The build orders were not the same like you see in some games. Troy went 7-creep 9-extractor and started another drone and canceled his extractor. He turned his extra drone into a pool then upgraded to a sunken. KING had nothing but drones and hatcheries but already had an expansion and was starting another hatchery at his main base. Troy started 3 more creep colonies and KING started a pool. KING had minerals on his expansion rolling so he built an extractor at each base. Troy upgraded his creep clonies to sunkens.It lloked like war wasn't on it's way...
But looks can be decieving as KING starts on his way to a lair and begins 5 creep colonies. Because Troy was getting a second hatchery. As soon as Troy found himself with 2 full hatcherys he started 6 zerglings in each. He did this until he had 36 with 1/1 upgrades and speed. As the zerglings entered KING's base KING had 7 sunkens. KING quickly started 12 zerglings. Troy did no micro management and only had 4 zerglings left when he killed the sunkens just in time to meet KING's 12. The 12 lost 3 due to upgrades but were victorious. KING neglected to rebuild his sunkens. He instead started 9 mutas. Troy had been going Hydra and was sending 24 1/1 range mutas at KING. However he meet an unlikely fate at the hands of lurkers. "wow, how many lurkers was that?"-Troy
"6"-KING. Troy's lack of micro management cost him about maybe 6-8 hydras.
Things got hot when KING flew 27 mutas into Troy's base. Troy countered with 40 hydras. Casualties were 27/36. King now had a hive and 14 sunkens along with 5 spores and 2 defilers. It had accured to him that Troy had no knowlege of his expansion. Troy sent an attack of 24 hydras but 2 plagues and 14 sunkens buried it. the next time King attacked he found a defense of about 8 hydras and 5 spore colonies. KING demolished the base with 12 guardians. Leaving KING victorious.
After the game I asked Troy why he only had 8 hydras. "Money problems man" was his response.
Lessons Learned:
Troy- Expand. (that sais alot)
KING- They might attack early. King was alost taken out somewhat early. Luckily the attack wasn't before he had no defense. |
