Lifetime Rating for Mind Twist: 4.1333 |   | Well, I just had two 2on2s with the kind folks of NWTR. Bnet was lagging, and the 2nd one was extremely hard to get going, but was funky from the beginning. The first one would've been fun, if not for one of the players dropping, as you'll read below. A couple of things to remember b4 continuing on to the BRs:
NOTE: These are short and pointless. If you're looking for a Cattle Bruiser quality report, go elsewhere :)
NOTE: I've had a trend in my BRs.. they all are about pointless games and are written becuz im Mad, Bored, or both :p
I didn't ask if it was ok to give out names, so I won't.. Although I doubt any of them care, I just want to make sure :) The first game was supposed to be a BR from another player in it but alas, it was only a game worthy of my BRs :)
Game1: on a homebrewed map called Vengeance, a shakuras-tileset form of Snow Conquest (Pretty much, not identical)

Badguy2-Zerg-Random-10:00ish
I come in to see 2 things I don't like..1) my teammate and I are fairly far away.. If one of us gets singled out it'll be bad. 2) We're both toss.. a multi-racial team would be better, IMO.
Anyways, I do the horribly standard 8-pylon, 10-gate, 12-gate, 13 pylon. My opponent got his first gate out faster, so I assume he did either a 7 or a 7.5 pylon, or something similar. But I am the one scouting first, with the 8th probe zooming across the map queued to go to where I'm guessing the starts are.
He comes by badguy1, and incase my teammate doesn't notice it (the probe skirts the base and leaves quite fast) I say simply "zerg double hatch." Only seconds later I see a teal dot heading bravely towards the zerg base to catch him off guard.
I continue troop production and start an assim followed by a cybercore, with goons in mind. As my teammates zeals are smashing the guy's base, he drops (He was lagging at the very start of the game as well :(
B4 that tho, my lil probe ran down the left side of the map and found Badguy2, doing nearly the same strat, double hatch with a pool soon after the 2nd hatch starts morphing.
6 zeals from me and 7-8 from my teammate (i left a few back home incase of some last-ditch assault) massed outside the ramp of Badguy2 and slaughtered him, we allied.. Too bad, I had a buttload of pylons, a 3rd gate, and excess cash to start massing and molesting :(

This game sucked, I got zerg. I did double hatch with pool shortly after, and sometime my ally finds teal terran. I am wondering what he was doing with 3 rax next to a terran (I always thought infantry wasn't wise vs another terran, even though it WAS 2on2..) Well, as I send zerglings across the map and work on my economy I notice he rushes the teching Terran. A long time goes by as he even constructs a bunker next to the mineral line.
Of course, As I have a hatchery warping in at an exp spot, He says soemthing along the lines of "oh shit" and i minimap over to his base. Some zeals, and some DT. His soundcard was fried or something, so he stood no chance :(
It's just cleanup for the 2 badguys as they swipe down my exp and then my main. I guess we allied, I dunno hehe :p
Conclusion: 2on2s rock! It's ok to die cuz most of the time it's doubleteam crap, so that gives me an excuse!! Only problem with 2v2s is you're not really efficient unless you have a standard teammate (ie J_V and mark4, they know how each other works so they do good).. random partners is tough :p
I couldn't log back on to bnet (seems BW locked up after both games ended), so I came to write these to waste time. I'm off to find another 2on2 (hopefully) :p |
