Lifetime Rating for Fox^1: 7.3810 |  | Well I actually got a 6 on my last BR!! So maybe I can make it 2 6’s in a row. I have noticed all the terribly spam that is being thrown on this great site. So I decided to add my part. ;)
Anyway I created a ladder game, because it was 5 in the morning here in Colorado. And at 5AM the only thing in NH are bots. So some guy named KUSD walks in. He has a better record then I so I was looking forward to getting more points... if I win of course. He chooses toss at the last second and I stuck with random just because. I really should just choose my race. KUSD spawns in at the 12 and I get zerg at the 9. ahhhh zerg. I feel soooo much better now. I thought about it for a second, whether or not to 6 pool or go straight for a power hatchery build. Hmmmm so I decided to go with 9 overlord, 12 hatchery at natural, spawning pool, and then 3rd hatchery at ramp.
KUSD went for a 2 gate rush. I know this cause my ove was having fun scouting for me. I thought that I would do a little 3 hatch lings to hold him at bay and to make sure that he was not trying to fast expand. So I sent wave and wave of 12 lings to his main. This kept him on the defense and allowed me to produce a drone here and there. I actually was doing damage, against zealots on his ramp, how? I have no idea! Normally when I do this, the lings get raped. So I kept it up, till he got smart, (or SC physics started to kick back in) and started his forge and cyber core for cannons and goons to start some high ground action. I made my ove run for his life, This whole time I had not done anything else but build drones, hatcheries, and lings. I had 5 hatcheries now with the 5 one morphing at the 6 main. I finally started the tech up and made my 1st hydras. KUSD was still sort of turtling at his main from all the 12 ling waves I was sending at him. I stopped this for the switch to hydras and to sunken up my creep some more for a little defense.
The game had a little lul for while (1 minute ;D). I would send a ling every so often to check up on him. Eveytime the ling would get to his ramp it would be killed by more goons. I finally saw a templar, and an expansion at the same time. So I knew it was time for me to strike before the gayness of storm didn’t get out of hand. So I sent about 3 and a half-controlled units of hydras to his base. He did a very good job of holding it off, and with the use of a well placed storm he was able to repel my attack. I took down most of his goons though, which was a good thing. Because of some good macro I already had that number of hydras back near my main. I was just about to send another wave in, but my 6 o’clock was dropped by a reaver, a DT, and a templar. The DT was easily dealt with by sunken and spore power, but the reaver and templar took most of my drones down before dying themselves to some hydras and lings. =[ Right then my natural was bombarded by a cannon’s warping in on the ledge. I was able to get a sunken up for defense of the turbo newby bashing, but unfortunately 3 cannons > 1 sunken and I lost most of my drones. In a game were I had the advantage easy I suddenly was stuck with almost no economy. Man I need to improve on my overlord placement!! I loaded some hydras and dealt with the cannons and got that back online, and took my mineral only natural as well.
About 1 minute after that KUSD attacks me with a large force of goons and templars. Really large in fact which led me to believe that he had a 3rd expansion. Which shows you the overlord placement thing again. I had lings burrowed at the 3 main and natural, which told me that he had an island. I couldn’t really check that now since he was assaulting my base. It is a good thing that I actually have some zerg skill for I was able to hold of the attack with my 10000000 cracklings reinforced by hyrdas. I found that these guys(lings) really help against a storm happy player. After I fought off the attack I scouted with an ove to the 2 islands. I found that he was at the 4:30 mining hard, he had like 40 probes total on each side! but with only 2 cannons for defense. So I started my spire (really late unfortunately) and went to drop it with 6 lurkers.
The drop was successful and I was able to stop his island economy, but KUSD was unphased.
My burrowed lings told me that he was warping in a nexus at 3. I assumed that he was starting to get low on minerals. So I sent 12 lings over there to stop that shit, but cut down by stupid gay ass DT’s. So I sent so ove and about 4 new mutas to kill the expansion, but it was defended by the godly Arkon!! My mutas decided to go elsewhere instead of getting raped by the cranial spock like being. I get ready to send about half my force there, when all of a sudden another burrowed ling tells me that KUSD is sending another force to my main. So I get ready to defend. He comes in this time with about 3 reavers which begin to own my lings hard! I almost begin to panic thinking that I am going to lose this game, when I should have won. But I microed my mutas well and with some well placed lurkers and decent hydra dancing I was able to hold it off. I then expanded to the 6 natural.
My burrowed lings showed me that KUSD was maynarding all his probes from his main over to the 3 main. I had just about enough of this game, and started to get really gay. I started morphing a defiler mound, ultralisk cavern, and got a 2nd spire for upgrades while the 1st was morphing greater. I scouted with an ove on a suicide mission to right into his main so I could see his tech. The overlord did die, but I noticed 2 things. 1 he did not have a starport made yet, 1 was warping in. 2 he had no reavers, jut 100(more like 30+) goons and 3 forges. Which freaked me out! So I knew that I better get those mutas into guards quick before he amasses a corsair fleet. My greater spire had just finished along with defiler mound and ultra cavern. I started to morph guards and get defilers. The lack of gas forced me to make 100 lings to keep my macro up. When my 3 defilers had enough for plague I prepablue a drop. I sent 3 controlled group of lings to his main to my surprise they did really well against his goon army and I took about 12 goons. So instead of dropping I just started to churn out lings and more lings, and just attacked again and again hoping that I would eventually get through. He finally got a reaver out which stopped my gayness with the ling. But I began to gain more of an advantage. I got my guards over to his expansion at 3 which took about as long as a wraith to kill a goon. Before they got there KUSD attacked my main again this time with a balanced attack of zealots, goons, reavers, and templar. But by this time I had much more units than he did probably from the cost effective attacks of my lings vs. his goons.
I was able to hold off the attack barely (This guy had some really good storm aiming!). Then sent about 24 lings to retaliate. I was met by 3 zealots a templar and 5 goons, which were owned hard. Well maybe not hard! I had about 6 lings left, but it was cost effective ownage =](Got to love those lings) I then ran into his main and took down a few buildings before he was able to stop it by some new goons and zealots. But we both knew the game was out of his reach. He gave me a gg. I thought that KUSD had this game if he had tried some drops on me, but he kept making a frontal assaults. Also I noticed that he never touched my 6 expansions. Either because he sucks like me at scouting, or he thought that if he took my main it would matter how much money I had, it would be over. GG to KUSD it was a back and forth game it could have gone either way. This was a really good game. I was going to BR it regardless of the outcome. Actually it would have been even better if he had came back.
Hope everyone likes another one of my all text report. I don’t think that I will ever add pictures, unless I am an observer, but then I never want to BR one of those anyway =[
Maybe I'll get higher than a six this time. But alas, without pics, I don't see it happening.
