Commander Heartcutter surveyed the order:

Protoss activity detected in the Korpula sector. Terminate with extreme prejudice. Have a nice day.

-Admiral Davies

Just another day in the corp. Been there, done that. Might as well do it again...

Deon peon went beyond the call of duty and got some great recon. As he approached the enemy base, he spotted a pylon and a pair of cannons warping in. He did an interesting build. He went forge first and closed off his choke point with a pair of cannons.

If I REALLY wanted to, I could mass the marines to take on the choke. I decided not to, and instead saved an early 400 that would have otherwise have gone to marines and upgrades.

Ancient Chinese proverb: One neighbor builds a fence. Two neighbors enjoy it.

After a scout of his main, Deon sat in the mineral area of the opposing expansion, waiting for indications that my opponent was getting his expansion online. The answer was not for awhile. By the time he got around to building it, I had already begun building a scanner on my expanision, and had full production going as well.

The only bad part about having an expansion going that early was that it threw off my build. I was struggling to spend all the income I was generating. I chose plenty of marines and medics, as well as a factory. I also began construction of 2 more CC's. As I began my factory, I found that he had a band of goons and some cannons warping in near my choke point.

I cried... with laughter. He then tried to bait my marines into the mixture of cannons and goons by moving in and moving back. I didn't really sweat it. I lost some marines but as my first tank came online, it was time to stop that nonsense. It rolled up to the cherry spot on my plateau, pulled out Mjorlnir and made him my bitch.

His goons left as the siege tanks laid waste to his cannons at my choke. I also sent out the new cc's to the bottom rt island as well as my 2nd natural. The heat was off for awhile.

Now I called up Casper and began the series of upgrades that would make him a bad ass. As this was going on, he tested my defenses a little with some sporadic reaver drops.

These were the generic 2 reaver drops, and they did a fairly good number on some peons and my lingering marines. By missing one of the little steps of building a single wraith, killing the reaver and shuttle turned out harder than it should have.

He also staged an attack on my 2nd natural, wiping it out as well as all of the SCVs there working with a mass of Dragoons. Sigh.

But at this point I had my main, my natural, the lower RT island and the 12:00 natural as well. I estimated that he only had his natural. The equation was that as every minute went by, I got stronger and gained more of an advantage.

Once I was halfway through the upgrades on my ghosts, I began a push on his main. At about the map midpoint, I set up a couple of bunkers and a turret. I really did it half-ass however, and only built 3 bunkers when I should have built four. That, and I didn't have nearly the amount of tanks I should have. So 3 tanks, 3 bunkers and some random infantry proceeded to die to about 24 goons. To my credit though, I killed a shitload of 'em. One more tank would have swung the fight dramatically.

But we were approaching the endgame. Casper was here, and he was cool as ice. As a precursor of things to come, his shuttles returned to my base with reavers, only to be lockdowned as they approached. I had roughly 20 ghosts and 2 nuke silos. Did a little scan around the map and found that he expanded to 12:00. Sent a horde of ghosts and other random infantry and some tanks to kill it. Turned out just fine.

But now he counterattacked my 2nd natural again with about 20 goons. I had about 20 SCVs there, so I didn't exactly want to go head on. I gave Casper and his friends a call.

Call the shot...

And with a blinding fury, Casper neutralized, no, make that NEUTERED the attacking goons. As the last of the goons were locked down, the highly pissed-off SCVs exacted revenge.

The game concluded with a little nuke on his peons at his natural. Unfortunately, we were disconneded, but it was evident who won.

Lessons learned:

-Don't slack when you play terran
-If your opponent expands early, do the same, only better.
-Spend all your money, dammit!
-Casper is a backbreaker. Just learn how to use him.

Battle Shots!

Half-ass tank pushes are a bad thing!

Even so, it did leave a mark...

He's going to destroy my 2nd natural for the 3rd time...

but Casper made him pay. And those SCVs were FURIOUS!

Cliffside nuking. You've seen it before, but it does make for a pretty moment.
