I went 7 pylon, that probe to scout 9 Gate 10 assim 11 or 12 cyber core (the only thing i truly remembered about my build was how horrible i thought it was)
Incindently i believe he used a similar (if not the same) build order as me.
I choose to use a pylon/battery at my choke rather then a cannon. Little did i know that that little building would win the game for me. Along with my battery i blocked off the choke with a trio of happy go-lucky fanatical zealots.
About this time I notice Moe is running to the 9 spot with a zealot and probe on his tail, luckily for him they break off and Moe happily sits at the 9 position for most of the game stroking his antannae.
MID GAME AND CLOSE BATTLES
Nothing really happens until I get my shuttle. Once my shuttle pops out I begin my insidious plot to take over the islands by dropping off a probe at the top left island. Soon after my shuttle an observer followed by a reaver come out. My observer flies into our little friend's base to find that goons are lined along his cliff as if they were cannons. However he has no cannons save one next to his Nexus.
I queue up a few goons, a shuttle and a reaver back in my base and send my shuttle to the bottom left corner to sneak into his base. I am able to drop my reaver and goon but lose the shuttle to goon fire. I end up killing a few of his probes and a cannon as well as screwing with his mind.
The counter attack: He sends about 6-8 goons to my choke to try and blast their way in. I had 3 zealots blocking the ramp 1 cannon 1 battery and 2 goons sitting there. With judicious use of the battery my forces (ending up being 4 goons at one point) kill most of his with the loss of 2 goons, a cannon and 2 zealots.
My shuttle just pops out so i grab our happy little insect spitting korean slug and two of his happy go-lucky fanatic friends to fly in to his base and cause some chaos. Once again he loses a few probes and I loose my drop force.
At this point my Island Expansion is going full steam and is protected by cannons. I have observers watching most of the map including the one at his base when i notice...2 reavers plopping themselves into a shuttle: This can't be good.
This time 10-12 goons come knocking at my choke with 2 reavers (I could just barely see the shuttle dropping them off) at this time my choke defenses were 1 reaver 4 goons the battery and a cannon. Once again my forces barely held off the assault and i believe he retreated a few goons but lost both reavers.
LATE GAME AND EXPANSION KILLIN
Through one of my happy observer's eyes i see him trying to expand to the island. This must not be allowed. I gra a reaver a templar and a zealot to go play. I send them to the south side of the base drop off the templar and storm a defending goon to death then drop the reaver and zealot which kill the defending reaver, however my force is waxed by 2 defending cannons and a goon (he built a gateway on the island). My shuttle flies off to get some more cannon fodder this time in the form of 2 reavers. The reavers remove any major defense against the island. My shuttle runs back to base grabs a probe, a templar, and a goon to send them back to the island hot spot to defend and secure.
At this point I notice two things. 1. My main is running dry. 2. Moe (you do remember Moe don't you?) noticed an expansion attempt at the 9 position. I quickly grabbed a reaver and 2 dark templar (I made them before to exploit his lack of cannons) and dropped them at the expansion attempt. I lost both templar but the expansion was no more. While doing this i made a nexus at my natural then transfered my probes over. It had no defense save for the 18+ walkin dead 2+ Yuri Gellers 2+ Korean slugs sitting next door.
Now I notice something else. With all the intense micro of my troops I have 2.5k/2.5k (about) in the bank. To allivate this problem (it might just cause inflation) i drop down 2 more gateways (for a total of 5) and 2 more forges. I begin to pump goons, temps (more goons then temps of course), reavers, observers, and upgades. I was already at 1/0/1 and began the rest of the upgrades asap.
I spy with my little eye something that starts with a W. Women? Water? no. Warping nexus, this time at the 3 spot. 2 reavers 1 goon 1 zealot and 1 templar later the abomination is gone.
A short lull as I assess the situation. Me: Expansions 3. Army: Roughly 24+ goons 6 templar and 4-6 reavers. Supply in the 180's.
Once again i notice two more things. He's expanded to his natural and the 9 spot. Bad boy, very very bad, this can't last. I walk 6 goons and 2 templars over to his base and begin pounding. his defenses cut me down to 2 goons and an archon then later nothing. He killed one of my drunken walkin dead!! He must pay. I take three shuttles and send over goons, templar and reavers to get rid of the 9 spot. Due to my idiocy a few dark templar leave me with 1 templar running away in a shuttle. Now this expansion is annoying me. I hotkey a group of goons and send them to the cliff (this time with an observer) and another group of goons and send them outside his natural. I start my attack at the 9 spot hit 2 (the other group of goons) and attack move them to his natural. After a short time of storms flying back and forth goons spilling some weird blue liqour like substance....hey!!! That explains it!! Goons can't walk straight because their disembodied heads are being soaked in malt liqour!!!! Anyway.......back to the BR. My goons overwhelm both expansions and he calls 'gg'. We chat for a bit then ally vic (my offer).
Lessons learned
- Goons walk funny cuz their constantly drunk
- Never Let Up attacking, he was always on the defensive.
- I expanded before him and kept both islands which prevented him from hurting my economy.
