The two combatants lined up across the ether from each other, growling and sweating about the matchup to come. The counter fell from five to zero, and the game on Challenger commenced!!

-Flathead-, drawing Protoss, warped in with his initial forces at the top starting location. His opponent, who shall remain nameless and faceless (to be referred to as NF form now on) went random, and got the Terrans in the bottom start position.

At first, -Flathead- didn't have a clue what to do, so he just warped in two gateways. NF, equally confused, went with a 2 barracks build. Both combatants sent peons to scout. -Flathead- wondered after it had been about 10 seconds too long, where NF's scouting peon had gone. So when the first zealot warped in, -Flathead- sent it on attack-move towards the enemy base, and was met at his choke by a bunker with 1 marine in it. Offensive bunkers!!!! There was also an SCV there, ready to repair. This was a bad, bad situation for good ol' -Flathead-...

-Flathead- waited until he had three zealots, then sent them back to the choke. NF was constructing another bunker, forward this time, but out of range of the first bunker. This was an error on NF's part, because the zealots happily dispatched the SCV, then started whacking on the incomplete bunker. The bunker was canceled and -Flathead- attacked the other (getting it's 2nde and 3rd marine) bunker. As he brought it into view, another SCV slid up from the fog of war and began repairing the bunker. -Flathead- sent two zealots back to base and left one to kill the SCV. The one brave zealot killed the SCV just as he vaporized into the ether, at which time -Flathead- sent three more zealots to kill the bunker.

Now there were 4 marines in the bunker, and all three zealots (because 2 were injured in the previous battle) were killed as the bunker was brought well into the red, on fire and very very close to burning down.

-Flathead-, thinking he had broken the bunker, sent the very next two zealots to finish the bunker, and discovered that his crafty opponent, NF, had brought a THIRD SCV up from his base, and was already repairing the bunker. Cursing and retreating the zealots, -Flathead- quickly searched his data-banks to find a way to beat this. Since brute force wasn't working, -Flathead- opted for:

BRUTE FORCE instead.

-Flathead-, knowing that the bunker push was at his choke and that most of NF' attention appeared to be focused on it, knew he had a couple of minutes before he was in real trouble. -Flathead- mused that this must be one of the secrets in beating the bunker push; avoid panicking at all costs. A third gateway was erected, along with an assimilator and and cyb core. -Flathead- built a force of 5 zealots while waiting for the cyb core, and then switched to dragoons. After 3 dragoons had been gotten, -Flathead- went on the attack.

He went with the dragoons first, and targeted the one SCV that was there. This guy was good at repairing, and -Flathead- didn't want him to get a chance. Then, the 5 zealots slammed into the bunker, whilst all 4 marines inside and the 5 marines outside the bunker fired. As two more dragoons popped from the gateways, the 4 marines that were left over finished up the Protoss troops. -Flathead- had finally gotten the bunkers out of his choke!! He erected a citadel and then 3 more dragoons popped. The reinforcement dragoons finished the lefover marines, and those 5 went on to the enemy town.

When they arrivedat the enemy base, NF had a factory most of the way done, an academy, assorted supply depots, and a bunker near his peons, with 1 firebat and 3 marines in it. The dragoons attacked so quickly that the bunker was killed before any SCV's got to repair. Then it was a matter of pushing in with dragoons for several minutes until the Terran forces were consumed.

-Flathead- wiped the sweat from his brow, knowing he had dodged a bullet with only infantry troops. Had NF started the offensive bunkering a little closer to the protoss base, it could have been a different game altogether.

NF, being a gracious sport, mentioned that he almost had -Flathead- on this day, then said "GG" and left the battle.
