Final Fantasy III:
The Esper Encounter

Welcome to another BlueRibbon Battlereport!
.....Battlereporting, has become a hobby. I've only written two reports, however, I have wrote 3 others sense then, and deemed them not worthy of submission.
Anyways, after my fellow classmates started downloading emulators onto my school's server systems, and then games like "Zelda: A Link to the Past", "Final Fantasy 5", and "Super Mario World", I suddenly remembered playing FF6. (At the mention of 5.) Final Fantasy 6, was essentually Final Fantasy 3, but rereleased on Playstation. I decided, "Hey, instead of doing my work in my Desktop App. class, I could just sit there and play FF3." After downloading it, I played about halfway through the game. One day I casually logged on to find that the entire SNES emulator, and every game, were... DELETED!

I pissed and moaned relizing that I had failed Desktop App. for the quarter and lost the thing I failed it because of.

.....I came home that night and decided to just redownload it on here. Although my mom is a deleting freak, and has on countless occasions deleted, StarCraft, Counter-Strike, and alot of my music, I decided I could obviously hide it from her. I put "ZSNES" (The Emulator of Emulators) and Final Fantasy 3, Zelda, and Contra 3, into a folder marked, "COLIN'S EMULATOR GAMES DO NOT ERASE YOU HOE!" (Guess my name and get a cookie -_-.)

Now the Report on "Final Fantasy 3: The Esper Encounter" begins....

WAFFLE STICKS OWN!
.....After playing this game for at least 30 hours, the last time I played it, I kind of remember just about everything. And for the stuff I forgot, PLAYERS GUIDE! :]. I booted up FF3 (As I will periodically refer to it) and began a long journey into the magical world of SquareSoft (Now SquarEnix... BAD MOVE SQUARE! STAY SOLO O_O) Squaresoft has always been my favorite game maker. The first time I played Final Fantasy 7, I was inveloped in the magical world. I loved the story, the gameplay, the Ideology, everything. I couldnt wait for 8, or 9, or 10. I've played every Final Fantasy except for 2, and 3, as they are in Japanese, and thats just no fun. You just have to let the story take you in. Anyways, As we start out on this journey through time and space, we find our Hero, "Terra" named only "?????". You don't discover her name until about 5 minutes into the game. Her, and her two comrads, "Vicks" and "Wedge" on a cliff, overlooking a village. This tiny village is a Mining town along a river, but slightly tucked into a mountain. Vicks, and Wedge are talking none-senseably at first but you slowly understand what they are refering to. You, Terra, are an enslaved Magic user. You ware a slave crown on your head curtisy of Kefka, whom we will meet shortly. You are unable to have any conscious thought, and only obey orders. (However for comically purposes the Grey boxes in the pictures represent me, if I were her with conscious thought. ^_^) The credits are placed there strickly because, I liked this game, and would in no way not give due credit to the creators. The three of them set out for the town. This town will be a descent portion of the game. On two other occasion, I beileve you return here.

You think I don't have conscious thought? Fuck you guys. Take this damned thing off my head, and I'll lay the smack down on you like Firebats vs Zerglings

As the party of three approach the city, the weather begins to get worse. A horrible blizzard rages around the foot of the mountain, and there vision is impaired. They seemingly make it to the town blindly through the snow. When they arrive Wedge and Vicks decide to give the Magi the point and take no chances. The magi is unhappy with this decision, to say the least. As they wade through the town, they are greeted by an unfriendly watch party on 4 different occasions. They prove to be little more than cannon fodder for the Magitek Armor. The Magitek Suits are provided by the "Empire." They harbor secret magical uses that are actually very strong. Firebeam, BoltBeam, IceBeam, and Heal Force, make up the blunt of the skills. However on Terra's personalized Suit, She has a few other moves. Tek Missle, fires a missle that does about 500 damage. Confuser, is kind of obvious. There are others but, you only get the Armor for a 5-7 minute period, and they arent really that fabulous. As the crew makes there way to the Mines in the back of the city, another watch party attacks them. This one has more than just dogs, and soldiers. It has Wolly Mammoths!

My dog is annoying the fuck out of me right now. I'm going to have him put down. AFK! The save points on this game frigin sucks.

Little did I know that my companions were such fucking idiots. "Maybe this Mine?" ITS THE ONLY MINE. As we made our way through the mine, Vicks decides to ram one of the door with his fatass. I could have just set it on fire. It is only wood -_-. Anyway, As the door to the shaft now lies open, I moved forward. I noticed around me that the mine is really damp. It is very well lit, notifing me that there are probably more enemies ahead. I walk through the door and am suddenly pushed back by a guard. "FOR NARSHE!" or something, and he sends me my first boss fight. A giant snail.... Well considering Contra III's first boss is a giant turtle, I'll go with the snail. As the battle begins Vicks and Wedge consalt about their breifing. They talk about a enemy that stores energy in its shell, and state "so don't attack the shell...." I decided, "HAHAHHAHA, I LAUGH IN THE FACE OF LIGHTNING!" and attacked the shell....

GRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

After quickly loading from that save point, I went and did the same thing over. This time I listen to Vicks and decide not to attack the shell. After defeating the Snail....
Ahem. Once again, I LAUGH IN THE FACE OF LIGHTNING!

....I quickly move my team through the door. After encountering no one but rats.... you notice the Esper mounted on the wall. As I approach Wedge and Vicks appear from within me, like they always do, and "ooo" and "ahhhh" at the Esper. However, then things turn for the worst for my companions. The Esper zaps my companion to dust, and I lose consciousness (ALTHOUGH I SUPPOSEDLY DIDN'T HAVE ANY!)

HAHAHAHAH, I LAUGH IN THE FACE OF ...... !! OH SHIT!

Later, you awake to find yourself in some man's comfortable bed. Not like that you fucking sickos. You wake up and an older looking man begins to talk to you. He tells you about the Slave Crown atop your head, and how he removed it. He also tells of how the Empire was controlling you for some mad plot to steal the Esper. He trys to restore your memory by, asking your name, and you reply. After which the soldiers from before, slam on the door. They yell to the old man to turn you and the Magitek armor over to them. He old man quickly pulls you to your feet and informs you to leave out the back way. As you are running from the law, you notice the back way leads over toward those damp mines again. The law spots you as you cross the bridge between canyons and runs around to find an enterance. As you continue to run through the mines you find yourself at a final door. However before you are able to enter it the guards come through it. Also from the secret passage from the old mans house comes two more guards. You are seemingly trapped between the two groups of enemies. However, what would a Final Fantasy series be that is this short. Magically the ground falls out from under you and you fall to the lower level.

I really hate these frigin save points JESUS CHRIST!

You quickly fall unconscious and dream of what has happened to you sense the slave crown was put on. Kefka, a lord to the leader of the "Empire" had placed you under complete government control, and was using you to guide himself to power. Through your emense powers, combined with Magitek, you were a match to not underestimated even by other Magitek soldiers. Using the Esper's, Kefka was able to take there energy, and make Magitek Armored Units. With these the Empire grew very quickly. Kefka and his laugh echo through your dreams and you are unable to think straight. You awake to find that you are not yet in the control of the guards. Things begin to race through your mind, and the one things that is the clearest is to stand up, and run for your life.

Freaky dream indeed :O

I will be writing several more of these and hopefully follow up by finishing the game through battlereports. If it is at all a sucsess, I might just But Final Fantasy 7 for the PC and make a large Report from that too :]. I hope you enjoyed the Beginning segment. The next one will be longer.

Authors Note: If you wish to download the Emulator or the game, this can be done at http://www.EmulationStation.com or at http://www.ZSNES.com. In order to legally keep these games on your PC, you must own the respected cartridges. (Which I do :O.) I know there are spelling errors, please don't bother me with them. Once again I hope you enjoy.

Lessons Learned:
1. Don't play games during Desktop App. which I actually turned up a 90 from a 60, but still :]
2. Don't trust your Mother with anything that is important to you on your PC. -_-
