We get ready for a 2v2 on temple. Two more clan members quickly join and the game starts.
Game One
Map: Lost Temple
I, Adrenaling chooses Brown Zerg 12:00
Dawn[W] chooses Teal Terran 3:00
BroodBoy[W] chooses Purple Protoss 9:00
Zero[W] randoms Orange Protoss 6:00
The teams are set to TvB mode and as soon as the game starts, Zero[W] yells "B!". What a fag.
The game commences and I turn on ally chat. My partner, Dawn, decides a fast factory to mass metal. I think, he's nuts. But I hastily agree and opt for a nice double-hatchery zergling rush. It would give me a nice proper defence for the early game, unlike my partner, the teching maniac.
I scout out BroodBoy at 9. He has two gateways. I figure they are going to dual gate zealot rush me... Both of them. Dawn scouts out Zero. Zero has two gates and I now see some zealots running out of the warp field. I'm in trouble. My pool finishes and I order up lings immediately. In hopes of survival, I construct a hatchery directly atop my ramp. I figure I can sunken up. Too late. Four zealots run my ramp - 2 purple, 2 orange. I have 8 lings. Do I attack? Nope. I keep them safe. The zealots get busy with the morphing hatchery which gives me time. I contruct two sunkens at my mineral line. I order up more lings and take a look at my partner.s
Dawn has 2 vults just sitting there. I yell at him and he wakes up. He sends his vultures over and both our power combined crushes the zealots.
The colors come back to the bikers's faces as they race back home. Luckily, nothing is destroyed, just damaged. I morph a few sunkens atop my ramp and start up a hydra den. I research speed. I get out some hydras and properly defend my station. My ally is under attack now. 3 goons have just ran up his ramp. He has two tanks and siege still being researched. I sigh and send over all those acid-spitters. The goons stop to fire on my 7 hydras. I target one goon at a time and they fall soon. My ally says "i didnt your help" and promptly sieges his tanks and blasts my hydras away.
Now I'm thinking, what the HELL is he doing? I unally him and start a Lair. Nope, no lair yet. I'm still thinking, why the hell did he backstab me when two tanks roll in to my choke. Woohoo baby. They siege up right next to each other. I deploy my lings and the claw up the tanks before the tanks unsiege. After my Lair finishes I begin lurker morph and drops for overlords. I know that if Dawn has tanks then he'll probably look to cliffing too. I scout out the two protoss players with a zergling. I see one Zero getting mass goons and broodboy getting mass templars. Nice co-operation between the two protoss players. Me and Dawn? I'm not so sure of anymore. I expand to my natural right now.
I have a good deal of hydras, so I morph some into lurkers. I research speed for ovies and load up all available hydras into all available overlords. Some zerglings are patrolling the middle. I send my overlords into Dawn's base the easy way in - the back door. I drop all of them and the scvs are being blown apart. I burrow my lurkers and destroy his command center.
Dawn, "Fuck man"
Adrenaling, "You shouldn't have backstabbed"
Dawn, "I'm being attacked by both sides!"
Zero, "Hehe"
BroodBoy, "Who backstab who?"
Adrenaling, "He backstabbed me"
Adrenaling, "The motherfucker"
Dawn, "I couldve done it on my own"
Adrenaling, "Right, and by the time you would have siege, you wouldve been overrun"
After that little chat, Dawn is out of the game now. I load my hydras and lurkers back up. I leave one lurker there for scouting/peon killing purposes. I decide to drop again, this time at orange - Zero. I figure he has no templar, due to goon massing. I land my hydras/lurkers in his main base mineral line. His natural base is too dangerous. Then I send all my remaining hydras from my main base to the middle. I expand to the 3 natural.
WARNING! BASE IS UNDER ATTACK!
I look to my choke and see Broodboy's goons smashing through my base. I feel orange is promptly out with out his main base hatchery and load up my drop-force. I send them to Broodboy's mineral line and unload them. Just in time too, because orange's goons were coming to chase my offenders away. Then I send my hydras in the middle back. Luckily for me, his stormers, the templar, are slacking off at the back and I assassinate them pretty easily. Then his goons are taken care of with my combined hydra/ling force.
Broodboy was slacking off in his main as my hydras smash through his cannons, no resistance has come yet. Zero's goons arrive and they begin firing on my guys. I retreat my hydras to the cover of lurkers and Zero's forces are also crushed. I rip through broodboy's base structures and then proceed onto Zero's base. I forget about the drops and do a full-force-frontal attack (lots of "f"s). His natural is crushed. Zero says "gg" and leaves the game.
Game Two
The last game was short and sweet. So will this game.
Map: Dire Straits
I, Adrenaling chooses Red Zerg
PrAiSe[W] randoms Orange Terran
Dawn[W] chooses Brown Terran
Zero[W] chooses Teal Protoss
Different map, different players, different match-ups, different teams. I morph my blood red hatchery at the bottom-right. My ally, Praise[W] randoms orange Terran at the top-left. Dawn[W] chooses Brown Terran top-right and his ally Zero[W] bottom-left with chosen Teal Protoss.
That's right. With the fear of being backstabbed again, I ally up with Praise instead of Dawn. My favourite race is Zerg, Dawn's is Terran, Zero's is Protoss and Praise's is random. I start off my usual zerg on island. I morph an extractor first, then a spawning pool very shortly after. Then a hydra den and a lair. Hydra drops on island owns, man. I research hydra speed and ovie speed/drops. My ally opts for a quick marine/medic drop. I load my hydras up and send them to the first enemy I could find. Just before, however, I expand to one of the middle islands.
The first opponent I find is Zero. I drop my forces into his mineral line. BOOM! Shit. Reaver drop. I load my hydras back up and send them to another part of his base, away from his reavers. I land my forces near his tech buildings and begin razing them. A shuttle moves in and manages to land both reavers. I load up my hydras again and send them to the mineral line once more. I annihilate all the probes there. He chases my guys off. I unload my hydras away from the reaver once again. Woohoo! A pylon cluster. I order my hydras to attack pylon after pylon. Zero is cursing me out. I make short work of the pylons and load up my guys just as the reavers move in. Talk about some hydra micro. Kinda.
I focus my attention on my base once more and begin researching lurkers. I ferry 8 drones to my new isle expo and unload them. I begin an extractor and two sunkens. I start more drones. My new expo is up and running. I order up more hydras in my main.
At Zero's base, I see five shuttles arrive - 3 teal, 2 brown. Hehe. My ally and Zero's ally, Dawn are dropping at the same time. Dawn's drop consist metal - 3 tanks and 2 vultures. (I think I counted that right) Praise's drop was all M&M. Mmmm, tasty M&M's. Anyways, both forces clash. I send in my hydras to help and Zero sends his reavers. Dawn's vults try to set some mines up but are destroyed too quickly. Praise's M&M's are beating the crap out of his tanks. I decide to run my hydras away and attack anything important while Zero and Dawn were busy with Praise's M&M. Zero's reavers were hammering the M&M though and I just couldn't run away like a chicken with out helping Praise out. So I send my hydras over and nail the reavers hard. BOOM, BOOM go two reavers. Yes, the big battle is over and now my team has free reign in Zero's base.
I expand to the other middle island and Praise takes the island next to his main base. Praise has covered his main/isle expo with turrets. I begin another force of hydras. Zero is effectively out of the game and we let him go observer mode.
I load up my hydras at Zero's main and send them back to my base. I set up more sunkens on my island expansions.
Adrenaling, "Dropping again"
Praise, "Alright"
Yes that's right, we were both lagging out now... j/k. We both load up our forces. I have 9 ovies full of hydras and Praise has 7 dropships full of M&M. Praise also brings a dumb science vessel along for the ride. We arrive at Dawn's base. But Dawn is no newb though. He has a good stronghold. I tell Praise to retreat and he does. I lost 2 overlords to mass turrets and he lost one science vessel. The dumbass. I get a queen's nest and a hive. Then I begin morphing a spire.
YOUR BASE IS UNDER ATTACK!
I look at my new island expansion and I see a group of goliaths and tanks ripping it apart. I curse and send my 7 overlord drop. I unload them atop the goliaths. The goliaths that are attacking my overlords now focus their attention on my hydras. Too late for him though. His tanks are all dead and my hydras are ripping through his goliaths like there's no tomorrow. I manage to destroy his metallic force, but he manages to destroy my hatch and drones on the isle.
I morph my spire into a greater spire and morph 9 mutas. I morph them all to guards and send those guards with scourge, to the enemy terran base. My partner's assisting me with a group of wraiths. Well Dawn has no idea what is going on when my guards start blowing his buildings up with their acid blobs. After all main threats are gone, IE turrets and goliaths, I drop my hydra force and he brings his wraiths in. Dawn says gg and leaves the game.
Game Three
Short and boring, that's all.
Map: Blood Bath
I, Adrenaling randoms Protoss
Praise[W] randoms Zerg
Dawn[W] chooses Terran
Zero[W] chooses Zerg
Perfect map, perfect positioning, perfect matchups, perfect newbie game. The teams stay the same. I ally up with Praise[W] and Zero allies up with Dawn. I end up in the bottom-left, Praise at the top-left. Dawn is at the bottom-right and Zero, top-right. This game is really newbie so read and find out why.
Praise and I chat for awhile and decide on the strategies we are to do. I get a pylon on 7/9 and then a forge on 8/17. My partner gets a 7 pool and gets a ton of drones. I send a probe to Dawn's base and secretly warp in a pylon in a dark corner of his base. The terran commander, stationed on the space platform, has no idea what's going on. I warp in some cannons after my pylon completes.
Praise sends 8 zerglings and 3 drones to Zero's base. The drones head in first and begin morphing into creep colonies. His zerglings engage Zero's 4 zerglings. Praise's 8 zerglings rip up the 4 zerglings with only 2 losses and a few minor injury. He morphs his creep colonies into sunkens and Zero has no choice but to pull his 9-10 or so drones off minerals. He attacks the zerglings first, killing them all, surprisingly. But at a terrible cost. Zero only has 3 drones left. HAHA! The sunkens finish their morph and take out the Zerg base.
I make another pylon, close to my cannons but a little farther into his base. I warp more and more cannons. He sends a scout in and sees a group of infantry a-massing. Praise brings 1 control group of zerglings to Dawn's bridge to try to stop any forces from moving out. Woohoo. I have like, 10 or so cannons now, so Praise tries to do that lure-move thingy with his zerglings and it works. Marines and medics fall, screaming, to the ground, in agony. Dawn swears aloud
"fuck"
and leaves the game.
Three newbish games between four newbish players, will the newbishness ever end? Nah. |
