropped in to warp a nexus and cannons. A second drop group heads for the other zerg expo. Have way there the group splits up. Half continue to the expo and the other half heads for the zerg main. Reavers and goons descend upon the defenders and crush them under sever reaver fire. The expo drops easily as the main fights to live. Zerglings and mutas are called up as casualty after casualty is claimed. A spire, nest and hatch give their lives in for the good of the swarm. The attack is halted by the lings and mutas but the damage is done. MasturNate says its game over but Fear' Factory continues to fight.
POA tells Yuri to get ready for a final invasion. Fear has two islands and him main. Killing the islands will kill him. POA tells Yuri to go at his command. He will attack the island north of him and Yuri will attack the island to his right. As of right now, POA has eight 2/2/2 cruisers and dropships full of tanks and marines. The force sets out for conquest and gathers around the tiny island. The Fear' Factory island is defended by turrets, bunkers and tanks. The BC's move in and the sky over the expasion turns black. Lasers tear into the turrets and not a single one is left standing. The dropships unload the rines and tanks but Fear' factories tanks rain fire down upon the passengers. Fear' factory also has BC and an air war erupts. The two fleets face off with POA unleashing a deadly hail of yamoto on the rival cruisers. The Fear cruisers fight back but they are outgunned and outnumbered. Watching the capital ships plunge into the sea is like watching the seconds Fear has to live go by. The island is decimated and a great day has been won by POA. He looks over at Yuri to see shuttles but no attacking.
"Why didn't you go?"
"Didn't say when."
"Oh. Sorry. Go."
Yes in his eager anticipation for asswhippin, POA had forgotten to say when. But with that my BC's can you really blame him.
Yuri's shuttles deploy at Fear' Factory's last expo and drop an astounding 12 reavers. Needless to say the expansion had no chance. With their expansions gone and their mains mined out, both MasturNate and Fear' Factory bow out gracefully.
