I have been in ~NoHunters a lot lately, but haven't been able to find a good game to BR. Bored, I volunteer to watch a 1v1 between iamnotdrunk! and Onanist2K. iamnotdrunk! decides to be a bitch when there is game lag and tells me to leave. I decline, swearing that it's not me. For God's sake, I have cable!! We all return to the channel, and I immediately squelch Onanist2K because I don't want him to bother me about another game. The.Emancipator, [Yuri]~FinKl, and GaynusUpTheAnus are asking around for a fourth person to 2v2. Gaynus says "Yes" for some reason, and I realize Onanist must have volunteered. I ask to watch, and Gaynus says that obs are welcome. Thus begins my third BR.
Space...the final frontier. This is (TYC)Khas'andro's Battle Report, its eternal mission to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before, into the world of...
Ladies and gentelmen, welcome to the main event. Let's get ready to rumble. The game is StarCraft, the place is the Lost Temple (sue me, biatch), and the players are...well, strange.
That pretty picture above shows you each player's starting point and race, but let me clear things up for those simple minded people who are reading this. Team Gaynus2K consists of Onanist2K, who has warped in his pearl-white Protoss Nexus at the 9:00 main, and GaynusUpTheAnus, whose teal Terran Command Center floats in and lands at the 12:00 main. Team The.FinKl is The.Emancipator, whose fate has left him in command of a mighty Zerg Hatchery with a lovely brown tint, morphed at the 6:00 main.. Team The.FinKls other player is [Yuri]~FinKl, whose blood red Terran Command Center towers over the 3:00 main. Let's start with their build order summaries.
Gaynus starts off with a Supply Depot, shortly followed by two Barracks. Onanist uses the build order suggested to him by his partner, Pylon, Gateway, another Gateway, and then a second pylon. Meanwhile, Emancipator and his Zerg swarm have taken a more laid back build, morphing a Hatchery at his ramp, a Spawning Pool inside his base, and another Hatchery between the two present Hatcheries.
FinKl, however, takes the most common Terran build order: a wallin using two supply depots and a Barracks. Two Marines soon pop out of a completed Barracks, and FinKl makes the move for an early tech, beginning construction of a Refinery on his Vespene Geyser, followed by a Factory when he has saved up enough gas.
Meanwhile, Onanist has gotten gas also, along with a forge and another Gateway. Gaynus seems content in getting a lot of Marines from his two Barracks, while Emancipator has morphed a Zerg Extractor to mine gas from his Geyser.
As a couple of vultures pop out of FinKl's completed Factory, a few words bewteen the members of Team Gaynuss2K has Onanist sending some of his Zealots to FinKl's main while Gaynuss sends a bunch of his massed marines to aid in the razing. They meet in a bloody clash, Terran brother against brother, while Protoss reinforcements move past the wallin. Frantic, FinKl tells his ally to send help. Emancipator obliges with...zerglings. 10 or so Zerglings move in to flank the offensive force. The attacking Marines seem fine in defending two fronts, with ranged weapons to their advantage.
The zerglings are quickly put to rest, and the teal marines continue their destruction of FinKl's wallin. The zealots have ended the reign of the vultures, but soon, more will drive out the attackers. The concussive damage of the vultures proves to be too much for the marines. Many die, but they manage to take down the vultures. Sensing how futile it would be to continue the attack, they return to Gaynus's base.
During the battle, each player teched like a squirrel on speed. Gaynus has consturcted n Engineering Bay, a Factory, and an Academy. Onanist has added a Robotics Facility and a StarGate to his arsenal. Emancipator techs up to Hydralisks and Mutalisks, adding a Lair, Spire, and Hydralisk Den to his building count. FinKl, however, hasn't teched at all, except by adding another Factory and beginning Spider Mine Research. Emancipator also takes the welcomed peace to expand to his natural.
Here comes second blood. Using the process of elimination, Team Gaynus2K decides to knock on Emancipator's natural's door. Gaynuss sends a small squad of Marines, Firebats, and Medics, while Onanist supports them with his Zealots. Emancipator's Lurkers and Hydralisks valiantly stand to defend their morphing Hatchery, but Comsat sweeps prove to be too much for the Lurkers, and all the Zerg forces defending the natural are defeated. Emancipator's Hatchery falls, and Team Gaynus2K returns to their respective bases. Many things happen during battles, and this one is no exception. Onanist is pumping Corsairs from his StarGate, while Gaynuss has opted to build some fearsome Siege Tanks. FinKl, however, has only placed down a StarPort, but it'll be important later.
FinKl lifts off his Barracks, allowing a small group of Vultures to freely roam the map. They decide to drop in on Onanist. Finding Onanist's natural unoccupied, FinKl's vultures drop their payload of mines and speed back to FinKl's base. Mission accomplished. However, one of Onanist's fresh observers spots an interesting thing. Seeing the mines, Onanist sends over an observer and a group of Dragoons to remove the pesky parasitic mines. They do their job efficiently, and Onanist sends a probe down to lay the warp beacon for a towering Nexus. All three of the other players also expand at around this point in the game, Emancipator reclaiming his lost natural.
FinKl, the current star of this Battle Report, decides to use his brand spankin' new Tanks to kick some Gaynus anus. He puts a pair of tanks in a dropship, and sends them over to the cliff above Gaynus' natural, pulling of an amazing display of a crappy turbo newb. His two tanks are quickly defeated by Gaynus' forces. Below, you see exactly what NOT to do in a turbo newbie attack. A turbo newb without any SCVs to repair is better known as just a Newb. Not Turbo Newb, just Newb.
Gaynus, steaming from FinKl's Newb attack, decides to attack the clustered forces of FinKl, at his mineral-only. FinKl's army consists of a bunch of vultures and 5 or 6 Tanks, all of them sieged. Gaynus' dropships drop their payload of medarines right smack in the middle of FinKl's forces, causing splash damage to take out two or three of FinKl's tanks.
Emancipator siezes the day by expanding to his mineral-only. Onanist has added a Citadel of Adun to his arsenal, but it is unclear whether he wil be teching to Templars or just researching the speed Zealot upgrade. Emancipator also adds a Queen's Nest and an Evolution chamber to his large list of structures.
Onanist, deciding its time for some Zerg rapage, sends his large Dragoon force, accompianed by an observer or two, to assualt Emancipator. Finding his mineral-only occupied yet lightly defended, Onanist forces the Swarm to concede, retreating to its natural.
Onanist, swelled up from his victory, sends his Dragoons to conquest Emancipator's natural. Emancipator, however, has moved more of his forces to defend the expansion. The reinforced Zerg forces are too much for the mighty Protoss. Onanist's army is repulsed by a mix of Hydralisks and Lurkers. The Swarm is victorious this day, yet Onanist will never seek revenge for the mighty Protoss killed this day. During this skirmish, both FinKl and Gaynus have expanded to their respective mineral-onlys. With a strike of ingeniusness, Onanist builds a Shuttle from his Robotics Facilty and sends a Probe up to the NorthWest island expansion, who constructs a group of pylons and cannons to defend from invasion. However, these are the only structuresa to be warped onto the island during this part of the game.
Gaynus, the other Terran in this little ball o' blood, decides to follow in the footsteps of his archenemy. Loading tanks, medarines, and a pair of SCVs into a pair of dropships, Gaynus heads for the ledge above FinKl's natural, planning to pull off a successful Turbo Newb. The dropships unload their cargo, and the SCVs immediately build some missle turrets to defend against airborne atrocities. The tanks siege, and the medarines stand ready to defend them at all costs. The tanks succeed in demolishing almost all of FinKl's natural, except his Command Center, which he cleverly lifted off. FinKl never regains his natural, as this Turbo Newb is never moved.
FinKl never remains idle during an assualt, and he has added an armory and a Sciene Facility to his main. Scarred from the loss of his natural, FinKl sends his large army of tanks to lay waste to Gaynus' mineral-only, which works well, until Onanist moves in to aid his ally.
Team The.FinKl organizes an attack on Onanist's base. Emancipator sends hydralisks, lurkers, and a couple of Overlords. FinKl sends his remaining vultures, along with a couple of tanks. Emancipator ran into Onanist's returning Dragoons on the way to his base, resulting in the bloody conflict depicted below.
Emancipator and FinKl proceed to lay waste to Gaynus' mineral-only, soon moving on to attack his natural expansion. Onanist built a group of cannons at his entrance near the beginning of the game so, after defeating the defensive emplacements, Team The.FinKl begins to raze the natural of the mighty Protoss. A fresh group of Dragoons moves to intercept after the cannons fall, but they are quickly defeated. Onanist's natural falls shortly afterward, marking the point at which he is technically defeated.
Another batch of Dragoons pops from Onanist's 24/7 Gateways, moving to again defeat the Team The.FinKl forces. They push past this resistance, too, beginning to raze Onanist's main. FinKl's vultures drop their mines throughout Onanist's base, but a group of zealots manage to defeat the vultures. The Zerg forces have been reduced to only six hydralisks. When faced with 6 Zealots, the hydralisks quickly begin to morph into lurkers, but obviously just to prolong their lives. One egg is destroyed during metamorphosis, and as soon as the other 5 hatch, they are quickly killed by the bloodthirsty Zealots. Seeing his defeat in view, Onanist begins building up at his previously inactive island expansion.
Emancipator reclaims his lost mineral-only, while Gaynus begins his campaign to rid the Lost Temple of the red Terrans. He moves his tanks, Science Vessels, and medarines to take out FinKl's mineral-only. Simultaneously, he pulls off an amzing drop on FinKl's now undefended main. FinKl's weakened forces cannot keep up an attack on two fronts, and collapse, allowing Gaynus to destroy his structures.
And now, everyone, time for a first: my first collage!! It's the end game collage.
You'll see FinKl's question to Emancipator. Yes my friends, Emancipator has neglected to get any Guardians this whole game, even when adding a Greater Spire to his forces. Any competent Zerg player would have made the move for Guardians the second he sees a Terran player with medarines. Oh, and don't ask me what FinKl thinks he was doing with the floating Barracks, it seems like it is just there for decoration.
Ladies and Gentlemen and BattleReports.com regulars, (I figured each category was different than the rest) this is my after-game collage:
The box in the upper right is Gaynus' profile, someone in ~NoHunters told me to look at it, so I did. Most everything else is each player pointing out Emancipator's incompetence.
Team The.FinKl loses to the almighty Team Gaynus2K in an epic battle between all three races.
And this game, I even remembered to include the scores!!
Thank you all, this has been a
Production. Comments Welcome!
