Soren~ vs GoBuS Game 1

And so the story begins....
.....The other day I was sitting in X17, procrastinating that my last report was bullshit. I of course knew that I couldn't accomplish anything by doing so. I spent the next few hours looking for descent games. I had stalked my share of people so far that night, and people were becoming slightly paranoid. I followed one Soren~ into two games in a row, and noticed that he had some pretty nice skills. He, although had versed only newbies, and the battles turned into a one sided conflict.
.....I was once again relaxing in x17, mocking WWC3, "ME WATCHY!" etc. etc. However, most of time I just got banned from games ;[. I decided I should just call it a night when I noticed Soren~, back from another game, and decided It was still early. I took note of his silence, and thought he might be leaving :[. Then I heard, "1:1 anyone?" I thought that playing the game might jeopardize any report I might make. However, no one was responding to Soren~'s request... I heard a few, "No Soren~, you own me" and, "Go To Hell"'s. I had just typed "...Soren, I guess I will.." when someone actually responded. This person, was a one, GoBuS.(Note: not sure if its GoBuS or Go BuS in pronunciation :p.) So I proceeded with the natural, "ME WATCHY!"
.....Soren made the game on none other than the
Lost Temple GaMeI Obs. I started to download, and thought my fate was sealed, and I would be banned :p. However, a true gentleman like Soren, aloud me to remain :D. As I dl'ed a few of Sorens companions joined the game. I listened to them talk about Pot, and sex for about 25 seconds(56k modem ;[ ) and then the game started. I was quite intrigued by the match up. PvZ, 12v3, Soren vs GoBuS.
As I said before Soren was a very talented player, however, GoBuS I had never seen before in my life. The game opened as so...
I took it upon myself to be watching Monty Python, well I wrote this report. Anyway, as you can see a 12 v 3 game, or a similar proxy game such as 9v6, could be tough for an uneducated Zerg. However, After a scout OvieLord notices his opponent on the close side of his main, he decides to go 2nd hatch instead of fast expanse. Soren on the other hand decides to go, 2 gate zealots (like any sane protoss player vs zerg.) However, amidst the concept of rush his zealot from 12 goes to his naturals cliff (it really sucks when that happens) and his rush is then called off. GoBuS is currently teching obviously to hydralisk, and his overlord sees the zealots on Soren's cliff. GoBuS decides now is the time to strike. He decides to throw up an expanse and, at that time, attack. He takes 8-9 lings and, 3 drones to the foot of Soren's Cliff. (I've actually never seen this done, I'm newbie ;/)
Ouch? A Drone split on the cliff, and the lings pour in. Soren has to be hurting now. He recently finished a Cyber core, but dragoons will not help him. GoBuS's tech is move steadily toward hydralisk/ling/lurker. Now the ling harass begins. GoBuS is looking for anything undefended by Dragoons and Zealots. He knows that with micro he can kill some of Soren's tech. The lings run around behind the mineral patch with their sexy speed and, kill a Dragoon, who was lurking by the geyser. Zealots are closing in, so he quickly moved his lings down, he spots a Forge, newly finished, and realizes the threat of cannons, that would force him from Soren's base. However he is not quick enough to destroy the Forge and Zealots chase the lings farther. GoBuS, knowing the game could easily be his, seizes a nearby Gateway. Expelling it from the game. He then is scared off by cannons and leaves Soren to rebuild.
As you can see, Soren starts a Citadel right after the Lings leave. However during all the micro, GoBuS, never functionally started use of his expanse. In short, Soren, easily could get back in this game. He quickly techs to Templar and gets Speedy Zealots. GoBus, now with a functional Expanse, and Hydralisk on the way, is sure that victory is his. He moves his lings back to his natural but is at anytime ready launch an assault. Soren on the other hand has taken back his cliff with several Zealots, and has replaced one of his lost gateways. His templar are ready. His Zealots are ready. He might just have a sporting chance. GoBuS sends his troops to the base of Soren's Cliff. He seems ready to strike. GoBuS sends all of his troops in a mad dash up the ramp. However, lurking just above are 8-9 Zealots ready to repent the foolish attack. GoBuS begins to retreat, but Soren's forces are close behind. Soren sensing a possible counter offensive, might weaken, or possibly beat GoBuS, he sends all that he has.
Soren~ vs GoBuS Game 2
GoBuS, being angry from the last game, knows that he had lost his chance to defeat Soren. He had the game wrapped up, and lost pathetically. Soren, on the other hand had played superbly. He had obviously been unaware that GoBuS might try such a maneuver as Drone Splitting. If GoBuS had not have done that, Soren probably would have won with even more esteem. However, then I wouldn't be reporting this :D. Game 2 Starts as follows...
GoBuS started at 9. Soren at 3. Seeing how well Soren had played last game, GoBuS knew he would need to play superbly to beat him. Soren was quick to do a standard 2 gate, and move quickly to utilize his rush this time. GoBuS however, decided to expand this time and use those minerals to help achieve his goal. GoBuS went 3 hatch=>Pool=>Ling/Speed. Soren went 2gate=>Zealot Rush=>Forge+Tech. The two clashed for the first time at GoBuS' Expanse.
Soren sends his Zealot to try and set up a buffer for more Zealots to come. GoBuS however by this time has lings is ready to repudiate the Zealot. The overall effectiveness of this advance is a number between 0-0.999999. Randomly choose one of those numbers, and you will more than likely be correct.
As you can see, Soren micros his Zealot to safety. Also he starts a Citadel of Adun, and GoBuS starts a Hydra Den. Soren goes back later to scout with a 4 Zealot party, but realizes its not a good idea and runs off when he sees a mass of GoBuS' men. At about this point GoBuS is ready to advance on Soren. Soren has just finished an expanse, and has 3 working gateways. GoBuS has 3 hatchery's, an Expanse, and Hydra/Lurker tech good to go. GoBuS sends a ling to scout and sees Soren's Expansion. At this point he figures it would be good to destroy it.
As you can see there, GoBuS moves forward. I thought he had a good chance of winning with Hydra/Lurk, but he decides to hold off, and offensive Sunk/Spore. He follows up with a lurker contain. This was a kind of senseless move, as it gave Soren time to build up and break out. Also, Soren has Dragoons on the cliff above that Hatchery, which will no doubt tear that thing to pieces easily. Note that during the contain preparations Soren storms a shitload of drones at GoBuS' natural. This hurt GoBuS economy, and thereby spelt his downfall. Also the retarded Hydralisks that he sent to shoot down the retreating Shuttle with 1 Zealot and 2 High Temps, absolutely missed the shuttle. Soren now knows that he is being contains and disagrees with it. He automatically makes 2 Reavers. With the combined forces of Reaver/Templar/Goon/Observer, he is ready to destroy GoBuS.
So Much for a 2 out of 3 :[. GoBuS played really gay-like. I think he just wanted to show off and got owned for it. :P Anyway, I enjoyed watching(and listening) to both of the games, and would love to observer(and BR) another game by these two players. <3 too them both.
For the most part i think this is 10x better than my last BR, and am overjoyed that I can rest for a little while. It took quite awhile to find a descent game to report so this was a tiring process.
Thanks to Mick & Eldritch Evil for explaining Back rounds on the Forum. I over comma'd that thing because I was quite furious at all the time I had wasted trying to get a back round working. It's really easy though ;O. Also thanks to anyone I might have forgotten :D.
