“Embrace the end!’, cried Rage Winterchill in his hoarse ageless voice, throwing away another puny human with a blast from his chill powers. Floating towards the desperate line of defenders as the melee raged around him he felt... enjoyed, the terror he invoked. A young night elven archer, a wisp of a woman, bravely took up her expertly crafted bow and dared a shot at the imposing undead sorceror. Taking a measured and horrificly perverse pleasure in the act Winterchill caught the swift arrow in mid air and crushed it in his long dead skeletal hand. The elfs mysticly textured eyes widened in pure unimbridled terror as the Lich’s cracked and slightly glowing skull turned into a twisted grin. Then she was dead, and Winterchill shifted his focus to more pressing concerns as the last remnant of this ‘attack’ from the defenders was torn apart like cheap cloth...
The well established Human camp was in sight, and Winterchill could see the gleaming peak Mount Hyjal through the beautiful evergreen forest surrounding the majectic summit. Winterchill saw no beauty in it though. The blue flame raging within him was cold as the grave, and he held no mercy for those who opposed the will of the omnipotent legion. Rage looked back over the legion of undead soldiers in confirmation to the collosal form behind him, confirmation for the bloodbath to begin it’s course...
Archimonde the Defiler strode confidently through his camp, stepping on any unfortunate acolyte who was too bothered with bowing in worship to his godlike figure to notice his godlike feet. Archimonde could barely contain his excitement. The ancient enemy he had sworn vendetta upon over ten millenia ago was falling, and falling with amusing ease. Suddenly Archimonde abruptly ended his personal celebrations and quickly initiated a telepathic link with his undead lackey.
“Is all in place?”, he sent quickly, his voice steady.
“As you willed great lord”, came Winterchills obedient and expected reply.
“Good..... we will attack the moment Anethron begins his distraction”, came Archimonde’s immediate response and with that he quickly terminated the link. The deathknell had allready rung for the Night Elves, and the final hour had come...
It had seemed so quick, but now the pleasurable business of killing was done and once more Winterchill floted motionlessly in his hollow existence, as he had for now nigh twenty five years. He had assumed this shell during the second war.. when G’uldan had inadvertantly ushered in a power he could not control. G’uldan was weak, yes. But Ner’Zhul was not and it was with Ner’Zhul alone that Winterchill’s absolute loyalty lay. Now his attention again shifted to his hated master, as he watched with bittersweet anticipation of Archimonde’s ultimate victory... the Demons had at last won...
All was white, and Winterchill knew it burned too. He wanted to scream, to find some conduit for this agony, though none would suffice it seemed, such was the extent of his torment. Then he saw once more, but there was no archimonde. He looked about... there was no army! The others not as strong as he had obviously succumbed to whatever the white light was. Winterchill held no care for his pitiful minions, but he knew that he was weak without their protection of sheer numerical brawn.
He knew not what had happened, nor what was happening. Rage Winterchill knew one thing, he had to escape. That thought in mind he floated as fast as any Lich had ever floated before. Then he stopped and noticed something... there was no presence in his twisted mind! Archimonde was gone! Yet if that was so.. what of Ner’Zhul? If Rage had had a heart it would have skipped a beat.. what of his master?
“NO! That shall not come to pass!”, he screamed hoarsely to open air and deaf trees. He had to escape...
(Blah blah shitty blah blah yea whatever blah blah flame away)
Too short my ass!
