Going Out of Style.......

Map: Big Game Hunters (a.k.a. Lost Temple)

Players:

Dingbat- White Protoss

Wickedstlye - Blue Terran

It all started with Mark4 asking all of Nohunters if anyone wanted to BR an i2e2 game with XDs, I said I would, but since I had no 9 reports he wouldn't let me. The funny thing is, it took him like 5 minutes to find someone who would BR it. Anyway, I went around looking for a game to BR. I found this one and have resolved to get a 9 on it. I don't see how I can though, I dont have photoshop nor can I make little movies, but I'm gonna paint my little heart out to the best of my ability. Enjoy.

The game began with Dingbat as protoss in the bottom start position and Wickedstyle occupying the 3:00 plateau. Dingbat was the first to scout with his 8th probe. He found Wickedstyle walling in with a barracks and supply depots, and managed to get away without losing his little worker. Dingbat then said "gg". Go figure. Anyway, he stayed in and began construction of a Gate-Assim-Core-Citadel-Archives, I'm assuming to get early DTs, but built mostly goons and only 2 DTs. Wickedstyle, on the other hand went hard HM, using a flawless BO. He took his first 4 vultures and 2 marines to see what kind of comotion he could stir up at Dingbat's main. He managed to lay a good number of mines at Dingbat's expansion before dragoons and zealots chased them away.

Wickedstyle had 2 factories at this point, both pumping vultures and tanks. He started to siege his tanks up at his choke and on his ledge. Dingbat took 2 of his goons and 2 of his Dark Templar and headed for Wickedstyle's base, the DTs with thoughts of undetected rape racing through their minds. Dingbat then did the dumbest thing he could have, he said "you better get detection, and quick" Way to go Dingbat, thats how you suprise someone: ) Anyway, Wickedstlye took the warning to heart and laid mines all over his base and began construction of an ebay. Dingbat's attack was expectedly repeled and his remaining troops gathered at his choke alongside a growing number of dragoons and zealots.

lWickedstyle hurries to ready his base for the DTs

Wickedstyle throws up another factory as he extends his tanks and mines out into the middle of the map. Dingbat simultaneously starts an expansion at the 9:00 position. Dingbat's troop count increases in the middle as Wickedstyle's tank push grows. Turrets are being constructed to protect against DTs, which is wise, considering Dingbats 4 stealth assasins standing at his choke. A vulture is sent to scout the left main and finds Dingbat's expansion. The vulture manages to do, well, nothing really, just sit there and look cool as a newly warped cannon blows him to hell. Meanwhile, Wickedstyle gets 2 dropships and loads up a few of his tanks to go turbo-newbie Dingbats natural. The 2 drops pass over 4 dragoons on the way, however, and only one of the transports survives.

Dingbat manages to get his expansion up and running and Maynards a group of probes to begin mining. Wickedstlye gets an expansion of his own at his natural and starts to push his tanks even further out into the middle. He has 4 factories now, pumping tanks and vultures constantly. That means he has a lot of tanks. Im thinkin' that the game is over now, Wickedstyle has the middle of the map and about a zillion tanks and vultures to back it up. But I have a habit of being wrong. Dingbat decides that Wickedstyle has had enough fun with his tanks and brings in.....well, I'll just show you.

Not enough troops to do the job, thats what he brought in. During this time Wickedstyle began constructing a turret-bunker-rax defense at the 12:00 ramp. He had planned on securing the plateau before he invested in a CC, but his plans were...made more interesting...with the help of one of Dingbat's probes. He ran a probe in before the bunker was finished, constructed a pylon and warped in 2 cannons right along side the unfinished CC. Didn't do much, but it was, ehrm, *cute*.

Wickedstyle dispenses the pylon and cannons and starts to build another factory next to his new science facility. Sci-Vessels start appearing a few minutes later, as well as, guess what, more tanks. Dingbat also installs a nexus at his mineral only expansion and puts in 2 gateways to feed his growing army in the middle. Wickedstyle unloads an SCV at the bottom right island and begins to surround it with missles turrets. He also pushes his tanks a tad further into the middle. Dingbat has had enough of the tank threat and marches in yet another army of goons, observers, and zealots. This time the job gets done. Wickedstyle almost quit but I told him not to, because he was still very much in the game.

Die communist bastards!

The tanks and their vulture pals are eliminated and the goon army marched on to Wickedstyle's ramp, but 5 factories can pump tanks fast and the goons have to retreat from the ledge firing tanks. They do however avert their attention to the 12:00 main. The army of wrathful spiders blasted into the expansion and raped the naked, bent-over buildings. Wickedstyle realizes that he must do something quickly or Dingbat will take control of the map. He loads up all of his remaining tanks and vultures into 6 dropships and heads off for Dingbat's 9:00 expansion. The tanks unload and the vultures lay mines to protect against DTs, but amidst the chaos of pounding tanks and mad dragoons, Wickedstyle loses his entire vulture force because of a misplaces mine. The dragoons soon finish the job, and the expansion rests easy. I'm think that the game has been won, but when I looked back at Wickedstyle's base, he had a mass of dragoons and tanks ready to go. He loads up another dropship with 2 tanks and heads off for Dingbat's natural. He manages to unload and destroy most of the probes mining there, but a flying bannana shows up and dismisses the turbo-newbie. Things are looking dismal for Wickedstyle at this point, but desperate men sometimes do desperate things. Wickedstyle whips out the his grimy vulture gang, and heads off into the sunset looking for adventure. He finds in the form of Dingbat's new expansion at 12:00. The vutures throw cans of beer at everything in their path, and the explosive brew manages to level the enemy encampment. Then the dragoon police show up and arrest them everyone.

Realizing that that was Wickestyle's last attempt at victory, Dingbat moves his massive army of dragoons, carriers, zealots, and DTs in for the kill. Wickedstyle offers his "gg"s and quits out.

lessons learned

Vultures are the best unit in the game because, well, shut up, I don't have to give reasons!

5 Factories can make a lot of stuff really fast.

I really don't think that I'm going to get a 9 on this.

Big battles are much cooler than little ones.

All the raters are the coolest people on the planet, and they all deserve puppies.(hint, hint)

Thanks for reading
