Players - Arthur[42](me) vs LeadfootCA
Arthur[42] opts to command a zerg force intending to get mutas before his opponent is able to get a suffient amount dragoons or photon cannons. His opening reflects that:
9 - extractor trick
10 - overlord
12 - hatchery(on top of ramp)
12 - spawning pool
12 - extractor
16 - lair
18 - overlord
18 - overlord
18 - spire
He sends his overlord left to scout and proceeds to make 2 sunken colonies 8 zerglings to defend his ramp.
LeadfootCA chooses protoss and plans to reaver drop on Arthur[42]'s mineral line. Keeping in mind that the enemy is zerg, he lays out the following buildings:
8 - pylon
10 - gateway
11 - assimilator
12 - gateway
16 - cybornetics core
17 - pylon
18 - forge
20 - robotics facility
He sends a probe as a scout and eventually finds the developing zerg base. He then bulks up his defence with 2 zealots and 1 photon cannon strategically placed on his ramp.
Arthur[42] quickly gets 6 mutalisks and sends them to the unsuspecting probes as they mine. However, LeadfootCA has 3 dragoons and a photon cannon to defend. The mutalisks take some chump shots at the probes but when they see a new photon cannon warping in, the run in fear.
Each player takes the time to expand to their natural, and get their economies flowing. Arthur[42] spots the protoss expansion with an overlord and sends 20 speedlings and 10 mutalisks to destroy it. At the same time, his protoss counterpart sends a shuttle with 1 reaver and 2 zealots to drop on the zerg mineral line, the mutalisks spot the shuttle and destroy it right after it drops it's cargo, then clean up the mess, although the reaver and zealots are able to kill a small amount of drones before they are destroyed.
Arthur[42] then sends his force of mutalisks and speedlings to the protoss expansion as a counterattack. The expansion was gaurded with 3 photon cannons, 4 dragoons, and 2 high templars. The attack is semi-successful, as most the defence was destroyed but the nexus and a few workers remain after a couple psionic storms rip apart the zerg attackers.
Both players realize they need to get more expansions to turn the tide of war. Arthur[42] expands at 6' and LeadfootCA to 3'. Arthur[42]'s expansion was quickly uncovered by an observer and was brought down shortly after by dragoons and an archon.
Arthur[42] counter attacks on the 3' protoss expansion with some 20 mutalisks and 50 cracklings. The base was easily brought down, although psionic storms reduce a piece of the zerg army. Having little minerals left in his main and natural, Arthur[42] is desperate to expand and does so to the 3' natural.
At this point, Arthur[42] had a zergling or overlord at every potential expansion and LeadfootCA was in a tough situation. He desperatly expands to the 9' expansion near the top of the map and brings dragoons and high templars to defend it. Seeing the expansion via overlord, Arthur[42] wastes no time getting rid of it.
Then LeadfootCA said something which implied that Arthur[42] had won:
"I have no minerals and i can't expand"
With that he left the game.
