Well this report starts the same way any other one does, sitting in No Hunters trying to find a game to observe. After about 20 excruciating minutes I was able to find a 1v1 to watch.
The map (as if I need to tell everyone) was the ubiquitous Lost Temple. I can hear the groans now...but bare with me please. =)
Let's meet the players!
[dm]NiTRaTE was orange and warped in at the 6:00 position.
and
King_[LSRS-13] yellow who warped in at the 3:00 position.
Early Game
This game started innocently enough when our heroic terran King_[LSRS-13]( ok actually he turns out to be rather whiny but that's our secret ok?)starts his build with a Barracks on the 8th SCV and then in the most elite move of the night builds a depot at the bottom of his ramp, and to the side, completely useless. Eventually a second Barracks is thrown together. Bunkers are thrown up near his command center and all seems well for the moment.
Meanwhile, [dm]NiTRaTE starts shouting out his intentions to go for a six pool. King_[LSRS-13] starts crying about how cheap the Zergling six pool of doom was even thought it was already about 3 minutes past prime six pooling time. The true intentions of NiTRaTE was to go early second hatchery at the natural and turtle up a bit to go for the dreaded anti terran unit known as the Lurker.
Here is the first expansion of the game.
Mid Game
After NiTRaTE throws up his expansion he heads straight for lurkers, with minimal zergling support. In fact the only zerglings seeing the light of day in this game were summarily executed when they were found scouting. NiTRaTE quickly found King's main at the 3:00 position and camped an overlord over the terran's natural.
King FINALLY sends out a heroic SCV to scout for the cerebrate's base of operations. Our heroic SCV manages to breach the impervious wall in of *gasp* CREEP COLONIES
The SCV manages to get up his courage to attack the hydralisk den of the Cerebrate and actually does quite a bit of damage as NiTRaTE still has no active offensive force. Soon a group of battle hardened drones is able to dispatch of the resourceful mechanism.
The scouting thus complete King doesn't realize that a Hydralisk Den vs. Terran could possibly mean trouble for infantry and builds mass M+M+F's anyway. Go figure *shrugs*.
Just look at all these infantry members just waiting to be mercilessly slaughtered by the impending lurkers...so sad that they don't realize what's about to happen.
End Game

NiTRaTE finally has enough lurkers hatched in order to mount the first major offensive of the game. He walks them through the middle of the map and parks next to the cliff of King's main.
The lurkers are loaded up into a pair of overlords and eagerly await their chance to wreak some havoc on the hapless terran army.
Unfortunately there isn't much more to tell about this game. Needless to say many of the brave terran infantry members lost their lives due to their commander's oversight. Tanks would have been a fantastic help in this battle but hey, who needs factories?
NiTRaTE summed up the game nicely when he proclaimed this:
Of course, ever the master of the witty retort, King proclaims this reason why lurkers were used.
After this was said and done, no GG's were exchanged as King was too busy whining about the cheapness of the six pool that would not be and the fact that he had been called a hacker! Bet you didn't know there was a hack that stops imaginary zerglings from being able to move. ;)
That being said it's time for...
Gosu Move of the Game!
Remember that heroic SCV that valiantly attacked the hydralisk den earlier? He survived and was able to build in the enemy's base. Want to know what he built...a SUPPLY DEPOT!!! =D 2gosu4anyone. Unfortunately the fabled "Depot Push" never made it past the first depot and we will never know the glory that could possibly have been achieved.
This is where the depot push originated. (the boxed building).
Finally, here is how the map looked toward the tail end of the game. With orange clearly controlling the map.
Well, thank you everyone for reading my report. Though the game sucked I hope it was a mildly entertaining read. Please comment. I'll look for a better game next time.
Thanks again!
