One zerg, Twip, and one protoss, YRM. I start off teching to tanks. I believe no one rushed that game. I scouted late game and noticed that ducky had one tank before I even had my first factory, that stupid SCV died. Then i scouted out twip, saw an early expansion and then saw his 2 hatcheries and another building and a hydra den. I immediately assumed he was going straight for hydras. Next, I scout out YRM and then I see like 3 photons at his choke.
I then take my time expanding and I also expand to the upper left of the map after a little skirmish. By this time i have 30+ marines and medics and 14 tanks in dropships ready to drop Twips main. Its going great...until I see like 12 guardians come out of no where. Needless to say, my drop failed miserably. I immediately switched gears to produce wraiths and goliaths. Not having good recon Twip decides to wait for something and not attack my expansion at which he was rallying his troops at.
I then rush 8 wraiths into his gaurdians and kill every last one of them. Around this time ducky has to leave to eat dinner or something. Before he leaves he says "I'm leaving and NOT because templar are gay."
I'm doing fine on minerals and start massing my wraith/valkyrie/goliath squad. On my recon I notice YRM's 12+ carriers just sitting in the middle of the map with no detection. I send 4 wraiths and 2 valks in on one side and 12 cloaked wraiths on the other. My plan works and in the confusion YRM doesn't realize 2 squads are attacking him. I destroy at least 5 of the 12 carriers before they retreat.
Again, on my constant com-sat recon i notice 12 guardians, a few muta and scourge and 12 overlords(which were full of hydras i think) I rush in with my massive wraiths and kill all the guardians and at least 3/4 of of the overlords losing only 4-5 of my wraiths.
Then i decide the zerg is not a threat anymore as he had no more expansions. I begin to tank push one of YRM's expansion. I am just sending my other tanks to YRM's other WORKING expansion when the drop screen comes up. I know that he did not disconnect as I've heard good things about YRM which I assumed were true.
I did not push the drop player button so it had to be Twip who did it. Why would I push the drop button when I'm playing with someone who I have looked up to ever since I read some of his awesome battle reports? If you were actually playing a game with someone you admired, would you drop them? or stay and fight so you could say you played a full game with this person.
Then I attacked Twip with firebats/tanks/goliaths/wraiths and completely obliterated. When I began attacking Twip he said that YRM whispered him saying that he had the game won. This truly pissed me off!!! ARGH, I just played an excellent game myself and was not about to take that.
He says he was waiting for an arbiter...uh, so? Arbiters wouldn't do much good against someone with a science vessel and 2 comsat stations almost full of energy. According to my recon, YRM had no effective counter to my squad of units.
You can think what you want YRM, but as long as I know that I had that game in the bag, I'm just fine. |
