By the way I dunno if these people are who they claim. Truly I dunno. I do know that Everlast is quite good.
Disclaimers aside Lameking chooses terran and gets 12 and I draw random toss at 3. Oh he made the game on temple.
Knowing he was terran I went for my normal DT contain strat. Making 1 zealot and racing up the tree. After his scv manages to kill 1 probe through an annoying series of hit and runs I chase it off then later kill it with a zealot which I send to scout.
At his base I notice one factory done and another almost finished. Sensing vultures I pump a couple goons and hold my choke which is good because soon a couple speeders try to crash the party. I chase them away and move out to his choke.
He sends out a squad of rines with vultures and pushes me back to my choke as our dance of death continues.
I hear spidermines being laid out in quick succession as 2 dt pop out. I begin an expansion at 6 and use a zealot and goon to plow a path through the mines to his choke so I can contain with my dt. I kill several marines there before he realizes it and retreats into his choke. Not wanting to loose DT to mines I set up camp with 1 dt at his natural and 1 at his choke.
4 gates are pumping zeals and HT rallied to my choke. I get a robo bay and expand to my natural and begin upgrading. I loose my dt at his choke and realize the push is on. I have around 10 zeals 5-6 goons and 3 HT. Feeling confidnet I warp 3 gates in at 6 and prepare to assult his push. 1 HT goes up in a ball of irradiation and attempts to storm before his death, but a tank blast sends him to Shakarus.
I rush in my units and control my HT looking for something to storm. Doh I forgot to research STORM!! I retreat my HT but manage to loose all my ground troops to him loosing 2-3 tanks.
Feeling sad I immidetely research storm and throw down 3 more gates at 6 bringing my total to 9. I can hear the seige approaching and ready my troops. 2 HT go up in smoke but not before getting off key storms. I send in 14-15 zeals and SHIT I realize I forgot speed. WTF is wrong with me I wonder?? He abuses dmatrix and irradiate so many zeals die. The only tanks I kill in fact are due to friendly fire splash :)
I expand to the natural at 6 and using a shuttle begin to ferry out probes. Accepting this push is going to finish my main. I use goons and templar to hold him off but Im really just playing the delay game.
At this point I realize he has expanded to his natural and use my dt to kill a couple scvs before that fun ends.
I throw down 4 more gates and pump zealots like a madman. His attack force consisted of mass tanks sci vessesls and a few marines. I was thinking that the game was over since I havent managed to really kill any tanks and he was repairing like a madman.
Good news for me. As my last probes are using the escape shuttle they get a glimpse of his tanks unsieging and moving. HERE WAS MY CHANCE! I send 24 zeals on attack move to my old main. He uses 2 matrix and 1 irradiate. Unfortnately for him the tank he irriadiated died almost instantly and he ended up dmatrixing my lead zealot! WHOO HOO
I end up killing a 8-9 tanks with no losses. Many zeals however had scrathed shields - and there was much rejoicing.
I have a LOT of probes mining 2 bases but my quest for resources causes me to expand to 9 and my old natural again. I use 4 control groups of mixed ground and templar to control the middle. I considered attacking but a couple of scouts got massively pounded by tanks so we decided to wait.
I made 6 gates at 3 bringing my total to 16. My ground was 2/3/1 and had 6 charged corsair. Supply limit hits and I decide to attack.
OH MY OH MY
Massive carnage. I go from 200/200 to 110/200 in about 16 seconds. He has about a zillion tanks and gollies behind barracks and depots.
On a better note I did manage to kill his wall of barracks and maybe 1 tank. Not a good trade off but i have 4 bases in full swing.
He pushes out and I send in 2 control groups with templar but he is too well spread out and I manage only to kill a couple tanks.
I consider carriers but they take too long to buid and I have only 1/0 air upgrades. I am thinking I may loose when he makes a ?mistake? and pushes into my old natural and upon seeing this large commitment I send 4 control groups of mixed ground troops into his main and one into his natural.
He calls gg and tells me he is rusty.
Bottom line is he tank pushed to perfection. He had support units, great spacing, and did it rather fast. However he couldnt keep up with my unit production due to my vastly superior economy.
Was it the real Lameking? I dunno. It was a fun game though and we disscussed what a best terran option is. I dunno I think temple is really tough for terran vs toss. |
