BattleReport #5

To those who read this:

Yes, this is a real report, despite what the stupid title leads you to think--welcome to another of my BattleReports. It's going to take a freakin year to load up, too. Before you proceed, be notified: as usual, I have included a couple preliminary "mini-reports" for you to read before you get to the actual report. It has been called to my attention that some of you feel that these precursors are too wordy or completely unnecessary. I, on the other hand, feel they add to my mood (and therefore tone) in the "real" report, if nothing more then they help supplement the piece. They are almost entirely text, although I got a bit carried away with images in the last one. Well, you don’t have to read them if you don’t want. They all have gay endings and bear no influence on the “real” report, other than my state of mind as I played it. To make everyone happy, I’ve provided a link so you can skip to the real report by clicking here. (By the way, you waited to load up a bunch of images that you won’t see, so hardy har har weenies.)

For those of you who want to read the preliminaries, first of all thanks for humoring me, and secondly, here you go:

A day on Bnet

It’s getting hard to find a decent game anymore. All the public games are either 7vs1 comp stomps or are called "1vs1 FUCKERS" on some map called "The Perfect Hunters". It doesn’t help that I’m in the intermediate skill level--just above newbie status but nowhere near real ability. Most of my games result in either me kicking the shit out of someone; or else the shit gets kicked out of me (more often, the latter). But finding a freaking game is half the damn battle. Here’s an example of exactly what I’m talking about, occuring while I was logged in as Ren01:

He should've known since the map name doesn't have "Mucho Money" in the title.

Apparently the fact that I wasn’t using a money map gave reason for it to be a bad game. Sigh…

When I finally get a game going, it usually sucks. Read on: Hey! How's it going? Here's some hidden text for you! E-mail me at spuzz10@yahoo.com and tell me you found the hidden text in this BattleReport. The first one gets one dollar in prize money!!! Mention the phrase "Spuzz is God" for confirmation, so I know it's not just some guy e-mailing me and asking for a dollar... Be sure to include an address for me to mail it!
Clanz

My day began with me making a public 1vs1 on the map Remote Outpost. It’s an okay four-player map set in space. The starting positions are in each corner and there is not much room for your tech buildings. I was joined by a player by the name of Matt6. We exchanged gl’s and started the game. I randomed to Zerg in the upper left corner while he chose Protoss and received the bottom left starting position.

Matt6 must’ve been impressed with the way I pressed the "Ok" button to launch the game because the first thing he said to me was "Want 2 join a clan?"

Now, nothing against all you people who are in clans, but I sure don’t see the point in them. Not to mention all the horror stories I’ve read on BattleRepots.com about clans. I told him no thanks; he persisted.

"Clans are kewl."

"What does a clan offer me?"

Matt6 gave a short pause and then supplied me an answer that still makes me laugh:

...duh!

As if there are clans running around terrorizing non-members. He made it sound like it was gang warfare, where you better pick a side before you get yourself killed. I chuckled for a good five minutes over this one, then scouted the map to find him cannoning up his enterances.

"Protection??"

"Yeah"

"How?"

"If u are in trouble u can call a clan member 2 help u"

You have got to be kidding me. I answered, "But once you start a game you can’t have other people join."

"They begin the game with you."

Maybe I’m missing something, but it sounds like this guy’s clan was a pack of kids who team up on unsuspecting people. But that doesn’t even make sense…who the hell is going to allow two clan members into a 1vs1? And how do they help? I don’t get it. I told him, "No, thanks."

He took it well, and with an "Ok kewl" he clammed up. I sent a preliminary batch of Zerglings up the back door of his base to find it completely unprotected. What shocked me was that Matt6 had no less than six Probes mining his eight mineral patches. That, my friends, is saturation. I killed all 6 of them and obliterated his Nexus. Matt6 promptly left the game without a word. I was left to try and find a new opponent, hopefully one that would be more than a waste of time.

I am delicately ripped a new asshole

Starting a new game on Lost Civilization, I was joined by a player named Darzwuznut. Ok, I made that name up, but the person I played had an equally stupid name. Anyway, the map Lost Civilization is another four-player map (I seem to prefer them). You'll read more about it in a different game below.

We began after some nice chit-chat. I randomed to Terran in the upper left corner while Darzwuznut chose Protoss and warped in to the lower right. I did my usual building order of 8-supply depot, then barracks, depot, barracks, then gas. Things were going well until I scouted Darzwuznut with an SVC. He had several tanks, marines, and a starting Starport. At this point I had just finished my factory, so I crapped my pants and sped up prodution.

I'm going to let you in on a little secret: at this point, the game's outcome had been decided already. I get intimidated extremely easily and was afrad to expand for fear of getting my ass kicked. I unwilingly became a damn turtle.

Darzwuznut sent a few tanks and marines up to my base and tried to start some shit, but I was able to hold him off and finally expanded to my natural. Unbeknownst to me, by this time Darzwuznut had three bases going. I slowly saturated my mineral line and began making mass Wraiths (and with my economy, by "mass" I mean 6). Things were quiet so I scouted for new expansion places.

By now Darzwuznut had taken nearly them all. I crapped my pants again (fortunately I did not change my pants from the first time I crapped them, so I didn't dirty a second pair.) I quickly grabbed one of the last expansion spots and desparately tried to catch up. It was pitifull, my two tanks and eight Wraiths couldn't stop a medium size assault force sent by Darzwuznut. The expansion was quickly razed.

I sadly told Darzwuznut "We both know how this is going to end."

He replied with a "Yeah". There was no denying it. I didn't give up, though, and it took him nearly 25 minutes to get into my base. It's a moral victory, anyway.

Well, so far my battles have been as freakin one-sided as they possibly could. Will I ever find a good game? (single tear rolls down cheek)

Spuzz the Hacker

Is anyone reading this? Or did you all skip to the last BattleReport? For those of you who are still reading, here's a nice bit of info: be on the lookout for hidden text. I put some in my last Report but I don't think anyone found it. Oh well, back to work. Under the name Ren01 (By the way, I hear Ren & Stimpy are returning to Nickelodeon this summer!) I made another public 1vs1 game on the map Lost Civilization. That’s right…not The Lost Temple---Lost Civilization.

Soon enough I was joined by a young fellow with the name ChronosWars. His stats were 30-17, I think. Great, he was going to kick my ass. (Actually, I knew it should be a good game, but I became paranoid.) After initial pleasantries, we began. He chose Protoss and I randomed to Zerg. I started in the upper right corner and he was placed in the upper left:

Ever play here?

Early game was nothing but the usual building order: Overlord, spawning pool, then hatchery. I sent a scouting Drone to check things out.

There are two main choke points to each base About five Zealots killed it at ChronosWars’ choke point. Gulp! I picked up the pace and added a third hatchery while upgrading to a Lair. Once it was done, I plopped down a Spire and began pumping Hydras while expanding to my natural. ChronosWars’ ever-growing choke army killed a cluster of 12 Zerglings who tried to slip past them and do some good ol’ Probe killing. It was a large group of Dragoons and a few Zealots now. I sunkened up and kept making Hydras. Finally my Spire completed and I hatched ten Mutalisks to cause trouble.

Whee!! I flew directly west, over the mountainous terrain. Knowing that his starting Nexus should be rather close to the cliff, I figured that I could quickly cross over and assassinate some Probes before the Mutas were chased out. Unfortunately, as my warriors approached, Dragoons from ChronosWars’ choke lined up to receive them. It was rather obvious that he had seen me coming, and pulled troops back to protect the peons. I thought to myself, "Shit! He already has Observers across the freakin map!"

D'ohhhhh...

As we all know, there is nothing worse than a Protoss player who knows enough to use Observers across the map (unless it’s a Protoss player who knows how to use a Shield Battery). Knowing that he had Observers watching my every move was rather disheartening, but I knew he couldn’t get one into my base due to the Overlords and Hydras there. That made me feel a little better. I decided to pull my Mutas directly south to his natural and see if he had expanded yet.

Die you little pukes!Mutas are faster than tap-dancing Dragoons, so they escaped and found a nice unguarded Nexus with several Probes to kill. I ordered up six more Mutas at my main, and proceeded to destroy the Nexus. I then found a Forge at ChronosWars’ natural choke, along with some cannons. I was able to attack the Forge without being hit by the cannons.

I probably would have put the cannons between the two rows of Pylons

While the Forge slowly went down I flew my six new Mutas to the cliff overlooking ChronosWar’s main. Hopefully, his damn Dragoons were on their way down to deal with the Mutas tearing up the Forge, and when they got there, I could rush the new guys in to assault his peons. Meanwhile the first Mutas could duck across some water and escape.

The Plan

I am...so damn... SMART!!

The plan went off without a hitch. I began beating up Chronoswars’ main base Probes while the Dragoons ran down to the natural only to be escaped. ChronosWars made a few choice words and committed an all-out assault on my main, throwing everything he had. My assload of Hydras, as well as multiple sunkens and Mutas, were able to defeat the Zealots and Dragoons. Seeing the last of his army fall, ChronosWars uttered one phrase before leaving the game:

...

Fucking baby. For spite I continued playing and tore down his base. Victory was mine!

As I reentered the StarCraft USA-2 channel, I did the /where ChronosWars command. He was in another game already. Although it is impolite to bother someone while they are playing, I felt the need to speak. I whispered ChronosWars a little message (to save on images, I have retyped the conversation):

Ren01: It’s called recon, you should try it

(short pause)

ChronosWars: YOU KNEW EXACLTY WHEN MY MEN WERE GONE TO ATTACK YOU PIGFUCKER

Ren01: Are you freaking kidding me? (By now he had probably squelched me, but I didn’t care. I just kept typing:)
This is a spacer image. Boo!You are making an irresponsible accusation.
All I did was split up your attention
And you fell for it
BECAUSE YOU FREAKING SUCK
Try setting up some defense around your fucking base
And next time maybe you won’t be beaten
So fucking easily by a simple distraction
You FUCKING LOSER

It was a bit over-dramatic and immature, but I was really pissed. Map hacking is a serious allegation. I don’t want to be associated with map hacks, I don’t want to think about all the games I’ve played where the other guy might have hacked. I logged off for a while, still pissed, when it dawned on me. As I was tearing down ChronosWars’ shitty little base after he left, there was no Observatory. Hell, there wasn’t even a Robotics Facility.

Draw your own conclusions. The name was ChronosWars

.

Ok, you’ve made it. This is the "real" report. Will it be worth all the reading? No. But here it is anyway.

I found a nice little patch of earth out in the deep country of southern Arkansas. Here I planned to start my own little Zerg colony, maybe have a few Zerglings and watch them grow up. We settled in Dark Star County close to a nice mineral patch with nearby Vespene gas. After the initial Drone building I sent Scooter, the Drone with a heart of gold, to scout the land and meet the neighbors. (I have already mentioned in previous BattleReports that I have well above the appropriate gayness level to name my scouts.) He found not a single civilized colony in the whole county until he reached the northeastern corner.

As he approached, faint banjo music could be heard. It was our worst fear. Scooter crept up closer, complaining about an unbearable stench of urine. To his horror, he saw several Zealots in wifebeater shirts and big patch overalls with the butts ripped out, arguing over whom could take the biggest shit. Scooter jumped up and started sprinting away to report that we were up against…

And you thought they didn't have mouths

Time was short. I knew we had to assess the situation and congregate an army. After the Hillbilly Protoss had eaten all their fishing bait and skunks, they would come after us. Suddenly a single Probe came to our base with a soiled piece of paper. After presenting it to us, the Probe hustled away. I looked at the note…apparently these Hillbilly Protoss were at least slightly advanced; they had sent a declaration of war:

I can't explain the inconsistency in backward letters...maybe they wrote it in shifts?

Well, if it is war they want, then war they shall have!

Map: Dark Star (if it makes you feel better, I can call it The Lost Dark Star)
Game: VANILLA StarCraft
Players: Ren01 (me) chose Zerg and appeared at the bottom left It's another spacer image. Mind your own business.StupidMop randomed to Protoss and appeared at the upper left

I kina like this mapSo much I posted it twice in one line! The Dark Star map is a pretty good one in my opinion. It has four starting locations in every corner, and each one has a nearby expansion up a ramp on a small elevated surface. There is also one expansion area in the dead center of the map. If you can’t tell, the shaded regions are elevated.

Note: StupidMop is not a hillbilly. He played well, spelled correctly, and was pleasant to chat with. He did nothing to give me the impression that he is a redneck. It’s just a theme I decided to use. To reiterate, STUPIDMOP IS NOT A HILLBILLY.

I started with my normal building order of 8-Overlord, 9-Spawning Pool, then Hatchery and finally gas. When I had ten Drones, I sent Scooter the Drone to survey the scene. He found StupidMop at the last place he looked, in the upper left corner. Look closely at the top of the Gateway. You can see Scooter attacking it. Believe it or not he managed to scratch "Scooter wuz here" before getting chased away.I am surprised at the detail of recon Scooter managed to get, considering how late it was when he finally found the base. He saw two gateways, several Zealots, and about three cannons warping in. In addition, he discovered that the Protoss’ idea of an indoor toilet was a pile of towels in the corner that they pee on.

Hmm…with all the cannons, it seems like we have a turtle on our hands. By now I had several Sunkens and a small group of Zerglings, so the Zealots didn’t scare me. They should have. I was suddenly attacked by about twelve of the mofos. Fortunately, the placement of Sunkens was lucky. The Zealots immediately targeted the Drones until StupidMop saw the all the Sunkens. When the Zealots got to the mineral patches, he redirected them to attack the Sunkens. Unfortunately for StupidMop, the Zealots were accidentally blocked by working Drones and could not reach the Sunkens quickly. Meanwhile my Zerglings got some cheap shots off, although they were affected by the crowded conditions too.

In a particularly lucky move, I started some Zerglings by chance just as the Zealots were trying to get between my two Hatcheries. The eggs popped up, making an impassable roadblock, so the Zealots had to turn and go around while my Sunkens got some free hits:

Unfortunately, I missed taking a picture during the game, so this is a re-enactment :P

Despite all these dumb luck fortunes, the Zealot rush took a bad toll on my base. Few Drones were lost but most of the Sunkens fell as well as a lot of Zerglings. I rebuild quickly; if the Hillbilly Protoss repeated the attack I would have been finished. Several long moments ensued as I rushed to rebuild my defenses. I didn’t want to be eliminated so early in the game, but it was a real possibility. Fortunately, no second attack had come-apparently StupidMop was using his money for something other than Zealots. I got my economy and defense back under control.

Finally I laid down a Hydra Den and expanded to my natural, up on the cliff. Lately, I have been expanding to my naturals even before my mineral patches are saturated. This extremely tricky maneuver is both very risky and not useful. Not everyone can pull off such a stupid, devastatingly self-destructive newbie move, which is why I feel there is only one term that can describe when I do it: superchobogay. It’s not on purpose, I just get lazy checking my Drone numbers after I build stuff. By the time I realize the error, it’s too late. I have to shit my pants and swim in it. Fortunately, I wasn’t asleep at the wheel this game and expanded when the timing was appropriate.

Once the economy was good, I began pumping Hydras while placing two Evolution Chambers in the corner. I upgraded to Lair and made some Queens. Since StupidMop had lain all those cannons at his base, I decided to tech for Defilers and use Dark Swarm to penetrate. Just for the hell of it, I slapped down a Spire too--so it would be there when I needed it. For protection, I clustered a lot of Hydras up on the cliff of my natural, hopefully to watch for invaders and shoot down any damn shuttles that might come by.

In addition, I realized that all my important tech buildings were in the same corner of my base, ripe for a Reaver drop. I placed a control group of Hydras at the edge to hopefully intercept any shuttles that may come in:

Better safe than sorry

Believe it or not, she didn't survive.I sent a Queen up to StupidMop’s natural expansion to see if he had claimed it yet. There was a few pylons and a Nuxus warping there. The Queen continued onward to his main to investigate, and the cannons there abruptly turned her inside out.

Dead Queen Count =1

The bastard that killed my scouting Queen. Because this is VANILLA StarCraft. All this time, the Hillbillies had been pretty quiet. It’s common knowledge that a Hillbilly Protoss’ family tree is a straight line, so I hoped that maybe they had somehow managed to forget all about me. I decided to see what was up and sent another Queen to scout (Scooter was too busy barking orders at the other Drones). As the Queen approached his main, a pair of Scouts killed her. (Remember, this is Vanilla StarCraft!!)

Dead Queen Count = 2

Kind of lonely here. I only sent one Hydra so StupidMop wouldn't see the others.

I was glad to see the Scouts, since I was making a large number of Hydras. Stupid Hillbilly Protoss, heh heh. I plopped another Hatchery at my main and sent a Drone to the lower right corner to begin an expansion. Meanwhile I morphed a Hive and placed a Nydus Canal to link my main and the distant expansion. A Protoss Probe stopped by to say hello and left up the ramp before I could get any troops over there. I moved a control group of Hydras to the expansion via Canal and sent one up to check out the situation. The Probe was still there, eating some boogers. It had warped in a Pylon. The Hydra easily killed the Probe, and slowly destroyed the Pylon. I knew that tearing down a Pylon is an act of war, so I prepared the remaining Hydras and got two Defilers ready.

Meanwhile some passing Zerglings came across a Zealot who was taking a shit in an outhouse. The Zerglings pushed the outhouse over so it landed door side down. With the entire structure rotated, the Zealot had no choice but to crawl through the shitting hole to get out. Ahahahaha!

No, that Drone did not spontaneously combust.Suddenly, my expansion at the lower right corner was under attack by Interceptors. Interceptors? Cripes! A Carrier! No, two of them! Defiler quickly cast Dark Swarm and the Hydras got to work spitting. Unfortunately, the Carriers were looking down on the expansion from over a cliff, out of the Hydras’ sight range. I only had a single nearby Queens to spot for them, and she was killed.

Dead Queen Count = 3

All the Hydras could do was spit at the Interceptors. Meanwhile the Drones were dropping like flies until I finally burrowed them. If Defiler had cast Dark Swarm over them, they could have continued working unmolested. Unfortunately, Defiler is an asshole. His attention was on the Hydras and their spitting.

All right! Finally some free hits!At one point, the Carriers peeked over the cliff and the Hydras were able to reach them. The Carriers quickly retreated to the safety of a higher elevation while my troops gave chase.

Using Dark Swarm, the Hydras worked their way up the ramp to discover a Nexus and several cannons at the natural! Why of all places StupidMop chose to expand here (after he had seen my expansion below earlier) is beyond me. Maybe he thought the cannons would rain shots on my workers and I would be helpless to stop it. At any rate, the Hydras shot down the Carrier and blew up the cannons, then destroyed all Probes and finally the Nexus. Defiler had to rush back down to my expansion and ate a burrowed Drone to regain some energy for another Swarm.

A few Zealots couldv'e changed this battle a lot.

Soon it was over…during this scuffle, I lost three wayward Hydras, about twelve Drones, a Queen, and an unfortunate Defiler for a net loss of 975 minerals and 375 gas. He lost six cannons, one Pylon, one Shield Battery, six Probes, one Nexus, two Carriers, and 16 interceptors for a net loss of 2900 minerals and 500 gas. Yay!

In order to prevent another Carrier from exploiting the elevation difference above my expansion, I moved some Hydras up to the natural and burrowed them. If StupidMop tried his little trick again, the Hydras would suprise the Carriers and hopefully shoot them down.

Of course, the assload is in metric unitsAfter this skirmish I knew StupidMop wanted another expansion, so I scouted the remaining possible locations via Queen. At the upper right corner I found a Probe warping in several Pylons, cannons, Gateways, a Nexus, and an Assimilator. It was apparent that the Hillbillies planned on having this land because they already had a couple toilets sitting in the front yard and some boots hanging from the phone lines. Since Dark Swarm had been so useful thus far, I was able to avoid having to think, and simply assembled a load of Cracklings and Defilers to raze the expansion. I loaded up four Overlords with Cracklings and two Defilers, and floated them towards the upper right.

Eventually my Zergling-packed Overlords reached the upper right expansion area. I had a Queen creep up to see what they were up against. The base was deserted except for a single Pylon and cannon. Disapointingly, StupidMop must’ve seen me notice the stuff warping in, and canceled everything he could. My troops bitched and started the jrouney back home.

While I was preoccupied with this, StupidMop sent a couple Templars to my natural. Using a Carrier to spot for him, the Templars cast a storm and killed almost all the Hydras I had stationed there. Then the Templars turned tail and ran while the Carrier provided cover:

I don't really care too much for GIF animations, so I'll stick with this format. Video killed the radio star!

A Queen of mine got really pissed and followed the Templars so she could Spawn Broodling one of them. The Carrier shot her a bit, but some Hydras rushed up and attacked, diverting its attention. Those brave Hydras paid with their lives. Finally, Defiler cast Dark Swarm, scaring the Carrier away after it had killed almost every damn Drone at my natural. My Queen continued to chase the Templars, seeing just a shadow of them as they continued to run away. Finally, she caught up to one of them. I smiled and clicked the Spawn Broodling button.

“Not enough energy.”

After backing away from the upper right starting position, StupidMop migrates to here.Shit. I guess I shoulda checked that before chasing the Templars. To make matters worse, the retreating Carrier shot Queenie out of the sky. D’oh! Dammit! D’oh! Her death was not in vain, though. She had chased the Templars all the way to the center of the map, revealing a new expansion started by StupidMop.

Dead Queen count = 4

The whole Templar hit-and-run-at-my-natural fiasco worried me. StupidMop saw that I am a Dark Swarm whore, and adjusted his strategy accordingly. There is nothing that says “Storm HERE” better than a small orange cloud full of Hydras. I would have to be careful with my Swarming from now on…I replaced the fallen workers and Hydras and hoped for the best.

The Zerglings I wanted to use in destroying the upper right expansion were still inside several Overlords, so I loaded some additional Overlords with Hydras and set out to StupidMop’s new expansion. There was a nice little spot to land and unload my guys, but I must have unloaded them too near a building because the first Hydras out started spitting, revealing my presence. Don’t you freakin hate it when that happens?

StupidMop was quick in the draw and stormed my unloading Overlords. Fortunately, the timing of the storm was favorable for me. An Overlord will survive the entire duration of a single storm. The Overlords I used were clustered together, making the unloading procedure slow. Most of my troops were still held within the Overlords and were therefore protected from the storm. Chalk up another dumb luck victory to me!

Apparently there was only one Templar there, and he apparently had only enough juice for one storm, because no more came. The drop was completed, Defiler cast Dark Swarm, and the base was soon razed:

Why I freaking love Dark Swarm

A Queen who was scouting for assassin Templars spotted two coming, as well as several Carriers. She was then blown out of the sky.

Dead Queen Count = 5

Unfortunately most of my Hydras had died in the drop attack (there were some Zealots in the Dark Swarm this time), so, without an adequate force to combat the Carriers, I quickly loaded up the rest of the troops and flew the Overlords back to my main. The Carriers gave chase and killed a loitering Queen, but were halted by some Scourge.

Dead Queen Count = 6

The Scourge ended up killing all the Carriers but one, which retreated presumably to StupidMop’s main. Victory!

During this time, StupidMop sent a single parasited Scout down to the natural of my lower right expansion. It parked right above my burrowed Hydras and I got a cheap laugh watching them pop up and obliterate the Scout in 0.1 seconds:

Ahahaha! Those Hydras unborrowed, shot it down, and burrowed again in like one second...lol

The Zealots and Templars make a good anti-Dark Swarm force. At this point I knew StupidMop must’ve been desperate for another resource intake. I scouted the center expansion area with a Queen and saw several Zealots, two Templar, and three Dragoons who were named Bubba, Billy Bubba, and Bubba Bubba Billy. They were all waiting there with a Carrier as a new Nexus warped in. The Queen was blasted into a million pieces.

Dead Queen Count = 7

Seeing this attempt at an expansion, I knew things looked grim for StupidMop. He had been trying to expand for the last twenty minutes of the game and I had managed to stop him every time. I knew if I knocked out this latest attempt, the game should be over. However, StupidMop was keen on my Dark Swarm dependence and I felt uncomfortable repeating the same Overlord drop tactic. I had another plan.

Remember the Spire I planted down earlier? The one I wanted for just in case? I hatched twelve Mutaslisks in a hurry. I had been upgrading the flying attacks and carapace the whole game, and by now my brand new Mutas were 3/3. I decided to do a quick hit and run, targeting the Templars first, then the Dragoons, and finally, if I felt like it, the Carrier. Godspeed, brave Mutas!

Before I initiated the attack, I decided to check the scene out with a Queen. I wanted to make sure there wasn’t an assload of cannons waiting for my precious Mutas. There wasn’t, but the Queen was stormed and shot by Dragoons. She erupted into a mass of gore and blood.

Dead Queen count = 8

The Mutas rushed in. I must have caught StupidMop with his pants down, because he didn’t storm them as his Templars died. Then again, as you can see in the above picture, the Hillbilly Protoss units were clustered together pretty tightly, and a storm would have been as fatal to them as it would be to my Mutas.

As I killed the Templars, the Dragoons seemed to think that it was a hoedown because they danced despite the fact that my Mutas were right there. Either that or the Dragoons were so inbred that they couldn’t walk straight. At any rate, the enemy fell and I targeted the Carrier:

Go! Go Mutas!

Normally I would never pit Mutas against a Carrier, but there was only a few Interceptors flying around so I went for it. The Carrier exploded and I proceeded to rip up the Nexus. Meanwhile, I used a Queen to scout StupidMop’s main base. She found it totally deserted before the cannons placed there shot her down.

Dead Queen Count = 9

Knowing I was going to win, I began rallying my troops for a final assault as my Mutas continued to work on the Nexus. StupidMop saved me the trouble by saying:

What is taking too long? The funeral for all your dead guys?

...and left the game. Well, I’m pretty sure he meant to say:

Ren01, you did such a wonderful job of preventing my expansion. I never stood a chance against you and now I have no troops to fight with. I will spare you the trouble of wrecking my barren base and shall respectfully concede. In addition, I want to have your baby. Ren01, you are the most supergosu non-gay StarCraft player ever. I never want this moment to end, but I know it must so I will go out like a man. Rest assured you will be in my dreams tonight.”

But that was too long to type. Which is why he typed “Sorry this is taking too long” instead. I’m pretty sure.

I won! I won! The Hillbilly Protoss were driven out of Dark Star County. Finally, the thick stench of shit would clear out and we could live peacefully. Scooter the Drone celebrated by buying Defiler a drink and hitting the town. YAY.

Notes

  • As usual, Parasites helped me out a lot in this game. I simply can't parasite enough things. Often, when my opponent finds a parasited unit, he or she will kill it right then and there. This is wasteful. The unit is still useable, it just needs to be separated from everyone else. At the very least, a parasited unit can be used as a kamikaze scout and sent into the enemy's base.

  • I was lucky to have the Spire when I needed it. I didn't use it for the entire game until the end, when StupidMop had a rather good defence against Dark Swarm. Other than that, the Spire was useless the whole game. Even though I made Scourges a couple of times. Shut up.

  • If you haven't already, go see the movie "American Beauty". I saw it last night for the first time and I must say it is absolutely freaking awesome.

  • StupidMop is NOT a Hillbilly.

  • It was nice to see a Protoss player who used Carriers, but did not rely completely on them. StupidMop had Zealots, Dragoons, and fucking Templars to help support the Carriers.

  • StupidMop also did a good job adjusting his strategy. The Templars appeared when he saw I use Dark Swarm, and also increased his Zealot production.

  • I need to be more careful with those damn Queens. They're expensive, and by the end of the game, I had to literally beg the larva to morph into more Queens. No one wanted to be one because they saw NINE die from sloppy scouting.

Well, that's the end of it. As always, comments are welcome. Tell me what to do better.
