Lifetime Rating for BObThEbUiLdEr: 4.0000 |  | For starters this is my first report so go easy on me, and for those of you who like pictures with the reports they read I'm sorry for I have none.(didn't know how to take screenshots)
I was searching through battlenet in hopes of finding a good ffa game but unfortunatly I found none. I decided to take my chances and try a 2v2 match, now let me point out to you that this would be my 3rd game on Warcraft 3 and even though I'm a decent starcraft player Warcraft 3 happens to be a whole new ballpark for me. After picking The Orcs and the 2v2 option I then hit the enter button and before long battlenet found a suitable game. In the loadscreen I found that I was linked with a teal colored ally who picked the versatile race of the Humans while my other two opponants chose Night Elves and yet again Humans.
This match up was pretty even showing that my pink opponent(Night Elves)
was a level 1 and his partner the blue( Humans) was a level 4. While My allie was a level 3 and I was of course a level 1. While the loadbar made it all the way over I gritted my teeth in hopes of bringing my measily level 1 point higher.
(Sorry in advance for the fact that I didn't save the replay or make the effort to remember the map so bear with me) As my peons and main structure came into view I quickly sent 4 of them to mine while the other to build a barracks, then after order more peons I took the time to look at the minimap. My partner was situated to the right of me and was placed a little higher up the map, but less than half way. Our blue opponit was placed half way up the map while pink was placed in the top right side even higher than him. After a little chitchat between my ally and me we began building our forces with him going for footman and the mountain king as his hero, and me going for grunts and my all time favorite the tauron chief, then we both began creeping. After building up the tech tree and creeping some more I decided to expand to the gold mine right above me while sending two peons to build watchtowers, my ally was also doing the same thing but only adding two more towers for cannon towers to back up the arrow towers, that was when the first attack commenced. Blue had sent his archmage and a handfull of footman to attack blues expansion, after a quick struggle between him and my opponunt I decided to stanch the losses of my ally and town portaled near his town hall, our forces tangoed and he managed to kill the two grunts gaurding my hero(I portaled after a big fight with a level 8 orge and his minions, my guy was only level 3) I sent my tauron on a run, surprisenly blue must not have been paying attention for his guys followed me all over the map, until he relized this and called them back to his base. That is when my ally and I decided to go on the offensive. This is where I took on the strategic end until the end of the game, and my ally reluctuntly followed my orders.( now let me tell you that even though these two strageties were kinda obsolite and old school they still worked like a charm, well,... at least one did) My ally scouted both bases with his first gyro copter, blue had a Very large contingancy of watch towers, so we decided not to attack him yet, but after flying over pinks base we saw that his forces were eather still creeping or he had none at all. I told my ally to send what ever forces he had to the entrance of blues base to stop any reinforcments that he would send( he only sent 5 knights his hero and a couple of footmen so I doubted that they would hold up against blues forces but I brushed my doubts aside and sent my 2 groups, that consisted of grunts, head hunters, my hero, and some raiders, to pinks base. When my forces reached his base I began attacking his expansion below, and sure enough my allys forces were attacked by supposed reinforcments from blue, I watched the battle go back and forth and to my amazement my ally was beating him back! yes I thought this just might work, but I was wrong. After I had leveled pinks exp. his forces materealized out of the fog of war and began assaulting my troops, even though my forces fought hard their melee attacks couldn't stand up to his ranged and air attacks. My ally had beaten back blues forces and came to hit pink's from the back , he had lousy air attacks as well and the chimeras began eating up his footmen and the hand full of riflemen that had survived the previous onslaught. After my last head hunter died I made a hasty retreat to save my heroe and grunts,while my partner fought on. I quickly began regrouping and calling more troops(this time a bit more head hunters than before) I noticed that my partners teal dots disapeered on the minimap near pinks base, he obviously was beaten back. This time it was our opponunts turn to go on the offensive they sent troops consisting of an archmage, balistas, archers, footmen, riflemen, and the dark elve hero with the blades(can't remember his name) While my partner fought with his newly trained troops I sneaked mine in from the back to form the ever so famous pincer movement. We succeeded in beating back their troops with minimum losses and prepared for the battle ahead.(please note that the stragety used next only didn't work because pink had used the last of his units in the failed assault on teal) A new plan worked in my head, of course its not a brilliant one I still feel that it would have worked. My plan was to have my partner assault blues base wit motaror teams and support, while I sent my forces on the outskirts of pink's base. My plan was for my ally to attack blue enough to get pink to send reinforcments and when those forces attack my ally from behind I would sneek into pinks base and do as much damage as possible. My partner sent in a continguency of knights, footmen, and of course motaror teams( he had pretty much abandoned his hero) to the entrance to blue's base, while I sent a force of 2 catapults, my hero, grunts, raiders, and a kodo beast to the side of pink's entrance, then I ordered the assault on blue. After a few minutes into teal's attack no reinforcments had arrived from pink, soon I grew impatient and attacked headlong into the base, the only resistance I met was an ancient protecter and his hero. After laying waste to the base pink didn't show any message of being defeated, I knew I should have saw that coming, and what of the force of chimeras that he had. Soon my questions were put to rest when 3 damaged chimeras soared into view, these were killed without a single loss, maybe my partner did more damage than I thought. After a few moments of scouting my partner found and attacked a tree of life that was trying to entagle a mine before he killed it pink had left leaving only blue to deal with. I started by sending my catapults to deal with the multiple watchtowers and rushed the rest of my forces past them which is were I started attacking the base, soon my partner sent in another large group of knights(were does he get the funds for em, i mean 290 gold apiece plust god knows what amount of lumber) to help with the attack. After moments of combat gg's were said all around and I advanced to a level two. (jumps in the air shouting hurrayyy)
Like I said this is my first report so If you don't like it i'll understand, just thought that my first victory was worth the 2 hours of typing. |
