Chapter 2
the training
Leading the Vulture Squadron Alpha, we were the front line. In the midst of my flashbacks, I was unable to acknowledge the fact that the sky was turning too cloudy, too quickly. Damn, BOYS, quickly, full stop ahead! As I heard multiple Yes, Sirs, I knew I was a little too late. As the psionic energies of a Templar gathered among the stars, clouds of varying strengths gathered on top. Then without further warnings, the world was engulfed in a blue streak of millions of volts, jolting through everything between the heavens and earth. The bright, yet unstable sky cracked under, creating a deafening atmosphere, where all life seemed to face the apocalypse. The electronics within the Vultures had fried from the surge, but because all men were inside, all twelve of us got out safely. But it wasn't over. A streak after another, branched out creating something akin to a spider-web, where all living was caught, unable to move, then brought to death. It seemed like eternity facing our death. But finally the energy of the Templar seem to have depleted, and the clouds started to fade and the psionic storm quickly scattered. We quickly stimmed ourselves up, and holed that bastard. The skies have once again calmed, but the scene of ozone, and the emptiness filled our hearts. It have been a long time since I fought a battle as a marine…
The imprinted image had not faded, but it was a long time since I saw General Ricco. Well, I did SEE him, but it never turned into any kind of talk or anything. It was purely coincidental that our relationship bloomed to what it is today.
I had worked long hard years grinding my teeth to get older. Instead of wasting time, I usually snuck into training rooms, and class rooms to listen to lectures and learn about the strategic war tactics. I learned further on the importance of the war with Zergs, for it could mean the end of humanity for all I know. Three years had passed by, and many of my 'fellow' men have gone away to hell. I was as lonely as a strain of sand amidst an ocean. It was real hard to keep a friendship either because I was so bitter, or because no one stayed alive enough to start a relationship.
When I finally turned 15, the legal age to fight in the military. I already knew more than most Lieutenants, and with no doubt the Privates. I started my official training for the infantry, and for the first time in my life, I was inside an SCV.
To be continued…
P.S- for your information, this is the guideline for the military Jim Raynor is in. All military members must learn and train in a SCV before becoming a fighter.
The SCV teaches the basic fighting skills as well as perfecting machinery.
After SCV, you get a choice: the infantry, or the machinery. The infantry is the marine, the firebats, and the ghost, and any member can join except for ghosts which require prior examination on psychic powers.
The machinery include the vultures, the tanks, and the goliaths. In order to become a Air-fighter, you must have had a machinery as a prerequisite.
The Air-fighter need two years of basic flying training, as well as perfecting any position under machinery. They include the SV, wraiths, valkyries, dropships, and the almighty Battle Cruiser….
In order to fly the wraiths, you must have passed the test ghosts require. Because wraiths are meant for covert operations, they often are subject to cloaking. Normal person cannot with stand the mental stress of cloaking and must possess an equal level mental capacity as a ghost.
The battle cruiser also has a separate prerequisite, which is perfecting another flying vehicle.
Hehe, I finished chapter 2…well, what did you think? As I mentioned before, THE EVENTS IN MY STORY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE REAL SC BACKGROUND. I only used familiar names so that people feel more close to them than they really are.
Anyways, the story is coming along fine, and I thank you for your support.
Just a question for the raters, do you guys only read or rate ONLY if the BR is Not Rated, or over 7?
It was just my observation…..
Comment A LOT so I feel loved….hehe.
