THE HARD WON VICTORY
Whump Whump whump the tanks had been firing steadily to keep the enemies marines from rushing us. Every time they tried the tanks just smashed them using their 45mm shock cannons. The few marines that made it to the cover of the entrance canyon died. The steady bang bang bang of my Goliaths 25mm, cannons and the rattling bursts of Gauss rifles coming from the marines holed up in the bunkers. They could not sneak in cloaked ghosts due to the amount of missile turrets (which detect cloaked units) and for the same reasons the could not use a sufficient air attack to cause us to surrender. We had been cut off for three days after the rest of our forces had retreated after coming under very heavy fire from enemy tanks. The radio had been jammed since the enemy had moved forward.

Then the worst thing possible happened. The tanks had been keeping up a steady rate of fire to keep the enemy at bay when suddenly my missile turrets swung round and began firing. I looked up and saw a battle cruiser baring down on us. I ordered my goliaths and missile turrets to engage it then I saw wraith fighters coming in from the east. I ordered the marines the weren’t defending to station themselves around the tanks to protect the tanks. I was Keeping my wraith fighters grounded so that if I was able to mount a counter-attack I would have air cover. I decided to have the perimeter turrets in the east that had been engaging the battle cruiser (which was heavily damaged) to engage the wraith fighters in stead seeing as the marines on there on would not be able to hold out on there on against the wraiths. I put my wraith pilots on stand by as a last resort against this new threat.

Mean while the enemy launched a big attack force which was made up of marines, fire bats, medics, ghosts, goliaths and tanks. Luckily they had not researched siege mode or else they would have changed into siege mode and gave us a pounding way out of range. But seeing as the did not have it they charged the tanks with all the other units. They didn’t even spread out so that way most of there units were blasted by tank fire but about 3 tanks 1 goliath and 20 marines made it to the cover of the entrance canyon. I decided to risk it and sent some marines from the top down to where the bunkers were located. I also un-sieged two tanks and moved them down to the bunkers. When the two tanks came rumbling round the corner blasting away they were surprised as they came under fire from my two tanks and bunkered marine fire. I then ordered another two tanks on either side of the cliff to un-siege and fire on the enemies tank and goliath. The tanks and goliath were easy to take out and the enemies infantry was cut down by my two advancing tanks and unbunkered marines.

I decided to get my tanks to tank out all the known turrets I tried sending out a message to the surveillance craft in orbit and to my surprise the message got through. I got a reply almost straight away telling me all the co-ords. For the enemies missile turrets. I had my tanks take out the turrets. Then I decided to go on the offensive. Except for the outer rim of tanks the rest un-sieged and went down to the assembly area to get allocated with infantry teams and into divisions. Once this had been achieved I got the 1st armoured division and the 59th fire bat and marine division to lead the charge out of the city. I also received a message from HQ that the lines were on the move forward. I radioed back and said that I would lead a counter-strike back towards the lines and try to hook up with them. After about an hour of hard fighting we managed to hook up with our own lines and push up to the city.
