The dawn of the millennium brought about an age of chaos, destruction and reconstruction. The old order was replaced as the new order set in. The threat of Y2K was replaced by the threat of global terrorism. An organization called The Sons of Earth organized and carried out, a plan of global destruction. Terrorist bombings using deadly nerve agents killed thousands in the super powers of the world. Cities such as New York, L.A., London, Paris and Tokyo were decimated by these bombings. For three days the planet was consumed in chaos, disaster and disarray. Soon after was the global fall of communism. Fidel Castro was dead and the flag of the United States now flew over the royal palace. The economy of North Korea was in ruins and its leaders finally declared peace with the U.S. and South Korea. After fifty years of separation the country was again whole. Vietnam was swallowed up by Burma, as the unification of Southeast Asia was accomplished by the newest Asian power. By 2011 only China remained.
In early May of 2012, the United Nations was disbanded by all of the Earth’s nations. Over the next eight years the Earth would have a series of wars making it the bloodiest era in Earth’s history.
The Russian Civil War erupted the following year after Siberia declared its independence on September 7, 2013. The Siberians defeated the Russian army and was officially recognized by China and the U.S. In fear of Siberian invasion, the Russians entered an alliance with the Ukraine and the three Baltic States. This was the creation of B.U.R.A, the Baltic, Ukrainian, Russian Alliance.
In 2014 the Israelis and Palestinians found peace and formed the unified country of Israel in late October the following year. In an attempt to increase Israel’s size, the government created alliances with Syria, Egypt and Saudi Arabia the following year. Israel was the sixth largest country in the world and would become rivals to Europe and the U.S.
On June 3, 2014 the communists in China were over thrown in the Chinese Rebellion. The rebellion was started by college students on the fifteen year anniversary of the Tientamin Square Massacre. The war would mean the end to communism in the world with Korea once again whole, Vietnam was a part of Burma and the death of Fidel Castro in 2011 allowed the U.S. to move into Cuba and take over. The war lasted only three months as many of Chinas leaders stepped down from power. In order to make the new democratic government stronger it entered an alliance with Japan, Siberia, India, and Korea forming the U.A.P or United Asian Powers.
The next year, Australia, Indonesia and New Zealand united to form The Pacific Alliance in April 13, 2016. The leaders of The Alliance wanted more land and planned to attack Asia. One month before the attack, The Alliance nations signed into an pact with the B.U.R.A. The B.U.R.A wanted to retake Siberia and reestablish Russia. On June 23, 2016 The Alliance attacked mainland Asia through Thailand and China. The next day, the B.U.R.A invaded Siberia. Two days later the U.S., Israel, N.A.T.O and the United Asian Powers declared war on The Alliance and the B.U.R.A, World War Three had just begun. As U.S forces attacked Australia from Pacific bases, N.A.T.O and U.A.P. forces attacked the B.U.R.A armies outside Moscow. AN Alliance counter-strikes resulted in the loss Japan and India, while the B.U.R.A capture half of Siberia and parts of China. WW3 came to an end when the U.S, N.A.T.O and Israel launched a neutron bombing raid on Moscow and Sydney. Although the weapon leaves buildings intact, the loss of life was devastating as the radiation death count reached the millions. Total civilian losses were close to Fifteen million. The surrender of The Alliance and Russians was on September 15, 2020 in Beijing.
After the war all nations agreed that a new world organization was needed. this was the birth of the Coalition. With representatives from the U.S., Europe and the United Asian Powers, the Coalition was officially created on December 19, 2020.
The founder and president of the Coalition, Steven Hirt promise to create a united world under one government and one law. The first step was to create equality among the countries. Under the Unification Act of 2020, each country would become a state in the Coalition. All the newly formed states would send five representatives to the Coalition capital located in Washington D.C. These representatives would uphold the interests of their states. A new set of laws were created to keep order in the Coalition. Aside from penalties for murder, theft and other felonies, global laws were also formed. These three global laws were aimed at preventing war and conflict between the newly formed states. Firstly, any form of aggression against any other state is prohibited. Secondly, there will be no concealment of weapons or soldiers. Thirdly, any states that conducts weapons test must have the permission of the elected assembly and the Coalition president. With these laws came a warning from the president himself. Any offender of these laws will be dealt with sever and destructive action.
The next phase of Presidents Hirt’s plan for world order was the creation of the Global Police Force. This program formed a world wide police force that would keep order in the Coalition. Dressed in full armor plating and armed with military weapons, these new officers put an end to nearly all major crime organization. President Hirt and the rest of the Coalition believed that they were on the first step towards world peace.
The Coalition capital was wrapped in a December winter as the Coalition president sat down to breakfast. A moment of rest was a rare occation for the young president. Very seldom was the time where he could relax and read his morning paper. He was the president and there was much to do. In less than two weeks itwould be the one year anniversary of the Coalition’s creation. He had to make a speech and needed to consult his staff as to the plans for the celebration. In a few hours he would need to attend the senate assembly. These were the days that he almost wished to be back on the front lines of a battlefield.
He had been in places of high power before, but never had the responsibilty of the world on his shoulders. He had served in three wars before he was twenty-five. His missions had taken him from Asia to Austrailia and he would rise to the rank of Major by the end of his military career. His military experience was both a blessing and a curse. He was a proven leader and a man of great integrity, but many in the Senate questioned the appointment of a soldier in the most powerful position in the world. However, he had founded the Coalition and was entitle to his right to become the first president.
Hirt became a popular figure in the eyes of the public and was hailed by people all over the globe. Hirt however was not a man without enemies. His policies had cost a lot of people a lot of money. In particular were the mob and mafia families around the world, as well as the more powerful drug cartells. Their once powerful empires were quickly being crushed by the new Global Police.
Dictators that were at one time gods in their own countries were reduced to mere statesmen. They no longer held the riegns of power with an iron fist. They had little influnece over their countries and they would do anything to restore their order to their republics.
These matters were far from the presidents mind as he enjoyed the crisp morning air. “Today is a busy day”, he though to himself. The senate was in session today and he had to meet with his ministry officials. A quick change into more formal cloths and he was ready to start another long day.
The first on his agenda was a meeting with his ministry officials. Eight of the ten were appointed because they were the best diplomats, treasures and statesmen in the world. The other two were the best soldiers that Hirt knew. The first was Peter Eisley, a navel lieutenant during the third world war and now an admiral. Eisley and Hirt met while stationed in the pacific. They had become close friends over the years and there was nobody who Hirt trusted more as a Minister of Defense. The second was Hirt’s lifelong friend and fellow soldier, General Chris Faber. Faber wasn’t always a general. When the third great war ended, Faber was merely a colonel. Hirt left army life and began the creation of the Coalition. Faber stayed in the army and would rise to the rank of general. By then, Hirt had suceeded in the creation of the Coaltion and offered Faber a job as his new Minister of War. The life of a soldier no longer held the spark that it once posed and Faber took the job.
Hirt walked towards the cabinet meeting room. He hated walking through the long and winding hallway. It was the only area that passed by the press room and he hated the press. The press however, loved him. He was a young president and a rookie in politics. To the mass media he was gold. At first they followed him everywhere and were after him at all times. As time worn on so did the presidents patience. He began to hide from the cameras and the nosy reporters. At that point the pressed turned ugly and showed it through their columns. Some complained about the childish behavior of the leader of the world. Others hinted that perhaps the president had something to hide. The tabloids claimed a flat out scandal. Each night the news trucks encamped around the Presidential Mansion. The straw that broke the camels back came one warm summer night when the presidents wife, Lauren Hirt fell and broke her leg. It took a half an hour for the news trucks to be moved so the ambulance could get to the masions entrance. As his wife was moved to the ambulance the photographers swarmed around her and blocked the way back to the E.M.U staff waiting in the ambulance. From that point onward the president would never speak directly to the media. He was almost never seen by a news camera and talked to the media by the use of a speaker phone.
He was close to the door and could hear the voices of eager reporters. He started to walk faster, maybe he could pass by without notice. His hopes were dashed as his face was lit by a few bright camera flashes. Secret service men blocked the door as the president walked by. The masses of reporters tried to push their way through, but they were held back. Even while being shoved backwards they shouted out questions. “Sir, is their any truth to the rumors of a scandal at the Presidential Masion?” “Mr. President, is it true that you will be stepping down from office?” “President Hirt, do you plan on resigning because of the of your medical condition?”
Hirt turned the corner finding himself almost running down the hall. He couldn’t deal with the press today and he knew it. He quickly found his head of Chief of Security and began barking orders. “Johnson, I want you to get a security team and get those reporters out of this building and away from the entrances. I don’t care how you do it, but I do not want to see another reporter in this house until tomorrow. Is that understood?” “Yes sir, we’ll have them out of here in half an hour.” The security chief ran down the hall with a few guards as the president headed to the cabinet room.
The cabinet members were reviewing some papers as the president rushed in. “Good morning Mr. President”, they said in unison. “Good morning gentlemen. I have to be at the Senate in an hour so lets keep this one short. Johnson, how’s our finical situation.” “Well sir, the Coalition has doubled its finical gains since last month. The Global Market has gained seven hundred thousand points since it was introduced two months ago. However, trade in Europe and Asia is down do to recent events.” “Recent events?” “Yes Mr. President”, said the Minister of the State. “The situation with the Global Law violations.” “That was announced five days ago and the market was doing fine then. What happened?” “We’ll Mr. President this incident has sparked all kinds of problems. The states have become suspicious of each other.” “Is there anything that we can do?” “Unfortunately sir, we are powerless at the moment. Hopefully the hearings today will calm all the issues.” “Very well, in that case we will wait until next week. Until then I want some options if this does not stop today.” “Yes Mr. President, I’ll see to it.” “Good. I’ll expect a report by tomorrow. Now, Admiral Eisley I understand there is a problem with some of the defense systems in Europe.” “As well as Asia sir. Siberia is also complaining about a lack of troops and weapons. They claim that they want to be ready in case Russia decides to use force.” “Well. what are they asking for?” “They want new land to air anti-missile weapons as well as an permit to increase military production.” “How much production do they want?” “They need a permit for five million new troops and at least a million new tanks, mobile rocket launchers and mobile artillery.” “Tell them that I’ll give them permits for the anti-missile request, but I have to consult the senate for that much production. Any other requests?” “There have also been requests made by Britian and Germany.” “What do they want?” “Prototype neutron bomb technology.” “No.” “May I remind you that this is the fifth time they have requested and Spain does have neutron weapon technology.” They have neutron bomb capabilities too, as well as the rest of N.A.T.O. The answer is no. That prototype is still restricted to american and Isralis use only. It’s still in its testing stage and both countries, the Senate and myself need to vote in favor of arming them before the weapons can be deployed. I can not simply grant their requests. If that’s settled, is there anything else.” “No Mr. President. I do believe that is the last on the agenda.” “Very well then, I’ll see you all tomorrow.” “Yes, Mr. President.” The meeting ajourned and the ministers filed out of the room.
Hirt stood by the window and stared out at the slow falling snow. “Chris we need to talk, you too Pete”, he said without looking back. “Yes”, Chris said quietly. “I need to know how the Spainish got their hands on neutron bomb technology.” “The Spanish say they discovered it on their own.” “I know that Pete, but I just do buy that story. We all know that Spain doesn’t have the technical capability of building a neutron bomb. How could they have build one in such a short time. Japan doesn’t have that knowledge. The Chinese don’t. Not even the Russians have that kind of technology.” “How do you think they got it Steve?” “I’m not sure Chris. They had to have gotten it from a neutron weapon country. Look I want to make sure that there aren’t any leaks or even worse, someone who’s selling to the highest bidder. Chris. I need you to investigate the U.S and Britain. Pete, I need you to look at Israel, Germany and Italy. If any states have anything strange with records or documents, contact me as soon as possible.” “Yes sir!” The two bolted out the door and were already contacting the research and development centers of the Coalition states. The president was about to sit down, but was interrupted by an aide. “Excuse me Mr. President, but your motorcade is ready.” “All right. Tell them that I’ll be down in a few minutes.” “Yes Mr. President.” The aide scurried down the stairs and Hirt stopped to get himself a cup of coffee. “No rest for the weary”, he thought to himself. “No rest for the weary.” The president turned to the window and stare out at the cloud covered sky as flakes of snow blew past the window. Yet, just as President Hirt’s day was well underway, a young college students day was just beginning.
