Introduction

Well, this being my third report, I figured I'd eventually find a battle report worthy for submission as I continued to look for good 2v2 Lost Temple game. I know what your thinking "another Lost Temple battle report", but what can I say. I love the map because, their is plenty of expansions which means more action and mass units and more rushing to take over the map and competing for territory. Even though I lose this match, I thought it was really challenging and worthy to point out my opponents flaws and triumphs.

As of late, my Starcraft skillz have been increasing a bit at a time. I'm starting to remember all the strategies that I used before, and making my own 3l33t building strategy for all the races. I always play as Protoss now, since I find them to be the easiest and most powerful race (imoo). Right now I've made a few changes in my building strategy and unit micro management when facing all the races. FFA's are really hard to manage the right units because you could be up against zerg but your more worried about terran and you have to make the right choice as to what management you want without getting completely screwed over.

Now for most of you that have read my last 2 reports can note them as text only, which is understandably annoying, since most of you are probably expecting a professionally made battle report with tons of graphics. I can live with a 6 but this time I'm not going to set my goals up to anything higher then a 8. I know the excuses but, you do a half-assed job, you get a half-assed mark.

Of course if your like me you know just how crazy time can pass by when your having fun. And as of late, writing these reports have been fun. It's something I would like to do whenever I have a cool battle to report. In the future I hope I can start reporting tournaments matches and such. But that would be my ultimate goal. Even if I am not making any images as of yet, I figure if I can just stick to the over-all content of the battle report, and explain it to the fullest as much as possible, then I can be satisfied.

So without boring you further, here is the start of a great 2v2 Lost Temple match.

2v2 Lost Temple

It all starts out as myself *cough*Zorgb0t!*cough* as Protoss at 3 o'clock while my partner whdhks (don't ask) starts out at Terran at 9 o'clock. Our opponents are TOOL-LaTeRaLuS as Zerg starting out at 12 o'clock. and noneofyourbusin as Zerg also, at 6 o'clock.

For the start we started gathering minerals as quickly as possible. In choosing a different tactic to last time. During the time of my 8th probe being built I sent out my 7th to scout, but before I left the ramp, I made a pylon in hopes that I could keep up this time, rather then worry's about annoying messages detailing that I have to make more pylons *shakes fist at computer*

I find noneofyourbusin gathering minerals with his drones and move on to the 12 o'clock. base to find LaTeRaLuS gathering minerals as well. As the game progresses a little further, everyone starts a building plan. I begin by making two Gateways close to my pylon I made close to the front of my ramp and another pylon close to my Nexus. whdhks makes a wall in not directly close to his ramp, but instead of being old fashion makes it a few inches away from the ramp.

LaTeRaLuS starts off by making a second hatchery and a spawning pool and sends a overlord over to my base to keep close watch. noneofyourbusin does the same thing only he plays it smart and has 2 sunken colony's waiting in the back of his already 2 developed hatchery's. At which point all of us have a building gathering gas at the same time.

whdhks is moving really quickly with a factory already build and a Starport on the way with another supply depot close to his minerals and a few marines being made to defense his unique block off.

LaTeRaLuS makes a Hydralisk Den and starts pumping out Hydra's and floating them around the edge of my base just dying for an excuse to get killed. Of course he takes fair distance to ensure I won't notice until it's too late.

I however stick close to my base and continue to pump out Zealots out of my 2 gateway's while his overlord is still hovering around. I made a Cybernetics Core and proceeded to making a few overlords.

noneofyourbusin makes a massive amount of Zerglings while LaTeRaLuS moves in a bit closer still spawning more Hydra's. noneofyourbusin brings his Zerglings to the front of my base close to the exit, and is almost ready to make a team attack on my heavily guarded Zealot and Dragoon base.

I bring a Zealot close to the edge of the my base to see if there are any units down below, and sure enough, I spot the hydra's. noneofyourbusin sends a zergling to attack me, probably in hopes that he can get a clear shot of my units (even though there is a overlord still hovering about me)

Shortly after the Zergling is molested, there armies combine and attack my base. With little chance of survival at this rate, I pull back to my ramp in hopes of slowing down a swarm of Zerglings and Hydra's devouring my Zealots.

I get my Dragoons out finally and start pushing the Overlord hovering over my base while the attack is beginning at the front. I move my units up to the ramp and start attacking the zerglings coming up the ramp. By doing this, they can't overwhelm my Zealots on a 3/1 ratio and I can control the amount of units coming up the ramp. Instead of retreating, both LaTeRaLuS and noneofyourbusin decide to waste there units on my guarded ramp. While they did take out a chunk of my Zealots I still have a few left to keep the attack going while I was pumping out more Zealots my the Gateway's.

While this is all happening whdhks has already made 2 siege tanks defending his base and another Starport. He sends his 4 Wraiths to completely destroy noneofyourbusin's overlords. While this is successful injuring during the time that I am getting attacked, he loses all of his Wraiths due to LaTeRaLuS retreating his hydra's from battle and backing out noneofyourbusin's base.

LaTeRaLuS manages to get his overlord hovering over my base out in time and places it close to the second cliff where my Dragoons can't see it.

After that is all said and done, LaTeRaLuS goes for an expansion close to his base, and upgrades his Hatchery to a Lair. I keep pumping out Zealots and Dragoons, while whdhks has already made a Command Center and placed it at the top left island.

noneofyourbusin makes a Spire and plans on making Mutalisks while LaTeRaLuS makes a small defense around his expansion, while whdhks harasses his Overlords with a new pack of Wraiths. Of course, not being completely smart about it, whdhks loses his to Wraiths to Hydra's.

I get the bright idea of sending a 5 pack of Zealots with leg enhancements to take out LaTeRaLuS small defense around his expansion. His defense includes 1 sunken colony, and 8 hydra's. I take out the Colony but I hardly kill one Hydra. So I send more Zealots, this time with Dragoons. I take out his army while whdhks does his annoying Wraith attack again and mutilates a few Overlords.

I send my high templar up and i am being ravaged by noneofyourbusin's Zerglings so I use Phi-Storm in an attempt to take them all out. Then the Hydra's start coming and take out both of my Templar just as one uses Phi-Storm on a pack. I send more Zealots in to take care of the job and take out noneofyourbusin's Hydra's. One survives, and try's to get away, but I ignore it and move into LaTeRaLuS base in hopes to take him out of the game.

He sends his pack of hydra's back and i'm confronted with a Sunken Colony shielded by buildings making it harder to get to with my Zealots. I move back and start taking out his Evolution Chamber which is out of harms way from the sunken colony. However my attack is quickly is ended as I see the spawn of hydra's coming. Knowing well that they would overwhelm me, I pull the smart move and move out of his base.

Thankfully, whdhks comes in for the rescue and sends 4 siege tanks right to he ramp and a pack of Marines to help me out. Unfortunately he doesn't go into siege mode and screws up a really good plan since he traps my units in and my Zealots have no where else to but hell. My units get Ravaged and LaTeRaLuS pushes forward more taking out the siege tanks and the marines.

I have another pack of Zealots on the way so send them to attack LaTeRaLuS 2nd expansion attempt. My attack however doesn't go over well as I'm attacking his developing Hatchery and am overwhelmed by Zerglings and Hydra's. Soon after, LaTeRaLuS takes his Overlords and starts packing them full of hydra's to send to yours truly.

Unfortunately for me, noneofyourbusin has a 7 pack of Mutalisks coming right for my base to attack my main mineral support while all of this is happening. I quickly notice this and send all my Probes down to my second expansion just so I wouldn't have to buy them again. I send my units back to attack the Mutalisks and unfortunately don't have much in terms of anti air except for my High Templar with Phi Storm.

With 3 high templars I try and unleash evil apon the cramped up MutaLisks with my Phi-Storm. I send 2 of my High Templar back and imbue them together to make a Archon. I use PhiStorm on the Muta's again while I've got Dragoons on the way. I then send my Archon to finish the job and take out the Muta's, which have taken out my Nexus.

Now those pack of Hydra's in LaTeRaLuS overlords drop right after. Of course my Archon falls to the swarm, however I manage to take out 2 Hydra's before my Archon explodes. I send my pack of Zealots to attack unfortunately it isn't enough.

But wait, it's not over yet, whdkhs has come to the rescue with his infamous Wraith attack. Of course it's kind of hard to attack with cloaked Wraiths when there are Overlords hovering over the Hydra's so he attacks those first. He gets the job done for me for the most part and goes back to his camping ways as I try desperately to keep up.

At this point I wasn't going to run the risk of getting probes killed so I moved them to whdhks's expansion and proceeded to make my own Nexus.

LaTeRaLuS try's to drop me again, and isn't very successful with his hydra drop again as I molests him with my Zealots. At the same time noneofyourbusin drops a pack of Zerglings into whdkhs main base and proceeds to dent his star ports. Fortunately enough for whdkhs, he's got enough Wraiths to deal with the problem and has a Bunker with Marines ready to take on any Zergling drop.

LaTeRaLuS drops with a pack of Hydra's soon after again, and this time, with avengence. He has double the amount of Hydra's he had last time and regardless of the amount of Zealots I have, I still don't put a dent in his small army and lose my main base finally.

whskhs try's to take out noneofyourbusin expansion with what else WRAITHS, but isn't very successful as a Spore Colony. is spawn and starts attacking his Wraiths clocked, but dead naked Wraiths along with a freshly spawned Hydralisk.

At this point, I'm tired.. And it doesn't seem like I can continue on with the battle. So I quit. Which when I look back at this battle report I wish I never did. It's a learning experience I guess, so I'll get over it sooner or later.

Thanks for reading my battle report.

Conclusion

I really liked this report. I think I made a lot of strives. Still no images, yes I know I should do it, but still I prefer reading it over instead of having the aid of images. I'll save the images for a really good Battle Report in the future.

Thanks for reading my Battle Report.
