I was on a vacation where NO computers were available. I know that’s hard to believe, but, it’s true. So, I hope like this addition to my series, and if you haven’t read the others, (even though they suck) you might get a little confused. If you actually ARE interested in reading those, then search my name. Now, onto the report!

The Adventures of the Hunter V
Chapter 6
A shuttle began to near the docking bay of the Science Vessel Danny was on. A bead of sweat fell from Danny’s hair. He was perspiring. He was nervous without his old Ghost uniform to put on and cloak with. He never liked getting too close to an enemy without cloak. He used one of the calming techniques that were taught to him at his Ghost Academy. He began to breathe deeper and calm down. His mind became clearer as well.
He lined up with his crewmen at the entrance of the docking bay, where the Shuttle was starting to land. The jets of the Shuttle began to whistle as the repulsor jets for landing came on. Thick billows of steam came from the ship’s engines. These jets heated and pushed Danny’s body back, but he kept himself straight. He was going to let any Protoss see any weakness with him.
The Shuttle’s back downs were opened with another blast of steam, and several Zealots jumped out, along with what looked like a Templar. The Zealots flanked the Templar as they began to walk forward towards the Captain.
When they reached the Captain, the Templar and the Captain exchanged muttered words. Well, the Captain did, the Templar used his telepathic powers to speak to the Captain. They then began to walk towards the Captain’s “office”, if you could call it that. Since the ship had so many experiments to do, there was not much room to store things. So the Captain’s private office was more of a storage room. This is what was transgressed between the envoy and the Captain:
“Welcome to our ship, Templar,” said the Captain.
“Thank you, Captain. Although, I have come here to exchange more than pleasantries,” replied the Templar.
“What is it?” asked the Captain.
“We have received some information. Our intelligence has given us some vital information that we have had to come aboard for. Some of your experiments are very interesting to us, although that is not the reason why we are here. We have also received some intelligence about one of your crew. A certain, Daniel Owens, to be precise. We will have to take him away with us, and I will leave one of my Zealots here to help you in case you need help anytime soon. He will be under your command,” said the Templar.
“Why do you want to take Danny? He is one of my best officers!” replied the captain.
“That is classified information to anyone other that a Protoss ranked at least a Templar or above,” replied the Templar.
“To hell with you classified information!” yelled the Captain.
“Be careful, Captain. Remember, Captain, I can easily destroy this ship and it’s occupants. You are all expendable, except for Daniel Owens,” said the Templar.
“Fine, take him, he’s yours. Your Zealot is worth the trade,” said the Captain.
What the two officers didn’t know was that Danny was listening on this conversation. He used his Ghost training to creep up upon the two. Danny had to escape. The Protoss were not trustworthy to the Terrans. The Zealot was dangerous on board, and he would be in even more trouble if he were put on that ship. He needed to escape.
Danny walked back to his bunkroom. He needed to get his uniform on. When he had changed, he put his Cloak on. He walked quietly to the escape pods, avoiding some patrolling Zealots, who were walking around the ship. When he reached the escape pods, he loaded all of his gear into them. He packed only his essentials, and climbed in. It smelled like fumes back there, as the engine was nearby. It made Danny gag. Then he set his controls for a world nearby that had a Terran outpost on it; Bracto. He blasted off. The small engines took a while to warm up, as they were really old. The noise grew from a small hum to a large roar, and then he detached from the starship. The ship turned onto auto-control, and jetted to Bracto. A Corsair picked up the small ship’s movement through space. He quickly reported it to the Arbiter, who relayed it to the Templar on board the Magellan. The Templar said to follow, but to not destroy…yet.
Meanwhile, on the escape pod, Danny saw the Corsair tearing after him on his computer screen. He had to change his course to confuse the Corsair’s computer system. If he could get out from the Corsair’s tracking web, then he could get away without pursuit. He needed to go by a planet that was radiating transmission waves, or the like. Unfortunately, none were nearby.
“What am I gonna’ do?” asked Danny to himself. “Shit! What do they want with me? Have they figured out my secret? Do they know who I am?” “Damn it! Why does this asshole have to be such a good flier? He’s a very good pilot. Staying a good distance away… Why can’t this mother fucker have weapons?”
As if to answer his prayer, a window popped up on his computer screen. “What’s this?” thought Danny. When he looked at for a little, he realized that this ship did have a weapon… “A computer nullifier!” exclaimed Danny. “Thank GOD!” He engaged the system, and watched as a small hatch popped open in the back of his craft. It trained on to the Corsair, computing the calculations needed to get a direct hit. A small energy ball formed at the end of the gun… and fired.
But missed. The Corsair had dodged the blast. Just then, then engine stopped. All of the computers short circuited, sending sparks showing upon Danny. “SHHHHEEEEEIIIIITTTTTTTT!” yelled Danny. “SHIT, SHIT, SHIT, SHIT!” yelled Danny. At that moment, a planet’s gravitational pull started to take the small ship into the planet. The ship was beginning to tumble through the atmosphere of the planet. Bits of armor plating were being torn off the ship’s hull. If the computers didn’t come back on soon, Danny’s ship would hit the surface going at a speed of over 500,000 miles per hour. Danny was holding on for dear life inside the ship, but he had an idea: maybe he could hot-wire the circuits inside the ship to get everything to work… He had to try. If not, it meant plummeting to certain death. Danny opened a small panel on the side of the ship, and upon seeing a whole mess of bunched wires, criss-crossing in every direction, he said, “SSSSSHHHHHIIIIIITTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” He began to take wires out and put them in their proper place. Although it was futile, there was too much to do. Danny was only 3 miles away from the surface of the planet, but had slowed down to only 125,000 miles per hour. In English, that means he’s screwed. At 1 mile away, Danny started to say his prayers, but then he began to slow at a tremendous speed. He was being slowed and pulled back towards the sky. When he looked through his overhead viewing glass, he saw a Battle Cruiser. It was using a tractor beam to pull the ship back. With the tractor beam on full power, the ship was barely able to pull the ship out of the dive to the surface. The tractor beam pulled the ship up to the Cruiser, and brought it into the docking area. The ship was so bashed up, that the metal plating must have been removed before anyone could remove Danny from the cockpit of the ship. Then Danny was rushed to the Medical Operation Room, where Danny was treated for many injuries to his body, which included two broken ribs, a dislocated shoulder, and several torn ligaments and muscles throughout his body, as well as several cuts and gashes from the torn metals. When Danny was patched up, an officer requested Danny to come to the bridge and meet the Commander. When Danny replied that he couldn’t even stand up, the officer got a little pissed off. When Danny saw his face on the Vid-Screen, he was red, one eye was bulging, and he was yelling.
“WELL THEN! I GUESS THE CAPTAIN WILL HAVE TO HAUL HIS ASS TO YOU! SINCE YOU ARE SOOOO INJURED YOU CAN’T EVEN STAND UP! THAT’S A GREAT EXCUSE! YOU PUSSY!” shouted the officer.
“Yeah, I guess he will, won’t he? And don’t you think you’re overreacting a little?” asked Danny.
“NOOOOOO, I DON’T. THE CAPTAIN IS ON HIS FUCKING WAY, YOU PUSSY,” answered the officer.
“Don’t call me a pussy,” replied Danny.
“PUSSY!” yelled the officer, and he cut the link.
“I’ll shoot him later,” muttered Danny.
Then the Captain walked in. He was tall and muscular. He was also very surly looking. Brown hair and blue eyes made him look like a true Russian, which he was (Stupid commie that he was…). His name was Alexi Ruchikov. He immediately started in questioning Danny about what had happened, and what was going on. Danny answered every question thoroughly and quickly, for he was very tired from the surgery that had taken place.
“Vhy did you abandon your shipp?” asked the Captain.
“The Protoss had taken over the vessel and everyone was taken prisoner. I escaped to warn someone. Although I cannot remember the space coordinates right now. Besides, they have probably already left the area, the Protoss don’t tend to hang around an open area too long…” replied Danny.
“Vell, dat sounds reasonable… Ok then, I guess dat’s all I need to ask right now, you may go to your sleeping quarters now,” said Alexi.
“Uhhhhhh, that’s kind of hard, because I can’t walk…” replied Danny.
“Vatever,” said the Captain as he left for the bridge.
So Danny was left in the room, with no bed. Only a solitary operating table was there. Danny lied down upon it, hoping to get some rest, when he heard a familiar voice.
“So, how’s YOUR life been lately?” asked Julie.
Danny craned his neck around so he could be sure that it was really her.
“Shitty,” replied Danny.
“What you been up to lately?” asked Julie.
“Shitty stuff,” replied Danny.
“Well your just a right ray of sunshine, aren’t you?” retorted Julie.
Danny started to laugh a little, but realized that it hurt his ribs too much, and stopped.
“How have YOU been? And are you doing here? I thought you stuck on that planet the first time I met you?” asked Danny.
“I was transferred here when I escaped the planet. The Zerg are controlling the whole planet now, except for a large base on the North side that’s trying to re-take the area, but they don’t stand a chance… I’ve been fine, but I just got on board today,” replied Julie.
“Great. Now, I need to ask you something…” said Danny.
“What’s that?” replied Julie.
“Can you help me get to a room with a decent bed?” asked Danny.
“Yeah, sure,” replied Julie.
As Julie lugged Danny down the hall to the sleeping quarters, the Battle Cruiser was heading back to the base that it came from. Alexi had to fill out a report on Danny, Julie had to perform her duties as an onboard Medic, and Danny just slept. That is, until they landed.
Battle Cruisers always make a lot of noise when landing. It woke Danny pretty quickly, and he looked out his window. The ship began to turn on its side as it began to land. The repulsor engine began to kick in, and the ship’s engines began to scream as if in protest. Then, all seemed to stop as the craft hovered in the air for a couple of seconds, sizing up the landing port. Then the ship started to slowly fall to the ground. It took over ten minutes for the Cruiser to finally land. When it did, all left the ship, as well as Danny, only he was on a stretcher. He was brought to the Command Center, where he was put in the Hospital Wing. It took him a few days in rehabilitation, but he soon became well and was able to walk around, even though his ribs and shoulder were still healing. Julie visited often, telling him what was going on throughout the base.
There seemed to be an arousal of Zerg activity on the planet. Several bases had been under attack lately. Nothing large enough to actually take over a base, but the main base had started to train more Wraith pilots, Goliath pilots (which had the Charon Booster upgrade already), and Marines and Medics. Firebats were already in a large stock. Reinforcement’s were sent to every base, just in case.
What they weren’t expecting was a surgical drop. It could be repelled, just not as quick as a brute force attack. That is exactly what happened.
Danny was sitting at his bed in his room, eating lunch, when the alarm was set off. Three Overlords carrying around 10 Hydralisks dropped their cargo at the back of the base. Danny walked as fast as he could to the problem, in his Ghost uniform. Then something very unexpected happened, a Protoss Shuttle cam in right after the Overlords and dropped, nothing, or what seemed to be nothing. A Dark Templar was actually swinging around away from the turrets to see if he could do any damage. Danny finally got outside, but before he could do anything, he suddenly became very tired, and blacked out. He was picked up by the other Dark Templar in the Shuttle and brought back inside. Then the Shuttle lifted off, leaving the other Dark Templar to fend for himself (he died later).
Danny awoke a few hours later. He was still inside the Shuttle. He tried to stand up, but found that he was strapped down.
“Do not move, you will only hurt yourself more, and we don’t want that. At least until we get you on another Protoss-controlled planet,” said the Dark Templar to Danny, using his telepathic powers.
“What do you want with me? I’m just a normal—“ started Danny.
“We know who you really are. Do not lie,” interrupted the Dark Templar.
At that moment, Mutalisks, followed by an Overlord, intercepted the Shuttle, and began to attack it. The Shuttle stopped moving, its engines had been destroyed. The Mutalisks stopped firing.
“They know you’re here,” said the Dark Templar.
“Well, I’m just Mr. Popularity today, aren’t I?” replied Danny.
The Overlord approached the Shuttle, and the Mutalisks began to fire on the doors, eventually destroying them. The Overlord approached and opened a flap, letting the contents fall upon the Dark Templar, which was quickly killed, and Danny was pushed into the Overlord. Inside the Overlord was disgusting. The Ventral Sacs are not the best place to be for a Terran. They smell, they are dripping with some…stuff, and being surrounded by Zerg in a cramped area is not fun. But was the killer for Danny, was the fact that Julie was among them.
“Julie! Are you ok? What’s going on? Where you captured too?” asked Danny hysterically.
“You don’t get it? Do you? And your act isn’t fooling anyone anymore. I am a part of the Broods. I am part of the Swarm. The foolish Terran that I was before I was brought into the fold is no more. And you, “Danny”, I knew who you really were from the moment I saw you. Why are you with the Terrans? I thought you hated them? And being trained to be a ghost, just as Kerrigan was before her transformation into my Queen. You never fooled anyone, except maybe your Terran brethren, the fools that they are. I knew you the moment I saw you, fool. Every Zerg has your image burned into the back of their minds, even Zerglings. They may be the lowest string of our Swarm, but they can sense you. I was the first to recognize you, and Kerrigan will reward me beyond my wildest dreams when I bring you to her. She, “Has a bone to pick with you”, as your Terran brethren would say,” replied Julie.
“You know who I am?” replied Danny.
“Yes. As I said, every Zerg can recognize you, Raynor.”
