The AzNSuNBoY Thanksgiving Special

The game was started via the usual nohunters chit-chat. It was to be a 2v2.

The Players

Team NEWBIE

• LuckyNewbie:P - A mediocre (sorry lucky =P) starcraft player, played in a few of my other reports. He randomed to yellow terran at 3:00.
• AzureHeart - From what I've seen, he's a good player, and a master of cheap tactics. He randomed to teal protoss at 12:00.

• Illgetdroped - I've been thinking of him as the "new wangsonn"; always has a game going. He randomed to orange zerg at 9:00.
• Kinslayer(tm) - I don't much about him, but I guess he's a good protoss player, since he chose them. He ended up with brown at 6:00.

• [Mr.T]Hoss - My fellow observer, likes to crack random jokes.
• [AsF]AzNSuNBoY - That's me =).

The game opens with some horrendous lag from Illgetdroped. With the encouragement of "Don't drop, droped," it finally stops after a minute. Throughout this confusion, AzureHeart tries to determine the source of the lag, and when he comes up with Illgetdroped, [Mr.T]Hoss confirms his suspicions with .

Team TM discusses their early strategy...

At any rate, Kinslayer(tm) starts with pylon, gate, gate, pylon, pylon, pylon. His partner (Illgetdroped) goes spawning pool, 6 zerglings, hatchery at the top of his ramp.

Team NEWBIE takes a slightly different path. LuckyNewbie:P goes barracks, depot, barracks, depot. AzureHeart starts with pylon, gate, gate, pylon, assimilator.

Illgetdroped's six zerglings head toward AzureHeart's base, hoping for some quick blood, but are held off by two zealots at the ramp.

Early Attacks

On the other end, Team NEWBIE has decided to try to end it early. AzureHeart sends four zealots while LuckyNewbie:P sends eight marines, while adding a refinery at home. Kinslayer(tm)'s eight zealots were heading out to do damage, but upon seeing the force, turn tail and run back to the ramp, while calling for help from Illgetdroped.



Kinslayer(tm) and Illgetdroped hold off the attack, but AzureHeart immediately calls for a second wave. LuckyNewbie:P adds a 3rd barracks and an academy, while AzureHeart warps in his cybernetics core. Illgetdroped morphs a lair, while Kinslayer(tm) twiddles his thumbs and pumps zealots. Both Kinslayer(tm) and AzureHeart then add another gateway.

The aforementioned second wave consists of four zealots and eight marines, which meet up with Kinslayer(tm)'s four zealots. Illgetdroped sends zerglings from the back, and helps Kinslayer(tm) barely hold on to his ramp.

The Respite, and More Action

Meanwhile, Illgetdroped has started his spire and also a queen's nest, probably going for guardians and/or cracklings. Kinslayer(tm) warps in his core, and then both protoss players add Citadel of Aduns (Citadels of Adun? I dunno =P) and forges. Meanwhile, LuckyNewbie:P adds a comsat and engineering bay, while Illgetdroped patiently waits for his mutas. AzureHeart gives his assessment of the situation:

Team NEWBIE decides again to move out on Kinslayer(tm)'s base. Two firebats, four marines, two medics, 4 zealots, and two dragoons go up against eight zealots and two dragoons.

The attack is again stopped, thanks to Kinslayer(tm)'s nifty dragoon micro.

Revenge is sweet

Team NEWBIE this time heads out to Illgetdroped's base. LuckyNewbie:P has a good-sized force of M&M, and AzureHeart has his typical zealots and dragoons. By this time, Illgetdroped has a hive, is morphing a Greater Spire, and has six mutalisks. Instead of keeping them back to help stem the assault, Illgetdroped sends his mutas to AzureHeart's base. AzureHeart's only protection are two cannons; on the wrong side of the base. Illgetdroped heads for the other side, and discovers a warping stargate and templar archives (just started). The mutas "hit on" the warping buildings, but fly away at the sight of a single dragoon. Why? We'll see...

LuckyNewbie:P finally starts his factory, and team Newbie moves on Illgetdroped's base.


With the help of Kinslayer(tm)'s DT's, Team NEWBIE's attack force is routed.

Kinslayer(tm) immediately follows this with a DT attack on AzureHeart, who still doesn't have cannons on the left side of his base. Team TM proceeds to send all their forces on the attack...

Team TM eliminates Team NEWBIE and takes no survivors.

Postgame
