.....So I decided to go on to B.net one day to find a game. It was early in the morning and I didn't feel up to using a shitload of macro like everyone does in those BGH games or like clan [sd]$$$$$$$$$$$$$$money moneymoney. I decided to create a 1v1 lost temple game and used the creative name "1v1 LT" to attract players from AROUND THE WORLD! Once i created the server a person named [dbz1324]gohanxx12352 joined my game (or something like that). I looked at a few things. First his lag bar seeemed to be going off my screen which was really a pain in the ass cuz i never knew that could happen. Second he was in a dbz clan, and there are countless many out there, most of which suck. Lastly his record was like 1-14-16 with more disconnects then his wins and losses put together. I used 10 of my braincells and i banned his ass back to the chatroom. (smack). Then this guy named GSTKI came in with 1g. (wow i like those damn colors, theyre so...colorful.) It was all good so i decided to start the game. Hoping for a quick game so I could get a bite of breakfast, i decided to end it early. I WAS WRONG.

Redemption6 (me)- Long ago I thought i was a good player seeing as how I could beat anyone in my town by far... However as I first entered battle.net and then br.com i figured out i wasnt half as good a player as some others were. I can be considered an expert for most games however I am not truly an expert yet. Though not well known I can give a reader interesting games to look for. My favorite race is protoss and zerg, and i obviously of course get the terran.
GSTKI- I don't know much about him because he just wandered into my server. All i can say is that he is talented and has potential, though it is not maximized yet. He clumps his buildlings close together but doesn't give up and has fair command over his troops in terms of macro and micro

.....I started the game at the 8:00 position with a "shiny white command center" (a phrase that has been overused 200 times) while my opponent GSTKI started at 6:00 with a bright new orange nexus. Both of us were able to clone our probes and scvs moderately and we both started with basic builds. I scouted with an scv at about 10/17 or so and I found him on my first try going counter-clockwise. Joe the great SCV was able to relay some important information, including my opponent going gateway, then forge (strange). I just assumed he was being dumb and went on with the game, storing Joe at the top of GSTKI's base so i could get more information later. (muhahaha, joe can hide to, never thought you knew that an scv could do THAT did you?) At about 2 minutes into the game again Joe powered up his thrusters and moved his ass back into GSTKI's base, seeing a fully completed gateway, and a forge. ...Well i thought, not much more then what i picked up last time...However joe wasn't lucky this time as a newly produced zealot was sent upwards to pursue the lone scv. Fusion cutter hit psi blade as an epic battle occured. Joe however wasn't known for being a dumbfuck and he ran his ass down to GSTKI's nexus where he spotted an assimilator. Then he hurried his ass back to base. I knew I had a few options and only a small time to act.

"I just assumed he was being dumb..."

After some pondering I decided that a mecha build (mecha is a cool word that i got from the movie AI, SO SAD! :() which meant tanks, goliaths, SVs, and a few vultures here and there. I also concluded that he would probably go with dragoons and dts with a drop here and there. He may go air in the end but i doubted it would happen yet.

*Note: in the picture you will see 3 pictures. The first picture is Joe the lone and great scv. The bottom one is a picture of my tech i believe, 2 facts and a starport. At the middle is my opponents tech, which is kinda cluttered. My tech is taken a bit after my opponents tech, maybe a minute or two. Both are taken LATER than this time in the game

Old master Roshi (dont ask) taught me a few things about ladder maps. First you need to outproduce the enemy, and second you must out-expand the enemy, (and third you have to beat the enemy...). remembering the 2nd one i decided to expand to my mineral and gas natural just outside my ramp. However i decided not to erect a CC immediately and put a bunker and a supply depot for defense.

I had a bunker and a depot up and one marine in the bunker. What I hadn't known was that he had a probe in my natural hiding behind the minerals the whole time (GRR...) and he quickly sent 2 zealots and a drag to quell this threat to him. My marine in one bunker put up a valiant fight, (one dumb zealot wandered into the range of my other bunker erected on the top of the cliff and was killed) taking a zealot down to 24 health before falling and dying..all alone, with no scv to even repair the bunker. (dumb me again). The dragoon and zealot were about to go up my crudely assembled wall-in of a depot/barracks when my first tank rumbled out of the factory, definitly pissed off. The sound of sieging was heard as

the dragoon got hit with 70 damage, first running away and then running back to engage my tank. NO CHANCE. my tank didnt get hit once as i blew the dragoon to hell. The zealot felt content sitting in my mineral only.

After that I had tanks to protect my expansion so I expanded to my natural again and started getting in the cash. GSTKI found this, and realizing he couldn't take it, he decided to do a DT drop and use that distraction to expand. His plan worked (I have no pics of the DT drop). Dropping 2 zealots and 2 dts he overpowered the few turrets and 2 sieged tanks by my mineral line, and still had 2 dt left. He was just about to go scv splicing when reinforcements in the form of 2 tanks and a goliath killed the threat. Result: 2dts+2z's lost, 450 min and 200 gas vs 1 turret and 2 tanks lost, 375 and 200 gas. Not a bad fight on my side. Our minerals in our main were slowly drying out so he expanded to the 2:00 main with a force of 2 zeals, 2 dts, and 2 dragoons. He was able to get up a nexus when I comsated his ex. Seeing the nexus there i thought about just running in with 2 tanks and a few goliaths, and use some micro to beat his ex. However, knowing he had reinforcements, this would be a dumb idea.

Seeing that the natural happened to be RIGHT next to the ramp (like RIGHT below it) I decided that containing him would be enough. This would let me outmine him 3-2 on both gas and mins while containing his ex and eventually destroying it. I sent a SCV to build a command center there.

I was sure greedy though, because I wanted more minerals (pig...). I expanded to the 12 position and had a CC and supply depot building when I heard weird whooshing sounds. "Must be the wind" i thought until i saw the trees werent rustling. Suddenly i clicked. "GODDAMIT a DT!". I quickly canceled the CC but the dt was able to get the 2 scvs and the depot due to my slow reaction time. Now I wanted this expansion like hell, so i sent 3 goliaths and a SV to go eliminate this sad threat.

I pulled off a maneauver beautifully by engaging the dt and dmatrixing the front goliath before he got to the dt he was going to hit. By doing this all 3 goliaths survived and the one that got hit twice was intact with 124/125 health. I then started the building of a CC.

Sadly, GSTKI showed that I bit off more then I could chew by sending 9 dragoons to eliminate that new expansion. I didn't have enough forces to kill the threat, so I watched in shock as the 9 dragoons raped my goliaths. (Later i found out he had obs ALL over the map). Red haze seethed through my eyes and an unquenchable anger comsumed my mind, HOW COULD HE RAPE THOSE GOLIATHS SO BRUTALLY! I nearly screamed, a weird look from my brother kept me back though... I decided to take his expansion and use it to replace my old one (yea thatz right bitch). However when i comsated the middle I found lo and behold, the 9 dragoons that raped my goliaths. "haha" i thought, now i could get revenge and take his ex. I took my 8 or so tanks and 8 goliaths and went to the middle. I sieged my tanks up just outside dragoon range and destroyed 4 of em. Stupidly on his part, all his drags were on hold position. He wasn't dumb though, he moved the remaining 5 to the right. I decided to do a dumb pincer thing and move all my tanks one way and my goliaths to the right. Unfortunately my dumb tanks got sidetracked so his drags moved right, and my 8 goliaths confronted them. This left me with only 2 goliaths left and they only survived cuz my fat tanks finally got there. I ran my tanks to my ex and he was about to engage me with 6 scouts when he pulled back. It was obvious now that he knew about my expansion by his ex and could do NOTHING about it. Now thatz what im talking about. Knowing that he could do nothing he decided to expand to the bottom right island, which I didn't find until sometime later

Status Report

Redemption6- At this point you could more or less say that I have a small amount of map control, however I cannot yet enter his main or his natural yet. I have contained his only expansion but he has one more building. I have more or less 15 tanks and 30 some goliaths at my command witha few SV's here and there. Upgrades are just Churon Boosters for my goliaths and 0-1 for vehicles and 0-1 for infantry. (i know, sad).

GSTKI- My opponent has a fair amount of minerals though nothing compared to mine. He is mining out of 2 exs and is building a 3rd while I am mining out of 3 and preparing to mine out of his ex once i destroy it. He has decided not to pursue a worthless ground assault and is starting to make all forms of air with 1-1 upgrades for them.

Sadly GSTKI had deicded to go carriers from 4 or so stargates. I found this out the hard way as I comsated his main entrance, and seeing 9 or so carriers there I decided that it would be a good time to start buildling goliaths out of my 4 facts (i only had 4...). I also added a few missle turrets on the bottom of my base but in my mind there wasn't a huge threat. I was wrong..again. Anticipating more time to prepare for the attack, I started producing more troops and rallying them. I had about 30 goliaths dispersed ALL around the map. Obviously he knew that i had comsated him, because I only had 12 in my main when he attacked with the full might of his air fleet. 12 carriers, 6 scouts, and 2 sairs.

I knew that he had caught me at a bad time and I had 6 goliaths in my natural in my main and 12 coming back from the big battle at his ex (i had sent more reinforcements there). He used some hit and run tactics which was clever with his carriers. He attacked first, then when i manually targeted his carriers with my long ranged goliaths, he pulled back. Then he reappeared at the bottom of my base with his carrier fleet (it should be noted he never used scouts or sairs) and eliminated 6 supply or so and all the missle turrets, taking potshots and killing a few goliaths here and there. I was down to about 6 goliaths when my 12 other ones came in. 18 goliaths were a formidable force, but for 12 carriers they weren't that strong. Unfortunatly he demolished my goliath force with 5 carriers left, and destroyed the rest of my main, including my trusty comsat. (it should be noted that he did not pursue to my natural and i had a newly built factory there). From this factory at my natural i started pumping goliaths while building turrets to hold out in case he attacked me too early. Sadly though he felt more content chewing up my main into pieces. At the same time I had entered his base with 8 tanks and NO air defense. The tanks were able to rip up a cyber core, forge, 2 gateways, and a few cannons/pylons before 6 scouts sent away from the air fleet destroyed them.

Realizing my production was limited to one fac now, I decided to rebuild 6 facs in my new main (his old expansion) and rebuilding my tech and supply. I also expanded to the natural of 12:00 in case I needed more minerals. At this point I was mining from 2 bases and he was mining from his southeast island. When I had around 6 or so goliaths he attacked my natural. However a barrage of missles chased his carriers away, eliminating 2 of them. Then i paraded my 6 goliaths and fought his remaining 3 carriers. I looked on in frustration as my goliaths all died again, leaving one carrier. This carrier though didn't want to die like his brothers, and ran his ass back to my opponents main.

Now my opponent was in trouble. He didn't have much minerals and I had just finished 6 facs and a starport AND i had started building turrets near his main and put a few SV's there for map control. When I had 30 goliaths or so I decided that it was time to attack. I comsated his main and was pleased to find nearly nothing there. Using my 30 goliaths, I destroyed the few cannons at the ramp and went in.

The battle wasn't one of those GOSU micro ones where the man with 3 drags and a few carriers beats 30 goliaths. I paraded in and just demolished everything. I lost about 4 goliaths and he lost his last few carriers and all of his main. I thought the battle was over, and I just began comsating and sweeping up stray forces on the map....Once again...I was wrong. God hath shine the light on my opponent as he was able to build a lone robo fac at his southeast expansion. His intention was to expand back to his natural at his main, and by god he was going to succeed.

"Once Again...I was wrong."

He had 2 troops left besides his probes and he used both of these VERY well to my amazement. His first troop was a DT. Using the dt he started attacking my new EX at 12:00. I felt some strange urge to send every goliath in his main there so I did...and the dt died. This however...gave him the chance do expand back to the natural. He built 2 pylons, a forge, a nexus, 4 gateways, and a few cannons in his minerals before I had a clue on what was going on. The other troop was the scout.

The scout was a pain in the ass because first I comsated his southeast ex, which to my knowledge was the last thing left. (i said "gg" and he said "not yet..." which i found a little weird but i dismissed it from bluffing) I saw some cannons warping in there. In excitement I quickly loaded up 2 tanks and went down to the southeast. Cleverly though he had put the scout between my new main and his ex. The dropship was killed before it got there and the cannons warped in. His new ex was done and he was producing tons of speed lots at this point.

Still stupidly thinking that his SE ex was the last one left, I decided to make a nice drop on it. 6 tanks and 4 gols loaded up into 4 ships accompanied by 2 valks and 2 wraiths. I was about to execute this perfectly when his scout came in and engaged my valk. I thought my valk could beat it but it was obviously not to be, I ran the valk away at 20 health and let the other valk kill it along with a goliath. Then i repaired it all and I was ready to go. At this point...he had around 30 lots. I started executing it when a patrolling goliath suddenly disappeared. "What the fuck!?" I thought...I sent 6 goliaths down there and thats when 30 zealots just came up and raped them and headed to my base. Quickly I sent my remaining 20 goliaths to engage but they came in a line and died easily, leaving around 25 lots to take down my new main. Frantically I decided to start producing tanks and gols while dropping on his SE expansion. After some trouble and losing ALL my dropships cept one, I was able to drop 2 tanks at the SE part of his SE expansion. These 2 tanks destroyed the ex, leaving his mineral bases at one.

Obviously GSTKI wanted to be a pain in the ass and he decided to attack me anyways. With his 30 lots he rammed my 12:00 ex first, destroying the few innocent scvs there. "MURDERER!!!!!!!". Then he went into my natural at 3:00, destroying the meager defense of 2 tanks and a bunker with 3 marines, despite my scv's attempts to repair them. I was wondering whether to lift off my command center...and i decided not to. This turned out to be a game deciding factor. 10 or half of the remaining lots started hitting my scvs and my CC while the others went up the ramp. New forces of 2 tanks and 4 goliaths with some hiding and micro destroyed the first 10. The second 10 had just slaughtered my nexus and went up the ramp, killing the remaining forces I had. But...I had already gotten all the time I needed. 2 tanks and 4 more goliaths joined the force, and together with some nice micro I was able to destroy the last few lots.

I knew that GSTKI was fucked now and he was. I still had 6 facs and I produced 12 goliaths and a few tanks. Flanked by SV's i went into his base, ripping it to shreds and avenging all the goliaths I had lost. Since his base was so cluttered, the 3 dragoons and 2 zealots couldnt get out, and they perished in an awesome blaze of arclite fire. He said "gg" honorably and left.
