MORE CLAN FUN
Today, our look at B.Net clans focuses on the mighty MoH clan. As most of you know, MoH stands for:
Men who
Often use their
Hands
No, seriously...
P.S. 22 pics so let 'em load.
THE JOYS OF A GOOD RECORD
I discovered this clan when I joined Channel Starcraft USA-15 and saw a bot spamming it's wares.

I was using my top secret smurf identity. This particular identity had a respectable 23-1-3 record and I figured I should have no trouble catching the eyes of the clan leader. Especially since the name of my top secret smurf identity was Jeannie.
I jumped into channel MoH where myself and 5 or 6 other prospective members grappled for the attention of the recruiter.
I started asking some questions about the clan. I learned a little of its history and its members. ~Mox~{MOH} was the self proclaimed leader who answered my questions.

Wow, a veteran clan, I was impressed. I figured this clan must have some serious skills. Mox must have statted me because he began to show some interest.

He did not find any other members because eventually, he decided to play me. He invited me to join moh/moh so I did.
When I arrived in the game room, I found that the name of the map was Big Game Hunters. However, it must have been a custom BGH map because I started downloading. Two other prospective clan members also joined and started to D/L.
I asked Mox if this was the map his members normally used. He told me that the clan played on a variety of maps but this was the only map he had because his computer had just come back from the repair shop. I told him that I had some different maps on my computer and asked if he would like to play on one of those. He agreed to this and so I created Jean20/Jean20.
I created the game on Dire Straits. Once again, Mox and I were joined by two other prospective clan members. Since Mox was the clan leader, he got to choose his ally and he chose me. I felt so privileged.
This time, there was no downloading. I chose Zerg and the other three players went with random.
LET HE WHO HAS SKILLS STEP FORWARD
Thus the dance began. I started bottom right and Mox started top left.
We both ended up with Zerg and Mox informed me that he would be going mutas. Since this was Vanilla Starcraft I said, "What a coincidence, me too."
For some reason Mox found this hysterically funny.
We both sent our overlords out to scout. Mine went north, Mox's went south.
His overlord was the first to arrive over an enemy base. He discovered our Zerg opponent who played Starcraft under the handle of ProKrb. I'm not sure what a professional "Krb" is but I never asked because I just wasn't that curious.
Shortly thereafter, my overlord arrived over Apocraty's base. He was our northern enemy and I found that he was terran and so I hightailed my overlord out of there.
All the races and starting locations were now discovered.

I worked quickly on my build order going with a Spawning Pool, Extractor, Second Hatch, and Lair. When the Lair completed, I built a Spire.
My partner went with a Evolution Chamber, Extractor, Spawning Pool, 4 spore, Lair, Second Hatch build. Then he built a Spire. Needless to say, my 6 mutas finished before his Lair finished morphing.
While we worked on these build orders we had a nice little discussion. He first told my what a skilled and experienced player he was.

He then informed me that he had a map hack and that it was his job to distribute it among the new members.

I chastised him horribly for this telling him what a terrible leader he was for crumbling to the peer pressure. After a few moments of this he said,

When my 6 mutas completed, I flew them off to the north. Hopefully, Apocraty would be open to a good old fashioned muta whompin'.
WHY DO I ALWAYS HAVE TO DO ALL THE WORK?
I couldn't have been more right. As my 6 mutas flew over his command center towards his SCV line, I saw that he had an SCV working on a Refinery. The refinery was about halfway finished. Gleefully, I started pounding on his SCVs. Unfortunately, there were only about 10 SCVs to pound on but I went ahead and killed them all. Then I flew around a bit looking for other buildings. That was when I found the rest of his buildings on the western side of his island. The buildings were 7 missile turrets, an engineering bay, and a barracks. He was working on building a missile turret ring around his island!!

I chuckled to myself and flew my mutas back to my base. It wouldn't be any fun if I put Apocraty out of the game this early.
When my 6 mutas arrived back at my base there were 3 more mutas waiting. I knew it was a risk, but I figured what the hey. I flew my nine mutas off to the west towards ProKrb's base.
When I arrived in ProKrb's base, I was pleasantly surprised to find that he only had 6 mutas for defense. I quickly shift clicked on each of his mutas then clicked back to my base. Transport had just finished researching and I wanted to start a new expansion. I loaded up 2 drones and flew them to the mid right expansion between myself and Apocraty.
When I hotkeyed back to my mutas, i found that all of ProKrb's mutas were dead and I still had 7 of mine left. I started hunting down overlords and when I attacked one, I found that it had its speed upgrade. I found that peculiar but I was still able to kill 3 overlords and all the drones before ProKrb finished morphing 3 spore colonies and effectively chased me off.
Mox, who still hadn't morphed any attack units yet, approved of my tactics.

I returned my mutas to my base and continued teching. I built a queen's nest and then morphed my Lair into a Hive. I also built a 3rd hatchery in my main bringing my hatchery total to 5.
It was at about this time Mox magically discovered that ProKrb had expanded to the other middle expansion island. He attacked it with his crippling force of 6 mutas. Because ProKrb had no defense, the mutas were successful in destroying the attempted expansion.
At the same time, I sent another overlord to the expansion between myself and ProKrb and found that that ProKrb had already started morphing a hatchery and some creep colonies there. I quickly flew my 18 mutas over and disposed of the expansion. Mox was enjoying our "teamwork" and commented on it. He was obviously kissing up, hoping for some hot cybersex later.
After destroying ProKrb's expansion, Mox decided to see what Apocraty was up to. He sent his six mutas flying into Apocraty's base and was met with about 40 missile turrets. His mutas were quickly shredded by the turrets. He was very impressed by Apocraty's Starcraft skills.
I expanded to one of the middle islands with two more hatcheries bringing my total to 7. I kept pumping mutas and built a second Spire at one of my expansions for double upgrades. By this time, I had 3 control groups of mutas and I decided to scout for expansions. I sent my mutas out to the two remaining expansions that were not already claimed by Mox or myself. I found ProKrb at the other middle island expansion and quickly destroyed the two spore colonies that he had for defense. Then I razed the expansion.
I had 4 control groups of mutas when Mox decided that now was the time to finish Teal. I wanted to wait but Mox sent his mutas in. He had about 12 mutas and he ran into a whole lot of hydras and 6 spore colonies.
I went ahead and sent in my forces to help. By the time I arrived, all of Mox's mutas were dead. However, my 4 control groups of mutas were easily able to overpower ProKrb's remaining defenses. I killed every building that ProKrb had except for one creep colony. I wanted him to be able to witness the judegment that I was about to pass. I shared vision with him.
By this time Mox had managed to morph 9 more mutas. He had just started morphing those mutas into Guardians when I made my decision. It was time to pass judgement upon the evil Map Hack Distributor.

I quickly sent my remaining mutas (around 40) and quickly took out Mox's two fledling expansions.
As I destroyed his bases he said,

I replied,

He promptly left the game.
I was now left with one opponent, Apocraty, the turret happy terran.
I morphed one of my control groups of mutas into guardians. I started lobbing green globs down on his massive turret defense. One by one, turrets started going up in flames. Strangely enough, my guardians weren't taking any damage... hmmmm.
A couple of wraiths came out and attempted to destroy the guardians, but they were no match for 32 mutas and were quickly destroyed.
Seeing that his base was about to go up in flames, Apocraty said,

As I worked over his base, I had this conversation,

When ProKrb chimed in with that little comment, I remembered that I left him one creep colony. I quickly flew my mutas over and destroyed it making myself the supreme victor!!

I think the one gem we can pull from this story is, you don't have to go to e-bay to buy yourself a map hack. Just join the MoH clan.
Thanks for reading, have a nice day.
