Hello
people, welcome to my newest Battle Report! I haven't
posted any BRs for quite some time now (2 months if
memory
serves but frankly, I wouldn't be too surprised if it
didn't) due to some... emotional problems that arose in
my mind as a result of my last girlfriend leaving me...
in short, if you were wondering where I was these last
month or so, let's just say I am having a bad month...
which already lasts for 3 months. Enough said about my
life, let's get to the point: this BR is the story of two
players: MijatV (me) and Black-Sun (my old friend, all
the way from Karamba.ru illegal servers that arose during
the beta and probably the best AT partner I'll ever have)
against other two players who were actually level 7 (and
we were level 1 at the time :P). The resulting battle was
long and very fucked up for both sides... it was also,
dare I say, as epic as WC3 battles get. And the BR of
this battle stands before you, as always, you can expect
to find lots of crappy humour, lots of huge pictures
(although I made them as small as possible this time) and
even bigger bunches of crappy humour, I hope you enjoj
yourself as much as I enjojed making this. 'Nuff said,
let's get to the actual report!
I present you:
Further thanks go to:
Black Sun - for being the best damn AT ally I ever had.
Dvorf - for giving me so much laught in my argues with
him
and for making the best Serbian WC3 forum (and the only
one when
you think of it, well, the only = best ;)).
Mulepton - for writing those awesome BRs that I learned
so much from.
Obsidian - for making my first BR what it is today.
twotasty - for giving me moderator status on RoW and my
own RoW webspace.
My on line buddies - Rincewind, Raxor, Ared, Paranon,
Drvodelja, Ora,
horde.curupt, Strike_Odin, Strike_Death and
Strike_Muslim., cfo, mrmajesty.
Thanks also go to all who sent me support e-mails about
my BRs and WC3 Page,
they really gave me a motivation to go on.
Also, thanks goes to all the best sites: junk.co.yu,
Tauren Totem and
of course: BattleReports.com
You most certenly
remember this guy from mine other BRs
since this is myself actually. Anyway, as
always, he plays his favourite race:
Undead and has, some time ago, decided to
become the first Serb to get an
abomination icon, let's all wish him luck
in this endevour :). In this game, Giga
is green Undead.
This guy is an
old on line friend of Giga aka MijatV. He
is a man who really loves to play orcs,
therefore, he plays them now as well. Not
much else to say, is there? In this game
he gets blue orcs. Although he usually
plays on Northrend he often comes to
Azeroth for some AT-in with Giga...
This warrior gets
teal Orc in this game and plays rather
offensively which is probably a part of
their overall strategy. Not much else to
say here except that he has an awesome
micro which is best seen in his
capability of quickly desposing of any
oposing wards.
This skilled
player is dark blue human in this game,
probably to be an oposition to Black-Sun
who, as mentioned, is light blue in
color, who is going to win? We leave you
to find out.
This game was our first AT
on Azeroth so logically, we were a level 1 team. As luck
would have it, we got to fight a level 7 team as our
first oponnents. Obviously, this was very demoralizing
and we were absolutely positive we were facing some
hardcore cheese users (caster massing, etc.).
As it was,
the map we played on was Lost Temple, I don't really see
a reason to bother explaining what LT is like since
probably everyone already know that. Then again, who
knows, so I'll just give a short overview of this lovely
map:
Starting
Locations: There
are 4 player locations: in upper middle a bit to the
left, upper right middle, lower middle a bit to the right
and lower left middle. Unused starting locations are
protected by a stone golem and three forest troll
berserkers.
Natural
Expansion Gold Mines: There are four natural expansion gold
mines, they are set clockwise from every starting
location and are protected by a team of trolls (two
berserkers, one tracker and one priest).
Err...
Unnatural Expansion Gold Mines: There are four
"unnatural" expansion gold mines, one of them
in upper right corner and another in the lower left
corner. Both are protected by an exacly same group of
creeps (a stone golem, a troll priest and a troll
berserker). The other two "unnatural expansion
mines" are in lower right and upper left corners of
the map, isolated from the rest of the map by water and
only accesible to flying units (therefore, in order to
expand there you'll need a zeppelin). These two gold
mines are both heavily guarded (a Granite Golem and two
Red Drakes) and are an excellent source of experience
points.
Shops: There are four
shops on this map, two Goblin Labs, set in diagonal from
upper left corner to the lower right corner and both
protected by a tought group of Ogres (two normal ogres,
one ogre lord and one ogre magi). The other two shops are
two goblin merchants, set on a diagonal from upper right
corner to lower left corner of the map. Both are
protected by a stone golem, two forest troll berserkers
and one forest troll priest.
Fountains: There is a
single fountain of health in center of the map, it is
protected by a group of strong gnolls (two overseers, two
assassins and two magicians (those guys who cast purge, I
can't remember their name :P)).
Other
Creeps: In the middle "temple" there are two
groups of trolls (a berserker, a tracker and a priest)
set in the same diagonal labs are set, two groups of
combined creeps (a gnoll poacher, a gnoll brute and an
ogre mauler) set in the same diagonal goblin merchants
are set and four groups of weak gnolls (two poachers and
a gnoll brute) which are set at all entrances into the
"temple".
All players
use some rather usual Build Orders (in future text: BOs),
MijatV first builds a Crypt and a
ziggurat and two acolytes, as soon as he got 300 gold he
began summoning an altar as well. Cudgel makes a farm, a barracks and an
altar somewhat slowly and Black-Sun and i8.food both begin making an altar and a burrow,
as mentioned above, rather usual BOs.
All four
players however have a single thing in mind: rush &
harassment combined with relatively quick teching. Soon
enough, all four players begin making their main
heroes...
Some time
passes and quickly, all four heroes are out. Just a few
moments before Black-Sun's Far Seer comes out of the altar, his
peons notice a single peasant spying on their base. The
newborn FS gives a chace but peasant manages to get to MijatV's base where he is abruptly
death coiled! First blood to MijatV!!!
As soon as
their heroes were ready, i8.food and Cudgel
amass their forces and move toward Black-Sun's base, probably considering it
an easier target. Obviously, the late peasant managed to
see the upgrading Necropolis in MijatV's base so the two attackers
decided to risk a battle with blue burrows rather then
face MijatV's "Teh Big Cannon".
Their armies consit of four footmen, a grunt, a FS with
feral spirit and an AM with water elemental.
Just as MijatV began exterming creeps at his
natural expansion site the enemy hit Black-Sun's town. Quickly, the attackers
focused their attacks on the rising barracks rather then
assault the two burrows that were quickly filling with
peons.
After
killing a troll tracker the green DK and five ghouls Town
Portaled into Black-Sun's base. Unfortunately for Cudgel, very fortunately for MijatV, Death Knight and his ghoul pets
are teleported around the dark-blue Archmage and quickly
reduce him to pieces, poor old man never even managed to
summon a water elemental.
I bet you
were all wondering where Black-Sun's Far Seer is at the moment and why
doesn't he come to aid his city. Well, he had more
pressing bussines: massacring Cudgel's peasants. As you can see on
the picture below, the two spirit wolves have some bloody
fun with gold mining peasants after they killed most of
the builders. During this act blue Far Seer was heard to
shout: "BWAAAHAHAHAHAH!!! Who's fucking up who
now!?! MUAHAHAAH!!!!"
Realizing a
good part of their workers were being gnawed upon i8.food and Cudgel leave Black-Sun's base and run to aid their own. As he
was attempting to catch up with fleeing footmen, the teal
FS gets swarmed by MijatV's
ghouls. The Death Knight mercilessly rans him thru and at
that single moment he realizes what he does the best:
kills heroes, his obvious happines at the discovery is
aparent from a single sentence he muttered during the
whole battle.
1:0 for MijatV and Black-Sun.
Deciding
it's time to "push-the-advantage" MijatV sends five lumber-gathering
ghouls from his base towards Cudgel's headquarters. Death Knight and his
ghouls also move toward the dark-blue base and also stop
to kill a fleeing grunt on their way north.
In the
meantime, Black-Sun's FS has amble problems with hero-killing
militia and a single teal grunt who came to Cudgel's aid. Quickly thou, the three
footmen who fought at the failed attack on Black-Sun's base get back home and join
the chase.
The
dark-blue magic-grandpa is finally ressurected and just
as he was close to killing the fleeing FS the Undead
attack from south. This time, probably remembering the
lesson hard-learned at Black-Sun's base, he decides to flee instead of
staying and getting swarmed by grass-ghouls and their
mounted leader.
Now, MijatV's forces are alone against a few
footmen, a water elemental (yeah, the archmage finally
remembered he has that spell! He must be senile or
something...) an angry senile AM and two grunts. Just as
they were getting owned the five ghouls who,
quite-some-time ago, began their trek from MijatV's base to the battlefield at Cudgel's town, finally join the fray
but don't manage to tip the balance as the i8.food's FS and another grunt come to Cudgel's aid.
Realizing
that all is not good, the DK musters his remaining ghouls
and they run away as fast as possible. One brave ghoul
decides to sacrifice his (un)life by remaining to
singlehandedly fight the enemy army in order to buy time
for his bretheren and the DK to run away. His sacrifice
will not be forgotten... for the next 5 minutes...
Just as all
combatants thought the battle was over, something
thrououtly unexpected happens, the blue FS is back! He
passes thru dark-blue army and proceeds harassing the
opressed peasants. This time however, he doesn't manage
to get away (although he almost managed but decided to
run back into opposing army for no apparent reason...
that guy is retarded...) and for a short period of time
joins his ancestors.
Since this
is no true victory for either side (Cudgel is crippled as well as is i8.food but so are both MijatV and Black-Sun) we'll remain at the old status: 1:0 for MijatV and Black-Sun.
Now,
something completely different:
Yupp! I bet
you never expected to see one of those in my BRs ;).
After these
two big battles, methinks it would be excellent time to
add an update on the situation. As you can see from
pictures, MijatV
is summoning his second hero, a Dreadlord and his main
hero, a hero-killing DK is level 3, his skills being a
level 2 unholly aura and a level 1 death coil. Black-Sun is almost finished summoning his
second hero, an orkish samurai-wannabe aka Blademaster.
His main hero, a FS, is currently dead so we lack any
information about him but I think he's level 1...
humph... Cudgel
and i8.food aren't summoning any additional
heroes since they lack money for such an investiment.
However, unlike MijatV's main hero, both of their heroes
still have their scrolls of town portal. Cudgel's Archmage is level 2 and has a
level 1 WE and a level 1 Brilliance Aura. i8.food's FS joined the fray too late to
gain a level so he's still level 1 with level 1 feral
spirit as his only skill.
MijatV's
economy is as good as it can be after fighting two
battles and not having any respite between them at all:
he has 231 gold, 200 wood, 33/40 food which obviously
meens he's still in no upkeep. His Halls of the Dead is
being upgraded into the Black Citadel and his base
consists of a single crypt, two ziggurats, a haunted gold
mine, an altar and a graveyard. His army is composed of 5
ghouls creeping in the middle with DK and two ghouls
gathering lumber in his base.
Black-Sun's economy is near-intact except for the
facts he will soon have to pay for ressurecting his FS
and that his barracks got destroyed during the battle in
his base. He has 405 gold coins, 235 lumber, 14/30
population and his base is consisting of two spirit
louges... longues... launges... I can't for the life of
me spell it right >=(. Anyway, his stronghold is being
upgraded into a fortress, he has two burrows in his base,
an altar and a warmill.
i8.food's situation is not as good as Black-Sun's. He has 335 gold and 640
lumber (note: lumber is amassed because he didn't have
time nor money to actually build something in his base as
he spent most gold on making grunts and raising his FS in
order to help Cudgel
defend his base. His population is 31/40. His town is not
all-so-similiar to Black-Sun's as you'd expect, he has a barracks, 3
burrows, a spirit thingie-in-building, an upgrading
stronghold and an altar of storms. Yeah, he lacks a
warmill. i8.food's army consists of two grunts and a FS.
As you
probably expected, Cudgel
is currently in a worst situation since he's still in
tier 1 after most of his peasants getting slaughtered by
blue wolves. He has 539 gold, 162 wood, a population of
22/30 and his crippled town consists of 3 farms, an
non-upgraded town hall, an altar and barracks. He is also
in possession of 6 footmen who Cudgel proudly calls his "grand
army".
Anyway,
some more time passes without any incidents but
eventualy, Cudgel
and i8.food once again amass their tier 1
army and go towards Black-Sun's base. However, on their way there they
stumble upon Black-Sun's newest champion, a blademaster whose
first skill is mirror image.
The
blademaster was on his way to join MijatV's creeping party. Seeing his
ally's hero under attack, MijatV sends his DK and ghouls forward to help
the green samurai who, very illogical, is painted blue...
I'll have to ponder that... Anyway, MijatV also sends his newborn hero (a
DL with vampiric aura) and five ghouls from his base to
support his creeping party fighting combined armies of
Cudgel and i8.food, as fate would have it, Black-Sun still lacks anything that can
remotely be named "an army" unless you count 2
(or was it 3?) witch doctors an army... however the trip
from MijatV's base to the battlefield is
quite long and it is aparent they will get there too late
to make any real difference.
In short
time, Black-Sun's BM is killed before being able to get a
single XP point, not long after, i8.food's Far Seer also bites the dirt
and goes to WC3 hero paradise... or wherever dead WC3
heroes go...
Some time
passes and five ghouls finally reach the battlefield,
just as predicted, they are late as most of their
bretheren is already slaughtered and MijatV has only his two heroes posing a
real threat for the enemy who still has few footmen, a
pair of grunts, an archmage and water elementals.
During the
course of the battle, one of Black-Sun's Witch Doctors places a sentry ward on
the battlefield, an awesome addition to MijatV's army, don't you think?
[hardcore_homer_simpson_like_sarcasm]THANKS EVER SO MUCH
BLACKIE!!![/hardcore_homer_simpson_like_sarcasm]
And the
battle still rages, quickly thou, the ghouls are losing
the battle and enemy warriors get to the blue FS,
sevearly wounding him and forcing him to withdraw from
the battlefield. Now it is MijatV's heroes and a couple of surviving ghouls
fighting against overwhelming numbers of hostile infantry
(wow, my warcraft speech is really improving, doesn't it
;D).
Few seconds
later the dreadlord was running away like a rabbit, his
health periliously low, the Death Knight however decided
to play a badass and fight a bulk of Cudgel's footmen all by himself. At
least this time, WC3 logic makes sence and the green DK
turns red... errr... dark red, bloody... in short: he
goes to a late grave (since he's a Death
Knight we presume he's partialy already dead so its
appropriate to say late grave).
The
situation after this battle, which is a victory for Cudgel & i8.food is: 1:1
And the
battle is over!
Emerging
victorious, yet crippled, from the battlefield, Cudgel and i8.food begin creeping the middle of the map
while MijatV,
whose forces are reduced to 3 ghouls and a sevearly
wounded level 1 Dreadlord, decides to take it easy for a
while and rebuild his army. In the meantime, Black-Sun raised his BM and trained some
more Witch Doctors.
Some time
passes peacefully as all four generals amass their forces
and so some creeping. After some more time, another
battle takes place, now, let's have a mini-update before
we resolve to the battle:
MijatV
has 7 ghouls, a level 1 DL, a level 3 DK.
Black-Sun's army is formed of a level 1
BM, a level 2 FS and 4 witch doctors (three surrounding
the heroes, one incoming).
Cudgel's situation is a lot better, he
has 6 footmen and a level 4 Archmage whose skills are
level 2 water elemental and level 2 brilliance aura.
i8.food is a proud owner of 4 grunts, a
level 1 tauren chiefant whose only skill is endurance
aura, and a level 2 FS whose two skills are chain
lighting and feral spirit, both skills are at level 1.
The two
armies clashed as MijatV
and Black-Sun attempted to kill the ogres
guarding the upper goblin laboratory (the one near Cudgel's base), the problem however is
that Black-Sun's units ran into the combined
armies of Cudgel
and i8.food who happened to had the same
idea concerning massacring the above-mentioned creep
group just few seconds ago.
And the
battle of a thousand dead wards commences!
At first, Black-Sun's forces were quickly
withdrawing toward the bulk of MijatV's army, during their flight the
blue Far Seer decided to show his disgust for the enemy
by irritating them with a chain lighting into a group of
grunts! Shit it seems you only made them even more angry!
And the
four armies clash! For now, Cudgel & i8.food have an advantage of heroes of a higher
level and a supperior number of melee forces. However, MijatV and Black-Sun are bound to make a living hell for them
by using master witch doctors to good effect. At this
very battle, the awesome micromanagement of Cudgel and i8.food shows its full power, they effectively
destroy any stasis traps and healing wards Black-Sun is able to create. To make the
matters worst, witch doctors and grunts from i8.food's base begin joining the fray as
soon as they are trained.
This battle
lasts very long and is very hard for all combatants as
the armies seem to be evenly matched but micro certanly
doesn't. Quickly enough, Black-Sun has to withdraw his BM because of the
severe wounds the green-blue samurai suffered. This
quickly leaves green dreadlord and teal tauren chiefant
facing each other. Then an awesome duel that lasted for
quite some time but never finished by a death of either
of the two combatants, began and lasted for quite some
time.
Just as the
Death Knight was going to run away out of a circle formed
by a water elemental, the archmage and some footmen
another hero joined the battlefield. A level 1 mountain
king with storm bolt attacked the DK from the left and
quickly killed him. With his main hero dead, MijatV's already crippled army of
ghouls, gets even more fucked up and the battle quickly
goes into Cudgel
and i8.food's favor.
In the next
seconds, both Black-Sun's heroes get owned by the shortie king.
The cuban vampire-demon decides to sound the full retreat
and the two armies of MijatV and Black-Sun flee south, back toward their hometowns.
The winners remain on the field, probably reveling in the
sight of so many dead enemies...
2:1 for Cudgel and i8.food...
If we look
carefully at the 6 ghouls that were close to getting to
the battlefield (reinforcements that, as usual, got to
the battle too late), the level 2 DL (with Carrion Swarm
level 1 and level 1 vampiric aura), then if we take a
look at the 5 or so blue witch doctors that fled the site
of the battle we may come to a conclusion that MijatV and Black-Sun might have even won this battle had they
stayed. I wonder what was on their minds... OH I KNOW,
THEY'RE RETARDED =D
Whatever it
is, the situation is as it is, back to the report...
All
combatants return to creeping, MijatV decides to boost his dreadlord a
bit before the DK gets back to the world of living. He
clears his natural expansion site and manages to forget
Gauntlets of Ogre Strenght +3 next to the unused gold
mine... what made MijatV
oversee such a simple thing we shall never know, perhaps
it was a mere
I-don't-give-a-shit-enough-to-completely-concentrate-on-this-game,
or was it the stress after losing an important battle...
as mentioned above, we shall never know...
The next
minutes pass peacefuly, with all sides creeping around, MijatV and Black-Sun creep the lower goblin shop and the lower
left expansion site and then move to the lower gobbo lab
and kill the ogres there. At this point, MijatV's DK picks up the ankh of
reincarnation, this is an important moment.
Soon after,
the two armies of Cudgel
and i8.food pass thru the place where the
last major battle took place and get noticed by a sentry
ward Black-Sun left there. MijatV decides to be sly and urges Black-Sun to attack the enemy armies while
they're fighting the creep group at the upper goblin
shop, therefore, getting an important advantage. Black-Sun concurs with MijatV's idea and they quickly move
towards the enemy armies. Another major battle is about
to commence.
Before the
battle, we'll take some time to put in a little update
since you are probably unaware of the
army/resources/base/hero situations of the four
players...
First off:
I wont bother to give you the economic situation of all
four players, its mostly the same and not at all
interesting (in short: none of the four combatants has
any large sum of cash/lumber (except MijatV thanks to his ghouls)) so let's
not bother, shall we?
MijatV's
Scourge consists of 13 ghouls and 3 gargoyles. Only 5 are
with heroes while the remaining 8 are in MijatV's base, ready to be summoned to
battle. MijatV's
hometown is consisted of 2 crypts, one graveyard, a black
citadel, 5 ziggurats and an altar.
Black-Sun's Horde is probably one of the most
spirit-addicted trollish tribes in the world as it is
formed of 10 witch doctors and a single tauren, standing
still in Black-Sun's base. Speaking of his base... it is
compromised of 4 burrows (spikes researched), two spirit
longues (yeah, I still can't spell it =P), an altar, a
warmill, a tauren totem and a bestiary... you'd think
he'd have a more versatile army but logic doesn't rule
the world, doesn't it?
Cudgel's
grand legion is formed of 7 footmen and 4 priests. His
capital city is build out of 5 farms, a castle, a
barracks, a single guard tower, a mill, an arcane
sanctuary, an altar and a gryphon aviary in-construction.
i8.food is a proud leader of a mixed tribe of
orcs and troll witch doctors. He has 5 of the big mean
green roughts and 6 long-noses-carrying-sticks. On the
other hand, his camp consists of 5 burrows, an altar, a
barracks, a spirit louge and another spirit thingie
in-construction.
Now, after
the little update I'm certain you are well aware of the
present situation of all players, let's get to the actual
battle...
And the
battle commences! At first a few ghouls attack an elven
priest who was standing farthest from the main bulk of
the army. And quickly, Black-Sun's army and the main force of MijatV's undead scourge plunges itself
into the tight-packed armies of Cudgel and i8.food. All the creeps are dead just 2 seconds
after the ghouls engage with with the elven priest so MijatV's sneaky plan of forcing the
enemy into fighting on two fronts is effectively
destroyed.
Quickly, MijatV realizes an error in his plan as
the enemy army suddenly gets the +2 armour bonus thanks
to a protection scroll bought from the nearby Goblin
Merchant. This time, the battle is fairly packed and its
a whole lot harder to destroy all the stasis traps and
healing wards that pop among the combatants. The result
of this is that more then two stasis traps manage to go
of, stunning both sides.
However,
Undead lack of competent spellcasters once again shows as
MijatV and Black-Sun slowly started becoming the losing side.
During the conflict, the blue blademaster gets himself
gutted and the dreadlord, being low on health, runs out
of the front lines. He is followed by the archmage, two
level 3 water elementals, two footmen and a MK. There he
witnesses the death of Black-Sun's far seer at hands of footmen. Quickly
enough, the DL is chased down and slain by the same team
that killed the FS. MijatV
did have a short satisfaction of casting a carrion swarm
into the group of his pursuers... at least he died
happy...
Seeing that
the battle is lost, MijatV
decides to save what he can and he decides not to risk a
dangerous run-by-the-storm-bolting-MK with his last hero,
the DK, and he performs a very stylish escape. I will say
no more, pictures say it all...
3:1 for Cudgel & i8.food...
After this
grand battle and another grand loss for MijatV and Black-Sun, despair gripped these two players. At
this point, they knew for certain that they are going to
lose and no matter how much do they try, an utter
destruction of their forces was inevitable.
In the next
minutes of the game gold mines started running out of
gold and all four players started thinking about building
an expansion. Quickly enough, they began clearing all the
expansion spots and building their expansions. Cudgel took his natural expansion mine,
Black-Sun went for the lower left corner
expansion mine and i8.food decided to take the upper right corner
expansion mine. None of the players bothered to build any
static defence for their new town halls...
As you see,
MijatV hasn't started building his
expansion just yet as his gold mine ran out of gold just
as the other players began building their new town
halls...
Then MijatV asked himself a single question:
"Where the hell am I goin' to expand?!", there
were two options: either at i8.food's natural expansion site, you'll agree
its certanly not such a good idea as his oponnents would
be able to easily attack his expansion while he would
have a tough time getting in time with his army to help
it... Natural expansion mine site on the other had one
big minus: that was the first place anyone looking for MijatV's gold mine would look at.
Probably at
a loss for a solution MijatV did sent 4 of his 5 acolytes to i8.food's
natural expansion mine and only one to his own natural
expansion site. After seeing that the trolls at i8.food's natural expansion mine are
still alive and healthy, MijatV decided to expand at his natural
expansion site after all and sent the four acos back
while starting to summon a haunted gold mine at his
natural expansion gold mine. Humph... I was using the
word "expansion" quite a lot lately, haven't I?
As ever,
luck is fickle and just as MijatV's gold mine was summoned and he regained
his income, Black-Sun's creeping party encountered the two
armies of Cudgel
and i8.food. The armies were obviously
checking for any expansions to trash. As they haven't
found any on Black-Sun's natural expansion site they went to MijatV's natural expansion site...
swines >=(
The two
bulks of units approached MijatV's gold mine and he quickly retreated his
forces back to his base, then approached the enemy units
from the right, ready to attack should they move on the
gold mine with Black-Sun somewhere close to help. At this point MijatV's army is quite small so he
wouldn't matter much (let this be a lesson for you kids:
you should expand before your starting gold mine rans
out).
Since Black-Sun was too far away and the enemy
force was way too massive to be defeated by a ragged band
that MijatV and Black-Sun call their armies, MijatV decided to unsummon his gold
mine and save what could be saved. Now he was as certain
as certain could be that the battle was lost. However,
since he's a crazy Montenegroan bastard who loves to take
as many other people to death with him he began upgrading
all the ziggurats in his base to make a hot reception for
the enemy, once they move on his main.
Realizing
that MijatV was unsummoning his gold mine
and that his forces were no match for them, i8.food and Cudgel moved on the gold mine only to find it
almost unsummoned and the five acolytes (who even
attempted to find a way by the enemy but quickly realized
they're cornered so they returned back to their precious
building) shouting wet insults (something concerning
their moms and sisters, who'd know...) at them.
In one
final act of heroism, the acolytes gave a good account of
themselves as they fought the attacking armies and
although they failed to kill or even noticably wound a
single enemy unit, that act was one of the finest
presentations of bravery ever to happen in a BR...
4:1 for Cudgel & i8.food...
Contrary to
the expectations Cudgel
and i8.food didnt' advance at MijatV's base but went straight for the
lower left gold mine aka Black-Sun's expansion. This gave
MijatV more time to finish all the
preparations for his plan. He started unsummoning
buildings in his base (at first he sold both crypts and
the altar) careful not to sell the graveyard before
upgrading all his ziggurats into spirit towers.
Black-Sun predicted his expansion is about to be
attacked and he took his army there. On his way there,
now notice this, it is a very important moment: he bought
2 wands of negations and a protection scroll. Don't mind
the scroll, its WoNs that'll be important in the upcoming
battle.
And the
grand finale begins! Before writing about this grand
battle, I'll do a little update on the current situation
of the four players:
MijatV has his army formed of two level
5 heroes, 3 gargoyles and 6 ghouls (or was it 7... damn,
I hate when I forget those things >=( ).
Black-Sun is in possession of a lot more
warried army then his ally: 5 witch doctors, a shaman,
two taurens, a kodo beast and one wyvern. His heroes are,
if memory serves, (the situation with their levels
changes very soon anyway) a level 5 FS and a level 3
BM... or was it level 4? A who gives a shit, please don't
make me look for it now ;)
Cudgel leads a lot bigger army: 4
footmen, a level 6 archmage, two gryphons, 3 priests, a
level 4 MK and his AM also has 2 healing wards in his
backpack. A top all this, he also has level 3 WE.
i8.food has 3 grunts, a level 4 TC, a
level 4 or 5 far seer (again, I'm too bored to look for
it, it doesn't matter anyway as you'll soon see), 3
shamans and 6 witch doctors.
Now that this little update is finished we
can get to the actual FINAL STAND OF MIJATV
& BLACK-SUN!
Seeing that Black-Sun's expansion is
the next target of Cudgel and i8.food, MijatV TP-ed to Black-Sun's expansion,
determined to fight to the last. Black-Sun's attempts to
set a stasis trap for the incoming army failed as one of
dark blue priests approached and cast a dispel at it.
This was enough for Black-Sun and MijatV who were
determined to make enemy bleed as much as possible.
And then
the unexpected happened! Just as the four armies closed
on each other, i8.food left the game!!! Without any
arguments, without lagging (he wasn't disc-ed), he just
left the game, leaving MijatV and Black-Sun in confusion!
Grabbing the chance, Black-Sun and MijatV pushed this
advantage by attacking Cudgel's army, now in
chaos.
Before Cudgel could arrange
his forces and forces of his ally the enemy was upon
them. With an awesome efficiency the green DK, ghouls and
the green DL disposed of the teal far seer. Then the
battle began in earnest.
On the ground, ghouls & two taurens
supported by healing wards, war drums, level 3 vampiric
aura, a level 2 endurance aura and a level 3 unholly
aura, were fighting the bloodlusted grunts, footmen and
casters who were boosted by level 2 endurance aura, level
2 brilliance aura, inner fire and healing wards. Heroes
were likewise busy, both Undead heroes and the
Blademaster were chopping the enemy forces that were
within' their reach. Dark Blue MK and teal TC were
likewise bussied.
The air wasn't so crowded but it wasn't
boring either, the three gargs were fighting the two
gryphons supported by inner fire. The gargs managed to
take out the gryphons without much trouble, probably
because the big pigeons were throwing their mauls at the
ground instead of defending themselves from the giant
green bats.
And then Black-Sun began spamming
dispel. Quickly indeed, magic of Cudgel's spellcasters
was utterly negated and quickly, MijatV and Black-Sun began gaining an
advantage. The ghouls were mostly killed but the battle
was going in defenders's favor.
Realizing that he was going to lose this
battle, Cudgel focused his fire at the DK,
after a storm bolt and a lot of focused fire by
bloodlusted water elementals the DK was near dead. Just
moments before he would be killed, teal TC bit the water
(well, this battle WAS MOSTLY fought in the river...).
Mere seconds later, the DK was falling on the ground but
before he died he managed to cast a single death coil
into the enemy... contrary to what you expected, that
death coil wasn't important whatsoever on the further
course of the battle, except for sevearly wounding one of
the enemy casters it did nothing truly useful. At the
spot he died an ankh was standing above his corpse.
Seconds after the DK died for the third
time, dark blue AM was ripped apart after being gnawed
upon by the two shadow wolves... nasty doggies...
And the DK was soon back on his feet...
errr... I meen, on his horse's back, his horse was back
on his feet... I meant hoves, he didn't have feet but
hoves (the horse, not the DK) which meens he was on
horseback when he was reincarnated (the DK, not the
horse).
And quickly the battle was over, the last Cudgel's unit standing,
an elven priest, was quickly dispoed of. The only
survivor of Cudgel's army was a sevearly wounded MK
who was already quite far away, running as fast as his
short legs could carry him...
And the almost-certain-to-be-lost battle
was won by Black-Sun and MijatV!
MijatV & Blackie : Cudgel = 2:4
Okay,
methinks its time for an update, a hardcore action is
about to commence:
Sincere
apologies from me, I lack a Black-Sun's BM info and I
really lack a nerve to watch the replay again (even on 8x
speed) only to get that small bit of information,
besides, I watched the replay about 10 times :( please
forgive me... If memory serves the BM is level 4 and has
a level 2 Mirror Image and a level 2 Critical Strike. His
inventory doesn't have anything important so who gives a
shit.
MijatV
has only his two level 5 heroes standing, they're soon to
gain level 6 so he isn't overly worried about that. His
base is in a lot worst condition, being reduced to three
ziggurats, two spirit towers, a black citadel, a
graveyard and a single acolyte. His economic situation is
also a lot worse then any other player's, he has only 304
gold, 11/60 population and 2858 lumber, GO GO GHOULS!
Cudgel,
now in charge of i8.food's units and buildings as well as
his own, also lacks a real army but is pumping one out
quickly enough. His base is composed of a castle, a
blacksmith, a gryphon aviary, a lumber mill, an arcane
sanctrum, 6 farms, a barracks, a guard tower and an
altar. He has a gryphon in making and is also making
footmen and priests. Also, his tresuary is by far the
biggest since he has 1795 gold, 1045 lumber and 29/60
population. Teal orkish base has two shamans protecting
it and is composed of 2 spirit longues, a fortress, a
barracks, five burrows, an altar and a warmill. Also,
there are two intact expansions, one human and another
orkish so Cudgel
has a steady income although he cannot easily gain the
information of orkish current resource situation (he has
to click the townhall first methinks).
Black-Sun is perhaps in a best situation of the
three, he has two spirit logunues, a tauren totem, a
bestiary, a fortress, an expansion, four burrows and a
warmill. He also has most units (as most of his guys are
ranged fighters so they weren't really the first to get
stomped in "The Final Stand") and these are: 5
witch doctors, a shaman and a kodo beast. Considering
neither Cudgel
nor MijatV have an actual army apart from
their heroes, this is very good.
Back to the
slaughter!
And MijatV does what he does the best: gets
extremely aggressive after a victory and quickly launches
a counter attack. This time, at Cudgel's human expansion. The first guy
to get to the expo is Black-Sun's FS who summons two shadow wolves and
quickly prevents the guard tower in-construction from
reaching maturity. Quickly enough, MijatV's two heroes and blue army gets
into the fight.
Contrary to
MijatV's expectations (he either
expected Cudgel
not to react at all at the fight around his expansion or
to come running from his base) Cudgel TP-es his MK and a few footmen,
priests and a gryphon in a desperate attempt to defend
his expansion. As could be expected, the attack is a
desperate one indeed and as such, quickly neutralised by
three opposing heroes and an army of orkish casters...
and a kodo... In this battle, both MijatV's heroes level up to level 6 and
get their ultimates.
And the
greens and blues continue leveling the town hall.
Another
point for MijatV
and
Black-Sun, 3:4 now!
Seeing that
his plan concerning upgrading his ziggurats into spirit
towers and taking a lot of enemy unit with his buildings
to death in the final battle, was not going to be of any
use now, MijatV
began selling his buildings in order to gain enough money
and build an expansion at his natural expansion site.
He has to
sell his graveyard and a single unupgraded ziggurat in
order to be able to start pumping out acolytes.
And while Black-Sun's army moves to the upper right
expansion mine where the teal orc expo is located, MijatV decides to try his luck with Cudgel's main base. He launches an
attack only with his three heroes. However, he knows that
his DL has Inferno which meens there'll soon be another
mighty warrior on the battlefield.
The attack
is a short one, at first, the two heroes ran on the base
from right side, once they noticed the single guard
tower, the DL decides its best to have an infernal as
these guys tend to rape buidlings hard. And quickly
enough, a burning stone falls from the sky right next to
the guard tower. In the next few moments MijatV sat in wide eyed astonishment as
his infernal got out of the grond about 8 in-game meters
to the south-east of where it was supposed to arise. This
meens the infernal is not next to the guard tower and
will have to pass around the lumber mill and the two
farms to actually get to the guard tower and attack it.
Quickly MijatV realizes Cudgel has a lot more army then he
expected as his heroes and good ol' burnin' pile'o'rocks
are attacked by two footmen and two gryphons as well as
ressurected archmage.
As you
would have it, MijatV's
heroes and infernal take a run for it. Although humans
attempted to pursue, DK's unholly aura made it possible
for both the DL and the infernal and the already very
fast DK to run away relatively uninjured.
Current
result: 3:5 for Cudgel.
Black-Sun
had a lot more luck then MijatV did. Quickly after the
fail of green's assault on the dark blue city, he
attacked the teal expansion. After quickly destroying it,
Black-Sun slaughters the fleeing peons. Not one of them
ever made it back home! MIJATV'S ACOLYTES HAVE BEEN
AVANGED!!!
4:5 for MijatV and Black-Sun.
After
realizing that human base is a too tough nut to crack, MijatV decided to invade teal orc base
with his two heroes and the infernal. They came at it
from south (after first checking for an expansion on
teal's natural expansion site) and started raping closest
spirit lunguie (I still cannot spell the damn thing
>=( ). Quickly they were noticed by nearby orcs
(shamans, doctors and a couple of grunts). After
massacring a few of the casters and having the infernal
suffer sevear damage, MijatV saw another threat, the TC is back &
alive!
Just as MijatV decided to flee, Black-Sun's BM entered the battlefield.
Then, a horde of taurens, orkish casters and a few
wyverns entered the battle and quickly killed the TC.
During the battle, the orcs focused their fire at the DK,
being certain that he was going to die, the DK quickly
used his ultimate, bringing back to life a single grunt
and two witch doctors... all without skills... an
ultimate indeed...
And just as
teal orcs were almost destroyed (MijatV and Black-Sun already began destroying the buildings
and were attacking the altar in order to prevent it from
raising teal FS, a strange thing happened. Few moments
ago, a single footman attacked Black-Sun's expansion in the lower left
corner. Now a whole army of Cudgel was there, attacking the expo,
apparently, the AM has mass-teleported to the footman...
sneaky swine...
Contrary to
his expectations, both MijatV and Black-Sun had another TP scroll in their
inventories and Cudgel's
army is quickly forced to withdraw by another mass
teleporting, this time into teal orc base where they
quickly disposed of the two animated witch doctors and a
single zombie grunt. Apparently the animated boys were
slaughtering the surviving peons who were franticaly
working on restoring the altar until the FS is raised.
In the next
moments, the AM and the orc shamans and witch doctors
moved back to Cudgel's
base. However, the shortie, who was probably last in line
or somehow stopped or didn't get in mass-teleport range
or whatever, got attacked with his pants down (read:
health low) by Black-Sun's army. And just as he was screaming in
fear while running away from the blue BM he realized he
could easily stop his pursuer by storm bolting him.
Apparently, this was the last hammer that shortie king
threw as Black-Sun's FS thought the exacly same thing, this
time regarding chain lighting instead of storm bolt...
And what
about MijatV?
Well, this guy was effectively pumping out gargoyles at
his expansion. Yeah, apparently, after selling half his
base and then managing to build an expansion after all,
he began creating gargoyles from the two newest crypts
and upgrading them from a graveyard. Needless to say,
many acolytes were quite confused by merchant skills of
their master, selling your buildings at half the price
and then building exacly the same ones at double price
from the one you sold old ones for was never a good
idea...
And
Black-Sun and MijatV
finally get back to destroying the teal orc base. This
time, the AM & Co quickly mass teleport in. Also, the
teal FS is quickly raised from the dead, just before the
altar is leveled by MijatV's
heroes. Strangely enough, the DL and the DK decided that
their skills are best used by bashing at the fortress...
they spent most of the battle doing this.
The FS is
the first of enemy heroes to die as he was sevearly
mauled by Black-Sun's troops.
Quickly
realizing fight is futile, Cudgel decided to get his army out ASAP by
mass-teleporting them back to his base... this plan never
worked at the AM was slain just a moment before he could
cast a mass teleport! And Black-Sun & MijatV quickly begin destroying the teal base
once and for all.
5:5 for MijatV and Black-Sun.
Realizing
that its over, Cudgel
surrendered, and MijatV
& Black-Sun are victorious!
And the
stats are before us!
Overview:
this is where MijatV
leads, Cudgel
is right behind, Black-Sun is at far third place and i8.food is quite far away on the fourth
place but considering he actually left the game this is
alright.
Units:
Black-Sun is the leading force here,
although he didn't kill the most units he certenly had
the largest army, produced most units and destroyed most
buildings. i8.food is next which is impressive considering
the fact he left the game, his largest army is smaller
then Black-Sun only by a single unit. MijatV is the third, his largest army
was 6 soldiers smaller then Black-Sun's and five soldiers smaller then i8.food's. Those orcs really mass a lot,
don't they? However, MijatV is second in a number of killed units and
buildings razed. Cudgel
is the last on units overview, his largest army was only
45 yet he has the biggest kill count and also is second
in a number of produced units. He is also the only guy in
his team who actually razed a building... probably MijatV's gold-mine-in-unsummoning.
Heroes:
Absolutely my favourite, MijatV leads here with two level 6 heroes, by
far most gained experience points and relatively much
killed heroes and obitained items. Cudgel is next, having a level 7 AM and
a level 4 MK. Black-Sun's heroes are second to Cudgel's only by a single level,
apparently, the blue far seer was level 6 and blue BM was
level 4, so there's only one level of difference between
Cudgel and Black-Sun... better luck next time... i8.food is last, having neither of his
heroes gain their ultimates, his TC was level 5 and his
FS was level 3 and he gained a lot less experience then
any other combatant... bad luck...
Resources:
Black-Sun leads here, being the only one
who never had his expansion leveled. Strangely enough, i8.food is the next... come to think of
it, it ain't to strange after all, he had his expansion
almost as long as Black-Sun as it was destroyed only before the end.
As expected, Cudgel
is number 3, he isn't much worse then i8.food, being only
260 gold coins or so far from second place. MijatV is, as expected, last, which is
quite understandable, after all, he was the last to have
an expansion and had to sell most of his buildings to
actually do it...
And there
it is!
I hope you
enjojed my BR as much as I enjojed making it. I am truly
sorry for not taking all of this thru a spellchecker but
circumstances and laziness prevented me from doing it...
I s'pose its perfectly readable as it is and I hope you
won't be repulsed from the BR by some of that bad
english... (I intently did it wrong on a few occassions
thou, let's see if you realize which occassions those are
;)).
You can
download this replay from this link. As chance would have it,
Blizzard made those two damned patches (1.04c and 1.05,
ugh) in two days that made 1.04 replays unviewable at
version 1.05... therefore, you will have to get one of
those universal replay viewers in order to watch this
replay which is version 1.04... I am sorry to say, but I
don't know where you might find one such program :( but
take a look around the internet, you'll find it easily
methinks...
One last
thing regarding my last BR, the thing about paying in the
end was a big joke of mine. By clicking on those paypall
icons you would be taken to a page where Bob the Ghoul
would sing a christmas song in his own interpretation!
There would also be a special, a bit rude, message for
all those who actually thought about paying for any of
those things. I write all this just to show people I'm
not some jerk-off who would take money for such things,
it was a joke, obviously, it failed to work as it
probably seemed too serious...
That'd be
it, I want to say that all who are interested in my other
BRs, my replays or my articles should vicit my WC3 Page which will soon enough be moved
to a new link: http://giga.realmofwarcraft.net/ (note: this link ain't active
just yet). Also, if you want to write to me or give me
suggestions or whatever, feel free to mail me at ksaber666@hotmail.com . Also, I'll use this moment to
promote a special fantasy world created by my mind, World
of Ardor can be found here...
And that
would be all, I hope you liked my BR, also, stand fast as
my next BR is already hatching within my head and will be
named: The Bob's Show
With this I leave you >:)...
P.S
BTW, here's a small apel, if you happen to have double
copies of SC or a spare SC:BW CD Key, I'd really be
grateful if you'd give it to me, I'd really like to play
SC:BW on B.net once again...
